Great video! I made one at the start of the campaign, and I am amazed that you were able to say everything I did and more in only 10 minutes. Glad to see other creators putting some visibility on this game!

Warpath 28mm minis can all be used in Firefight, and many of them also in Deadzone. Both great games!

This looks great, as much as I love 30K I don't mind throwing in with a new universe for decent rules and affordable and available miniatures.

Can you do a video on the factions and models. Not necessarily the epic versions. Help those of us that don't know this universe. I have seen some of there stuff but clueless on this.

Honestly just... its basically warhammer 2.0 without so much magic. I'll give you the summary: >Enforcers. Superhuman soldiers, aka totally not space marines. And like the space marines for wh40k, they are the worst part of the setting. >GCPS: think imperial guard mixed in with the Marines from Aliens. Which is to say they're less religious and way more mercenary than the imperial guard. And better equipped. But at the end of the day they're still the poor infantry. Honestly should be the posterchild of the setting instead of the enforcers, their minis and specially vehicles are way, way better. >Asterians. Ancient misterious aliens that mess with humans for their oh-so-inscrutable means (totally not just trolling, they swear, the pompous pricks), so yeah eldar mixed with starcraft's Protoss. >Marauders: they're the orks. There's not even any real difference they're just orks. >Mazon Labs: ever seen Aliens? Yeah its weiland yutani except somehow even worse. They make all sorts of creepy alien experiments with tyrannids and zombies, so, basically, they're the bad guys even in a universe where there's no good guys. >The Plague: mutant zombies. Basically nurgle except better imho and with less magic, instead being more organic and brutal, kinda like HALO's "Flood". >Veer-Myn: They're the skaven. They're the skaven but in Space. ABSOLUTELY BADASS. >Forge Fathers: dwarfs in space. Lots of vehicles and power armor and shit. Cool as fuck. Way better space marines-like faction than either the enforcers or indeed the bleeping space marines. >Nameless: hard to say since that one's new for this but they look like the aliens Mazon made experiments with. And if that's what they are then they're discount tyrannids.

Mantic Forge Fathers absolute shit on the Votann for execution of the space dwarf aesthetic. I run my vintage squats alongside them and the compatibility is perfect.

My son and I started playing KoW recently and it's a very fun game. But the sci-fi side of Mantic is a harder sell for me. The universe isn't terribly interesting and the armies are kinda bland and there aren't enough factions imo. While I know the Firefight rules are far better than 40k, the 40k universe is the big draw for me. P.S. Really glad you are back to making videos.

Agreed! I hate to support a company like gw so I’ve stopped buying their stuff, but their universe and models are really nice, especially the plastic quality

Might have to give this a look, I’m pissed at the lack of stock for LI from GW and third party although the third party are just strung along by GW. Very disappointed especially when production is done in the UK ffs and still problems 🤔 seems worse now tbh. Rant over 🤣

Sorry to hear that it sounds like you're shifting away from Legions Imperialis. I've only had good, engaging games so far, and haven't noticed any of the game-breaking things being an issue up to now -- though that may be due to my opponents and me not taking the game too competitively. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on Warpath as the game starts, but I doubt I'll be supporting the kickstarter. The miniatures just don't appeal to me at all, and it would take some serious convincing on the rules front for me to think about switching over. I think Legions is a great game, with lots of potential, and while there are stock issues, I would imagine those will be well solved by the time that Warpath is just starting to be released in 2025.

As Ferk says! You can see their models in deadzone/firefight on the mantic site as examples. Theyre really cool.

Maybe if the models improve I’ll give it a look. Cavatore is a good designer but with a game as niche as Epic it’s hard to want to cash into a competitor. I’ll probably stick with rank and flank games for now.😊

Still on the fence with this one, rules look well thought out but a little dry. I wish the rules were designed with a smaller playing surface in mind, as space is a premium, and so many games already cater to 6 x 4. Though one thing I can say is I recently backed a mantic kick starter, and I received it in like 8 months, which is seriously impressive when you consider what most campaigns are like.

If you ever played firefight 2e, it also looks a little dry. And then you play it and it's beautiful and flavourful.

I hope the playtesting has improved, I was an early adopter of Dreadball and the first Deadzone and the rulesets got broken after 2 years.

They actually have had two public playtest sessions with the design team on hand to get in person feedback, and have committed to doing more in the future. The beta rules are also available and they are listening to the community for this one. Check out their channel; they have a video up where they interviewed the second playtest group. Granted it is a promo video, but I think they have the right idea with this ruleset. Having watched the playthrough video it they released, the game is functionally the "other epic" with Mantic's Firefight mechanics sitting on top of the engine, along with some other additional mechanics. The tactical depth of commanders and the order system are two of my favorites!

I play Deadzone 3rd Edition and Firefight 2nd Edition. Both are fantastic wargames. I'm tempted to buy as much of this Warpath Epic as I can. Mantic have come a long way since their old VHS elf boxes.

Cavatore also worked on bolt action, which is an excellent game. Its a shame, I just put a lot into the all quiet on the martian front kickstarter. Warpath interests me, but its not in budget

Why not do both? I’m sticking with Legions. I think we need to take into account it’s not a complete game yet. Super heavies, artillery etc only just appearing on the scene now.

trouble i find with mantic and KS once there KS is done the game is done. is the epic hype going to still be around once this finally drop. And will the renders etc that they showing look just as good once they been injection molded.

I play some Mantic games and they support at least their war games pretty well. Not counting Vanguard because Vanguard was just a bad game.

Im back, but one im sad because i dont think they unlock other faction. Two i forever and ever choose Horus heresy because is Horus heresy.

I'm assuming the Warpath lore is being compared to the 40K lore. Honestly, the Warpath lore is growing with each edition. The concept of the Deadzone itself is very cool - it's a slow-motion Exterminatus Order placed under a microscope with lots of associated tragedy and injustice as entirely innocent and loyal peoples are placed under a death sentence. And what they do next. 40K, like Battletech, grew with each edition. Warpath is doing the same. And I don't get the "unsupported" claim. I play KoW and Deadzone. They are both well supported. Vanguard dropped out of the spotlight, but all companies do that with some games. I think you're being overly harsh.

A little harsh. Firefight/Deadzone are some of the best current minis wargames available. They're affordable, tactical and most importantly fun. I've followed enough of Mantics output over the last few years to be happy to go all in on Warpath Epic. GW lost me years ago. There are few companies who can match their 40 years of background fluff and story but there are way more companies who can offer better gaming experiences at affordable prices.
