Why I Only Eat Organic Oats Now (Jan 2024): My Pancreatic Cancer Journey

In May 2022, my world was turned upside down when I went through the process of being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It was a brutal wake-up call, forcing me to re-evaluate everything about my life, especially my diet. One of the biggest changes I made was switching to a vegan whole food diet including switching to eating oats that were exclusively organic.
There is a disturbing link between the herbicide glyphosate (the main ingredient in Roundup) and an increased risk of cancer. Glyphosate residues are commonly found in conventional oats, and I wasn't willing to take any chances.
I share my personal story in this video ( • 2022 Summary of Cancer... ), what I'm doing to combat the cancer in this video ( • How I’m beating inoper... ) and in this video I focus more on the bodies that have identified a link or not between glyphosate and cancer, and why I believe organic oats are a crucial part of my journey to staying healthy and cancer-free. In two later videos that I haven't published yet, I'll also share my favorite organic oat porridge recipes.

Hello Jim, I am not sure whether cancer free is a truth for anyone because cancer is a normal part of a normal person's body. On a normal MRI scan, a radiologist would not know it is there and would not be able to detect it. However, at my standard of care cancer hospital they spend some considerable time and resource on each scan really looking very hard to find it so they can tell me I still have cancer. So it's still there but cancer is not going to kill me. Wishing you all the best. xxx

Oh dear that's not good is it ?...... I can't eat Oats anyway (Keto/Carnivore diet) but Oats get a bad gig all round from what I've been reading. Apparently shocking for a fatty liver.... No, not for me. I'll stick to my eggs and steak for now.

I agree a lot of people say bad things about grains including oats but I actually haven’t been able to find any research showing them to be bad. I am very concerned about non-organic grains and glyphosate particularly on oats and wheat… but I think eating a diverse variety of grains has given me a good filling base to my diet. I also look at people from the blue zone areas and all of them have a grain base to their diet. A few very significant pancreatic survivors like William Kelley also had a significant base of grain to their diet. I’d be interested in any research you can share on this to the contrary. I think there is a lot of propaganda against oats but I can’t find a lot of substance to it, but at the end of the day everyone has to do what works for them - and these things might be different! 🧘🏻‍♀️❤️

@@SheDaresLIVEMorning Lucy sorry for the late reply, Christmas seems to end back end January in our house for some reason. Anyways back to normal now. Regarding the "Oats" and diet in general. Since I got diagnosed with chronic pancreatis and a severely fatty liver in 2017, for me personally it's literally been trial and error regarding my diet. The so called "specialist" suggested a low fat diet and that was literally it. Oh brilliant, nothing else Doctor ? No stick to a low fat diet and we'll review you in six months. Now I'm definitely not a nutritionist but I do know a little bit about diet. Low fat diets are generally high in sugar. High sugar equals high fructose. High fructose equals fatty liver. So off I went researching as much as I could back in 2017. This lead me to the Keto diet, everything I read and listened to said that it was excellent at reversing a fatty liver and type 2 diabetes. I ignored the "specialist " advice and went Keto. Went for an MRI A YEAR later to reveal the pancreas was still chronic (still is today) but my liver had significantly reduced in fat. Would it have reduced in fat on a low fat diet ? I guess I personally won't know unless I changed my diet which obviously I'm not willing to do so as the Keto appears to have worked so well. Coming into around 2022 I started looking into the carnivore diet as an Ultrasound (not very accurate compared to MRI) revealed I still had "patchy " areas of fat. Nothing to worry about compared to what it used to be like, but I was determined to do my upmost to clear the remaining fat up, hence the carnivore diet. Now I've been carnivore for 12/16 months, I know I should have been more diligent with my dates. However from my last Ultrasound 3 months ago the fat has again cleared up some. Still small patchy areas but quite a significant reduction from the previous Ultrasound. Could this be the carnivore diet ? Possibly. Could this be the total elimination of carbohydrates ? Maybe. I'm just going to crack on doing what I'm doing and hopefully everything will at the very least remain stable. Regarding my acquired information that came from watching and reading some KZread doctor's, you may be familiar with them. Dr Ken Berry. Dr Sten Eckberg. Dr Shawn Baker. Dr Eric Berg. Regarding the Oats and fruit and vegetables the best two to check out would be Dr Ken Berry and Dr Shawn Baker. Watching them and listening to their views on the subject would save me a lot of time rather than myself regurgitating something you could take a look at. Phew.... That's about it for now, if your interested in their opinions on diet and watch them, it would be good to hear what you think. Right I'm off for a brew then work. Much love.... Moonie. X

@@SheDaresLIVEJust wrote a very lengthy reply Lucy only for it to be deleted. Unbelievable. Regarding the Oats and fruit and vegetables please take a look at Dr Ken Berry and Dr Shaw Baker's work. Sorry this is so short but my previous reply took around 45 minutes to write....... KZread...... I literally give up with it.
