Goes to show the amount of mark up losi and the likes make when 99% of the car is plastic and three times the cost of one of these. Transmitter is also infinitely more pleasant to look at than the offerings of losi team associated and traxxas. Not sure why but those companies are incapable of making a non ugly transmitter. They are highly offensive lol. HPI makes the most handsome transmitter imo tho.
Hi Guys, love all your rc car videos! I have heard that the wl toys 144001 comes from the factory with dry differentials, like many rc cars. I neglected to lube mine on a deerc 302e and when it started clicking it was too late. I lubed it and it locked up when I test drove it, thankfully it's only the rear one!!. I'm wondering if the noise you hears in yours is one of the diffs starting to go south. Just some friendly advise. Note, replacement diffs are availale for wl toys for about 15 - 20 bucks on amazon, but lube it when new, then it's no more worry and you save several bucks. Thanks and keep up the good videos!

Yo 10th scale!! I've had two of them, ran them into the ground. The A959 was the first "star" of WLToys company. Primarily sold thru Banggood and Amazon, then in September last year the 144001 came out, I bought one of the 1st issued. Solid vehicle, I personally had alot of probs and just ran out of 💰 money!! I sold both off them a couple months ago, AND I'm kicking myself for it. Might have to go round 3, but, SO MANY cars.... so little cash and time..... 😲☑️💯

Great car! Two things to be careful with: 1. The ESC goes into Low Volt Cutoff very low at about 6.3v. 2. The thermal cutoff does not seem to work. During hard grass bashing, I heard a "pop" and the ESC let it's smoke out. The plastic was melted and the heatsink was hot enough to fry a pork chop. The temp cutoff should have not let it get hot enough to melt.

the brushless one is faster than the HYPERGO brushless 4x4 truck. I own both using 3S lipo 2200mah. I clocked the HYPERGO on my GNSS GPS ran 42mph on 3S. The WLTOYS have not gps yet but it will walk by the HYPERGO side by side!

Don’t be scared. There is a big community around this vehicle and lots of “how to” videos for just about everything on this rig. You can ask 100 people whats the right kind of grease to use, and you’ll get 50 different answers. I use waterproof marine grease. You can buy it at any auto parts store for a few bucks and you’ll have enough to last for years. As for how much? Enough to provide lubrication for the gears, but not so much that it’s stuffed clear full. Let’s call it, “a dollop.”

So I’ve seen!
My friend bought me this for my bday ( he lives across the country) and I had no idea what I was walking into since I've been out of the RC car game for aaaages. I had a RC10 B3 that had some slight upgrades, so some pre-assembled thing? Expected it to be just ok. Uhh, this thing is better built, faster has 4W drive and I'm blown away. My old car cost something like ...$150 just for the frame which didn't come assembled, I think it had the motor? But no servo or speed control, receiver, controller, etc. So it was another $70 for an electronic speed control and IDK how much for the servos since I think I just used one my brother had from the early 90s that he had in his King Cab. So for $130 for something that's this fast and ...pretty damn durable? I'm blown away. My first crash with the old B3 destroyed the shocktower because- naturally they made it out of graphite for some bloody reason. My first crash with this car broke 1 of the arm joints that took 5 minutes to replace.
I have this car great little thing. Lots of upgrades available

Yea. Only prob I have with low budget rc’s like this is they have no slipper or center diff. So you can forget bashing. @JasonGN2045

The Tacon Soar is a rebranded LC Racing emb-1. The 144001 is a knock off of those cars. I had a 144001 for a few months. It was fun at first but then the rear diff went and then the arms and spindles kept breaking. Got tired of waiting forever for replacement parts so I eventually sold it. BTW lots of the LC Racing replacement parts fit the 144001. But I'd definitely buy an actual lc racing or tacon soar before I buy a other 144001.
I might have to pick one up and do a brushless conversion and a drive train upgrade and see if it does well against my 1/14th tacon soar and bulwark

Yes! Recently filmed with a rustler 4x4. That video should be up later this week.
That looks exactly like my LC Racing EMB 01, though I never had problems with the diff on it. And I ran like 50 batteries through it.

Hahaha. I never noticed that.
Enjoyed the video. Thanks. A couple suggestions not mentioned so far... Fix the toe-out. I gave mine a slight bit of toe-in for better stability. Check the tightness of ALL the screws. Found a couple that needed snugging down. I did put a heat sink on my motor. They get HOT. Then enjoy one of, if not the best, values in RC cars!

@@10thScaleGarage True. (as mentioned below several times) I packed Moly grease in the front & rear diffs before the first run.
Is it suitable to use on the beach? Or is it more of a tarmac car? I have absolutely no idea about RC cars and I might buy this one as my first excursion into RC world
