It's been a long time since this mic was released and it would be nice to see an updated version with USB-C!
I love the Rode Mic Plus. I directed 30 short films and two documentary feature films with my canon 5d mark 3 camera on this mic. been selected for over 270+ festivals and won over 55 awards. if you are an indie filmmaker, it's a great investment and time saver in indie filmmaking.

This was an excellent video. Thank you. What do you set your camera's audio on? -12 or off all together?

Thanks! When filming with the rode mic plugged into the camera (embedding audio into the video clips) I set the audio in the camera to peak around -12. If I’m using the mic with a separate audio recorder and just using the camera’s internal mics as source audio for syncing, I simply put the audio on auto. Hope this helped!
Your voice sounds great with this mic, so jealous haha. I can't seem to get this kind of quality from my Pro + Edit: You have to be using a EQ right? This isnt raw audio?

I just bought this mic. How do you get that clear crisp sound with no hisss? What settings you use? Do you do it in post?

I’ve never had issues with hiss… maybe your gain is set too high? A quiet room and getting the mic close is the key to good audio

what if your filming super loud car exhaust will it peak or can it handle it?

I would recommend using the on board -10db gain stager.
