If you do buy them what would you do with them I think you should keep them in their own enclosure so if another ant colony gets infected you could just release all of the good mites in there

Holy crap. This is the first video I’ve watched from this channel and I’m already loving it. The way you describe the rewards of the games and the emotions of the creatures makes it feel like they’re gladiators being prepped to go to the arena and you’re their god, promising them protection and unlimited food if they win. It’s so interesting!

The two ants that were alone in the tube looked very surprised to have an unexpected visit from the queen. That's pretty cool how they hopped right to her side.

It's actually a tried and tested, effective story telling device. If the cliffhanger has you upset, then it's doing its job. I bet its guaranteed that you will be back to see the next video despite complaints. It doesnt matter what age you are, this fact will never change which honestly doesn't make it an insult in the least. The clickbait however... that's a different story

Lol I'm 12 and I also watch this. But yeah as the other dude said cliffhangers are way to build up a bit of suspense to make you watch the next episode. I was disappointed but I for sure, am going to watch the next episode.

@@zzdesolatezz actually I will be skipping right to the reveal so he gets crap watch time from me, leaving a dislike included to the one I put on this video (one for the title and one for the "oh I hate to do it to you guys but I gotta" tacked on at the end there) so no..it really doesn't help him in my case

@@umburon actually dislikes let youtube know that a video is garnering attention which factors in whether or not a video is trending. He lands on the trading page pretty often so it's not a loss for him. So incidentally, you are helping him lol.

Started watching this video to see what was going on with the ants parasite and wound up watching a creep mate bugs and talk about it like a sport

@@TiredMoonRabbit No I get it, and youre right. but he made you feel like you would at least learn more and he teased it a couple times. like another commenter in a different thread, it makes sense that he has to cliffhang sometimes like when something will take a while like the experiment. here, he had it in the jar (or he says he does) so it really wouldn't have been any trouble to show us. I think if he just showed us what it was people would be less annoyed and more excited for next week. Like he could be been "and so I had to release this " and then next week show us how it was used and how it worked out

I really didn’t like the clickbait. I watched all 25 minutes just so I wouldn’t miss something, and then the video was over and there was no “creature” to be seen. Don’t do that to people. We come here to learn and have a good time. Not to be scammed into watching something where there is no payoff whatsoever. Unless something changes, I’m unsubbing.

@@crushproblems1774 Nope, it's not a cliffhanger, it's a clickbait. The title mentions something that is ultimately *NOT* shown in the video. I'm pretty upset and I am considering unsubbing, like many other people are doing, since this is not the first time this happens.

Please please please do not start doing the cliffhanger thing again. It didn't work out last time, and it isn't working out now. I am genuinely interested and concerned in the status of the Golden Empire - it happens to be my favorite colony on your channel - and I do not need all the extra narrative, padding, and cliffhangers to keep me interested in the goings-on within the terrarium. I watched this video with the expectation of seeing an explanation for why the experiment you were performing apparently wasn't to your satisfaction, and then a follow-up on the 'Angel of Death' and the biology behind why you chose it and what it would do. In the end I felt disappointed and like my emotions had been played with, which I think is not the reaction you were hoping for. The things that happen within your colonies and the interconnectedness of all the life-forms within your terrariums are easily interesting and engaging enough WITHOUT all the padding and cliffhangers and whatnot. I subscribed to your channel back in early 2017 because I was INCREDIBLY impressed by your nature documentary approach, and your philosophical lessons on the incredible beauty of all of this planet's creatures and the intricacies of the Earth's biological processes. That's the content I subscribed for, and if you continue with your current approach, I will be unsubscribing, as this is fundamentally different from what made me fall in love with your channel. ~ A concerned fan

He said the mite experiment worked, he quarantined the majority of the colony, and is releasing something else to kill the survivors in OG space so mites don't spread to other colonies or other creatures he has. It was pretty clear his explanation which was the point of the video. All of his videos have a cliff hanger at the end some are smaller/bigger than others. This one was a bit bigger than others and I think if he worried the title a bit different and just left the cliff hanger towards the end it would have been better but like overall his video isn't much different than his others.

@@YoSoFunnyx3 I thought his explanation was entirely inadequate. We have no guarantee that the angel of death will be able to find and kill all of the remaining ants. Even if it does, we have no guarantee that the mite problem will be solved. Fans in the comment thread have brought up many good points and suggestions. Mikey has probably already thought of similar ideas himself and given them due consideration, but non of this is addressed in the video. Even if the video is intended solely as an explanation of his reasoning, it fundamentally fails in that regard.
