The reason why Rivals already has a larger potential roster than most other hero shooters is simply because they can fully skip the concept phase Overwatch, Valorant, Apex, etc. have to come up with the characters from the ground up whereas the Rivals team can just look in the comics for a character that has the powers they are looking for and think of how to make that work in gameplay They are adapting rather than fully creating, which i think will end up being one of its strengths As for characters I'd like to see, Nightcrawler has always been my favorite! (plus that would add more X-Men rep)

I loved Overwatch and played the crap out of it the first couple years. As long as they don't go overboard and turn into absolute scumbags with the microtransactions like they did with Overwatch 2, and price them fairly, I see potential in this game and look forward to checking it out with my gaming buds.

@@NosyBoy the only problem I see is he would be to similar to peter.Are you not going to have miles be able to shoot webs or even web swing I understand his ability’s can be different cause of venom powers but what about passive ability’s like the spider-sense what can you do to make miles move different and feel different from Pete. I just feel he works much better as a skin and leaves a spot for someone a more unique and different play style.

Some stones are absurdly powerful. If he has no gauntlet then he is just raw strength. Doctor Doom I can definitely see being added tho.

Eh. Carnage is meant to be a lot skinnier, and Venom is to be bulky. They are vastly different characters, not only in builds but in moveset. Carnage is faster, more precise, and lethal. Also has longer range with a few projectiles, tendrils, and ofc, able to form weapons out of his body. Venom is kinda just, really strong and also some of Spider-Man's powers.

If they don't put THE WALL in this game , im going to riot .

Ok let’s be a little fair, Overwatch makes their own characters, Marvel literally has a pool of a million characters ready to go at any point. So it’s easy for a marvel game to easily have 50 playable characters, and have all 50 characters feel unique. Vs a game like overwatch, a couple of characters may feel abundant

eh, designing and excecuting a character is the really hard part. Anyone with basic creativity can come up w charas. Its not like the reason it takes 9 months for a chara to come out is because theyre rubbing their chins the whole time what country the character should come from.

@@Makogaming27 they're couting the datamined characters, I assume. So, Storm, Magneto, Magik, and then Wolverine and Psylocke are in the leak, but not officially confirmed or announced (truthfully, though, I can't imagine they don't bring in Wolverine eventually)

If they add Gambit, they should give him the ability to charge and launch fragments of the breakable terrain as projectiles. Green Goblin flies around and throws grenades, he feels like a really natural fit for the game. Doctor Doom and Deadpool are probably my top desires off this list, both would be very cool to play as. In terms of more obscure characters, I think Blink's teleportation and portal abilities would make for a really dynamic support character.

Let me play the game first and I’ll get right on it. Once I actually have experience with how the game works, I feel like I’ll have a better idea of who I want.

I think Pixie could make for an interesting support character, she can teleport groups of characters so it would be interesting to see play out (although it might break the game but we already have 2 characters who can teleport)

That’s the thing with marvel is that there’s so many characters that this game could choose. I think an underrated team of characters is the Winter Guard with Red guardian, crimson dynamo, dark star, and Ursa Major.

Really hope for characters like shadowcat , can have her going through walls as an escape or under the floor. Also characters such as Emma frost , nightcrawler teleporting everywhere, Nova , Ant man would be hilarious as well , the great thing that excites me about the characters is that the creativity for abilities is already there so now they just have to see how far they can translate it into a competitive team focus structure. Super hero concept is so ideal it’s crazy how it’s taken this far to get one

Things I need to see on this game in the future: Moon knight having an attack that is "Random bullshit go go". Human torch being like playing ironman at x2 speed while also a glasscannon. Venom being able to grapple and toss people around like hulk does. Thor being able to do trickshots with the hammer.

I really want Wiccan. Even if hes just a skin for Wanda that makes her red magic blue i wouldn't complain

I like it when they include more characters not as popular as others like Cloak and Dagger but still are as good. I also really hope that Emma Frost becomes a character she is my favorite X men.

I had an idea that his ultimate would be his whisper and his kit would be more of his crest beams and flying, with perhaps lockjaw assist

I need Gambit, Nightcrawler, Cyclops, Deadpool, Iceman, Cable, Bishop. Hell even Nick Fury.

I have a feeling there will also be some non-playable "boss" characters that players will be able to fight in some sort of raid-like mode, specifically Knull because he is mentioned as plotting something in the "lore" sections of the Guardians of the Galaxy characters, and is generally too powerful of a character to lower to a mere playable... though that being said, playable characters Loki and Hela are also mentioned in lore as playing antagonistic roles.

Man as a gwenpool fan its a little sad but a little funny that her pet shark has been playable instead of her in both snap and rivals

They shoulda had the danger room as a training mode, or even a mode for you and a team to push through. I’ll be dying if Rivals does more story mode stuff than OW 2 lol but we’ll see

The three I desperately want to play are Johnny Blaze, Doom, and Juggernaut. But as for some dark horse picks I would love to see Penance, Msyterio, or taskmaster.

I think it goes without saying I want to see more X-Men and X-Men adjacents are due for an early update. Cyclops, Deadpool and Nightcrawler feel like they just gotta be here but I'd also love to see Toad, Quicksilver or something super out there like Mojo or Spiral That being said I'd really like to see more non-gaurdians of the galaxy cosmic characters! Adam Warlock is a step in the right direction but Quasar or Nova would also be great or Captain Universe could make for a very unique support hero, being able to bestow the enigma force on other characters and whatnot.

i think Karolina Dean from runaways would be so fun to play! i also really want them to add more mutants like emma frost or even polaris they would be so good

If they add another Spider Person I hope ots Jessica Drew. She isnt like Peter AT ALL outside of wall crawling. She can fly/Glide, shoot Venom Blasts(original user) AND has pheremones that make characters fall for her which can easily be reworked into some form of damage debuff or to a greater extent a forn of enemy control in offline matches

Haven’t seen Cloak and Dagger in a game since MUA2 which came out in 2009

Avengers 9 heroes (1 X-Men affiliate) 2 villains X-Men 5 heroes (1 Avengers affiliate) 1 villain Guardians of the Galaxy 4 heroes Fantastic Four 4 heroes (duh) Spider-Man affiliated 2 heroes 1 antihero The other 11 are typically solo. Im surprised to see X-Men represented more than Spiderman characterd honestly and I'm not complaining about that

I think they should pick based on potential unique move-set. An example would be Kitty pryde or even Wiccan (they can do so much more than make him a scarlet witch clone) and speed… a weaker speedster could be really wild

Honestly love all the different “affiliations” they have represented so far and planned for the future!! Right now they’re missing fantastic four but they clearly have that covered down the road, and currently having more x-men and cosmic characters (gotg/asgardians) than the avengers is thrilling. Also the street/city hero representation with punisher currently but Cloak & Dagger and Iron Fist is awesome, love to see they didn’t just go easy and use Daredevil cuz of his IP being the most iconic atm. Even the supernatural side is getting love, my 3 fav characters in all of marvel were always Deadpool, ghost rider, and Magik, (moon knight was a close 4th) so it’s nice to see that being explored too. The biggest thing on my wishlist atm is more villain representation for sure- Venom, Hela, Ultron, and Magneto are a great selection so far but we definitely need some for those other affiliations I mentioned previously like Kingpin (would be so interesting to see what they do for his team up) Super Skrull, maybe even Mephisto. So much potential is opened by taking advantage of less MCU/television properties and using all marvel assets. Extremely excited for the future of this game!!

magik is my number one fave so seeing her adapted her is just a dream come true

Man i really want deadpool and ghostrider, sad they are not on the list, hope they add then later on (also add blue beetle, lol)

Like the Rooster, I think I most look forward to Iron Fist acutally. Blade, Wintersoldier are nice too. But wonder who are healers and tanks of those shown heroes, since I played those roles quite often in the alpha.

Honestly Cyclops should be in there. It makes to much sense

Im not surprised Deadpool isnt base roster i know him to be a event character like in an old game he would be a secret character type stuff.

I don't think anybody's thought about it but i would love War machine as an in-between of iron man and punisher, being tankier but slower than Ironman and of course having hitscan bullets

All branches… idk about that. It’s def the tippy tip of the iceberg but I get why. Hope this one sticks around. Tough thing about starting w top tier characters is that the reveals become lackluster after the main teams and villains are ratioed for gameplay. It makes weaker characters able to hold their own against top tier just bc of how they were rolled out. There should be roster of street level characters that can be played, killed and then switched or replaced with another to balance the ratio but keep the power levels equal
