Just ordered mine. Strangley it cost me less than I originally paid for my 144001. Loved my original (despite some teething problems). Can honestly say had just as much fun with it as I have with my Arrmas. Only downside is, something breaks then your left waiting on parts as they arent readily available here.

Cool vids as always. I have been surprised that this brushless one got very little fanfare after everyone raved about the original brushed so much. I wanna see if you guys smoke it or not on 3s.

I've ran a 124017 V2 daily for several months. It eats rear diffs on occassion (every few months) and bends the crap out of front axles in hard wrecks...but overall has been solid.

Give those front tires a Mohawk trimming a couple of rows off either side. Then see if it helps the track cornering 👍

Try a 100c 2s you'll get nearer 45mph. 3s and you'll need to reduce the steering rate quite a bit, good luck the wheelbase makes it super twitchy with the extra punch

I think the extra $ paid for the original LC Racing platform these are all based off of is worth it. The performance and better quality parts they are equipped with, along with the US based parts distributors makes them more worth the extra money, in my opinion. That being said, sweet video and thank you for the review! Looks fast and fun!

I'd love to see a compairison between the 144010 and the 124017. I know it's 1/14 vs 1/12th scale, but that also steps up to a 550 brushless and a better length to width ratio. I personally play with a highly modified 959A. I've swapped in a brushed 550 with cooler, changed the spur and pinion gears. It also has an aluminum chassis, shock towers, central drive shaft, steering linkage, all the suspension components, shocks, and new bearings everywhere. This thing is a BEAST. I'm working on sorting out a cooler to attach to the integrated ECS. The ECS/Rx has been swapped out to the newer model and the battery leads were swapped for heavier cables with a Deans T connector. Running a 3S is doable for a short time, but the FETs get really hot. Even running an 80C 2S is so much better than the stock 20C 2S. I've had it up to 48MPH with a 19/27 gear ratio, but the ECS only hangs on for about 45 seconds before the FETs overheat.

This car is just amazing even in 2023 had mine for a year only have to oil my shocks up every once in a while and it gets a little hot but apart from that it’s amazing

Where's the 3s vid with the tweaked suspension? Go through the drive train make sure the diffs and bearings are running smooth. I've had one for about 10 runs on grass and got significant wear on the drive cups in the rear. Also got a bent dog bone, when wife launched it over a limestones wall and into the sand pit. Not sure how much of the wear is from the impact, but it's significant wear. I think there's too much binding in the read, I don't think they lubed it well, the front seems fine. I also think the high punch setting and driving on grass contributed to the excessive wear.

You could try 10k in the front diff, 7 or even 5k in the rear diff, that should calm the cornering down.

I dint think the diffs are sealed. That's why grease is the only option.

get the 124016 , trust me that roll cage is not just for looks , i have a 124018 and my friend got a 124017 and he got a roll cage for his since it saves A LOT from heavy rolls . 144010 is nice but short wheelbase makes it really hard to control and the speed is identical a.k.a crazy on 3S . but if you ask strictly between 144010 and 124017 it's the 124017 hands down - better handling and more space inside for mods/battery.

Great video bro I've got a wltoys 124019 buggy I just made an 83mph pass with on 4s that I put together out of my parts bin the only money I spent was on a set of contact foams she runs stupid smooth and fast

Can you rebind the remote to eliminate throttle lag i got one coming in a few weeks and wanna avoid buying a new remote if possible.

The one thing I hate about the wltoys 144001 is the spoiler it literally just snaps

I get 67mph on my cheap Hyper Go 16BM brushless with a 3s 2200MaH battery. 61mph uphill, 69 downhill.

The shocks are weak, and bend easily, since there's no front bumper

Did they ever figure out the diff stripping issue with the 144001? Those bevel gears were always grinding down to nothing

I’m not sure. I think the origin problem was the input gear not being meshed well with the outer ring gear of the diff. I never experienced that problem with mine though…. We stripped the spider gears in the rear diff. We just jammed some shoe goo in it, locked it up, and now it does wicked wheelies.

@@10thScaleGarage same here. With the locked diff, they don't turn as well and tend to spin out a lot too. I've been through about 10 of those diff over the last 2 years. Ive shimmed them and all that stuff but they always wear down. I wonder if the brushless motor will mess up those little gears even more

Great video again! But… I’m still not sold on these brushless wltoys. 1/2 the fun is upgrading them yourself. I loved the journey my 124017 took me on. She now runs laser straight at +70mph, for less then the v2 brushless :)

I’ve seen 55+ on 3s with stock electronics and better tires. Prob only wanna do that for a few speed runs though, can’t imagine it can handle that consistently without burning up like you said.
