💯. I do believe we need to allow these young ladies to experience their lives as they see fit but we have also put them on a pedestal that is hard to remove them from. They set the standard of greatness and now we expect them to maintain that greatness or grow into different levels of greatness. We do not expect them to fall from grace especially when they are black. I do hope the best for Halle and Chloe because they really, truly are talented.

It is not up to them to uphold any image y'all placed on them. And it is not on them that you all choose to live vicariously through them. They sing and entertain as a profession, but they are human beings at the end of the day with real lives outside of what they present in the media. Maybe people should care and focus more on their art rather than their personal lives and allow them a chance to come into who they are as people. We see this time and time again with childhood stars who grow into adulthood. Neither Chloe nor Halle are on drugs, picking fights with other people, going awol or anything crazy of that nature like we see most others do who grow up under a microscope. They are graciously transitioning into their careers in adulthood. Who cares if they squander what future ANYONE ELSE painted for them. They have their own goals, dreams and ambitions and if they don't align with what was made up in someone else's head, they can find someone else to look up to. There's 8 billion people on the planet to choose from. How about allow black women to have humanity and autonomy, especially when placed in high positions like this? Extend the same grace we do their famous black male or white counterparts. They are not lifeless puppets and they deserve to navigate life freely like anyone else on the planet.

It's definitely frustrating. It's not just halle and chole but this is constantly happening in the black community. Honestly it's very disappointing to me to hear any woman let alone a young woman getting pregnant by a man who is disrespectful hateful and jealous. It's sadness because I foresee many of us do that she's going to emotionally struggle. And more importantly I doubt he has the emotional empathy to be a good father to that child as well. So two people are going to struggle and deal with the ups and downs of her partner. Well let's also add her sister and her family because they're going to have to hear about it and deal with him as well. It's not just about her. And it's sad because she isn't some girl from the hood she's been afforded a nice life even if she wanted to leave the industry. People were hard on KeKe palmer as well not as hard because she's been in the industry for 25 years and she's 30 but people were right her baby's father publicly humiliated her. That's not someone who loves you. It's someone who is out for themselves. And to see this publicly played out really breaks my heart. You're right I do see someone like myself. But for me I don't think they need to be my representative. I'm sad to see someone like me be hurt . How many times do we have to see this time and time again with black women. But we need to put the shame on men to do better moreso than women to choose better. It's just another reminder that it doesn't matter how far you go this is the treatment that most black women will receive in their life and it's greatly upsetting

In regards to Halle’s relationship and her alleged pregnancy…in the end we don’t really know anything. We only see what they choose to let us see. For all we know Halle and DDG got hitched at the court house and had the records sealed from the public. I think DDG is a good guy, he just likes to troll and get under peoples skin which works every single time. Halle is an extremely smart girl with a good head on her shoulders, and a family that supports and guides her. I doubt she is in an ill advised relationship with DDG. I think something we need to learn is that we don’t really know these celebrities, and just because their “personal” lives are fodder for the internet it doesn’t mean we are entitled to give an opinion or give advice unless they seek it.

i agree with your breakdown and opinions! i definitely think that we project our expectations on to these 2 especially, mainly because they are Beyonce's protege's and we've convinced ourselves that Beyonce can do nothing wrong so we have very high expectations for them. Meanwhile, Beyonce has other artists that have been out for a while that the mainstream knows nothing about so we've lost sight of what success actually means. Halle and Chloe might be more than happy with the level of success they've both managed to achieve at this point in their lives and careers and we should figure out how to be happy for them regardless. And also, we need to support them way more than we currently do if we want them to succeed.

And unfortunately, since working with the queen B..who I used to listen to...have you all not noticed the way the two girls started dressing...sexually illicitly...sexually suggestively....Do we really want our daughters being influenced by them???? i think not!!!!

I think its both. There are always going to be haters but for those of us who only want the best for our own there’s frustration and fear because I don’t want to see all of their hard work get overshadowed by questionable choices. The industry is not always willing to give second chances.

People definitely get upset with them for the choices they make....Chloe gets bullied often for "doing too much" and being overly sexual Halle for who she's dating and possibly being a new mom so early in her career. People were also disappointed when CHLOES debut album flopped. People are not mad at them to cancel them or anything but the pressure for them to be great and not mess there careers up is def. there....
