When i met my husband, we had talked about having kids, we had names picked out and everything. May 2015, a year after dating, we got news that he was unable to have children. It weighs heavy on me sometimes. people always ask us if we are going to have kids and how cute our kids would be. they don’t realize the depth of everything and our situation. so please, don’t ask people when they are going to have a baby. it’s very personal and you don’t know what people are going through.

I'm in a similar situation. I took the pill for 4 years and I got my period back the month after. I got pregnant after 3 months and was so happy, but miscarriaged. The same thing happened twice, I could never go in to the second trimester without miscarriage. So I decided to go on the pill again as I didn't want to feel the pain of miscarriage. We took tests at the doctor and apparently I have "hostile uterus". So I think I did a good choice, however I get so jealous when people around me have babies like they breath air

@Athena Procyk Did you even watch the video? Whether you think it is or not, it is very clear that lots of people do. It is so disrespectful to completely disregard someone else's feelings just because YOU personally don't have a problem with it. If you don't mind if people ask you then great, but a lot of people do so you need to respect that boundary for others. Just read the comments and you'll see how many people it bothers.

@Athena Procyk You are COMPLETELY missing the point. I know that you think it's overly sensitive. You don't have to agree with her. But it's a problem when you disregard other people's feelings because they don't match yours. Have some decency. You can disagree but you should still respect it and act accordingly. I'm sure you wouldn't like it if someone knew something bothered you but continued to do it anyway because they didn't care about your feelings.

@Athena Procyk You can't be serious?? People on KZread are humans too. You should treat them the same way you would anyone irl. Once again, just because you're curious doesn't give you the right to ask. It's quite literally none of your business. Yes people put their lives out there but not all of it and that doesn't mean they should be treated any differently or respected any less.

The whole pregnancy thing is a “problem” as soon as a woman is 20+. It gets worse if you are in a long term relationship or even married. It’s super insensitive to ask! Not everyone WANTS or is ABLE TO HAVE kids. Life isn’t a check list where you need to do certain things at a certain age. It’s a whole mindset within our society. As soon as you have a kid they will ask about the next one. Because EVERYONE should have at least 2 kids, right!? NO ... I understand that the topic is annoying .. but you might have to be harsher about it. Some people are just ignorant.

And even after you have 2 kids people still bother... My mom had my sister and me in her early to mid-30s, but I remember being a tween/teen of 11 to 15, and people asked my mom out of the blue if she was planning to have another baby, and if she wanted to have a boy. She said she was more than happy with 2 girls and that she was already 43-47, but so many people are so invested in other's family planning as if it was their own.

  • @Grace-rh4em

Agreed! And when you have 3+ kids, and express that you aren't done, people turn around and tell you you're crazy. I haven't personally experienced that, but I grew up in a Christian home school community and it was common to be around families that had way more than 3 kids. When I was younger, I used to think having more than a few was crazy, but now as an adult it's really about whatever the parents decide. Ps, this response is from a woman who is perfectly fine without ever having kids.

Just an FYI for young people here who doesn’t know: there are a lot of different types of birth control, so If one didn’t work for you there might be one that will. That’s why it’s extremely important to consult your gyno before taking any or if you’re planning to change it.

  • @AnaKarinna

I felt it was important to say this here because I saw a lot of girls thinking they only had the choice to either leave it or keep suffering the consequences. And even though it should be common knowledge not everyone knows that not every contraceptive pill is the same. They vary in components and quantities. If you want to leave it completely is ok! But if you don’t, just know that you shouldn’t have to keep suffering “side effects”, just keep searching for the one right for you.

Yes I totally get this! I just had a baby 7 months ago and it's always "When are you having another baby!" "You can't have just one!" "Don't you want to try for a girl?" And it's frustrating!!! I'm off of hormonal birth control now and it feels so much better after being on it for a year and a half and then immediately getting pregnant! Congrats on listening to your body and taking control of your life!

I get this all the time too. Even friends who I have told countless times that I don’t want another kid and know of all reasons why I don’t want another keeping pushing the idea that I must have more than one kid. I used to get very worked up and upset in the beggining but now I’m slowly just learning to say no and not having to explain why.

I love the girl chats Jess! Especially during right now during quarantine because I can’t visit my friends right now cause of Covid . They live in different states. I’m actually on my period right now lol so these girl chats do help. I do get really moody and emotional on my period. I start crying at the most random times. And about every other month the cramps hurt so bad to the point where I can’t go to work cause it hurts so bad. I was on birth control but I had to stop taking it when I got hit by a car 7 years ago and I was on other medication so I had to stop taking it to prevent blood clots but I haven’t gotten back on it since. And I do agree that it does feel good to be off it. I even asked my boyfriend if he wanted me to be on it. But, he expressed to me that it’s my choice, but he’d rather me not be on it cause of the negative side effects. But all in all this was refreshing! I can’t wait for more girl chats. Thank you Jess!

Nooo the sweater looks super cute like that I never would have noticed it shrunk ! Also omg Jess’s book looks so cute! ✨ and as for opening up about this, thank you so much for being so vulnerable and sharing with us! You have inspired me to open up about this topic now. My husband and I have been together since I was 15, got married when I was 22, and now I’m 27. We have been getting the baby questions since I was like 18... in college I was diagnosed with endo and was told I had a 50/50 chance of having a baby and I was crushed. The question destroyed me every time I got asked. I got off birth control 3 years ago (not to get prego but because I was over putting chemicals in my body) we were scared of getting pregnant before being ready, but my husband was super supportive of me getting off of it. I feel sooooooo good now being off and just really learning how to listen to my body. It’s a really special thing and I truly believe I will be able to have a baby one day by when the time is right. Or in God’s time lol 🙈 anyways wow this was long... again just want to say thank you for opening up 💛✨

Jess, I have to comment this! I rarely comment but I felt like you deserve to know what your audience love about you. I loved the raw, casual talk... So much has developed over the years, there's already a lot of perfection out there, and I get it that as influencers, you try to portray the best to us which is awesome! But sometimes just random conversations, be it tripping over your words, or looking lost in a video, even the sound of the pool, trust me it felt therapeutic, and basically just sharing what your heart wants to convey atm just feels like a facetime call w my mom which is so refreshing 😍 Love you sm and I hope you get to read this:)

Your body knows what it needs. There are a a lot of types of pills some stronger than others so ask your gyno which one she/he recommends for you. When I started mine (because I had really bad periods), my gyno asked me to track any symptom in case my body had any reaction so we could change it for one with other components, thankfully I didn’t. Woohoo I am so happy about this. I could really sense that you were trying to be very polished. I am the same with my instagram so i made a new account where i don't allow myself to edit or filter anything and to just be more me and it is such a great feeling. Hearing and seeing you be more real was really content that made me feel content. I hope you continue like this, its hard with so many haters but it's important to see flaws otherwise girls compare themselves to polished versions of people that's impossible to obtain. I was one of those girls and felt disappointed in myself a lot because of this. Thank Jess and please feel free to be more raw and honest.

I was diagnosed with PCOS last year at 20 yo and I’ve been on birth control since I was 17 and I want to see a hormone/naturalist about correcting my hormones instead of taking the pill. This is a really important conversation to have, so thank you! You’re awesome!
