I don't understand why there are so many rude comments. It's his life and his decision. If he left the company, because he had a different vision, then it's not your part to bitterly mumble that 'oh, he got fired' or be overly sarcastic. ..and we all know that working for Google as an engineer is rather different from working 'for' Google as a creator in KZread. C'mon people.. you're better than this.

Thanks always for watching this video, guys! The central theme I wanted to convey in this video is that “follow your passion” is not always the best advice. Of course, it would be great if you could do what you love every day to make a living, but sometimes it’s just neither feasible nor realistic. For example, I’m really passionate about stand-up comedy. So, when I left Google, should I have pursued it instead of working on my KZread channel? Probably not. People wanted to watch my educational KZread videos because they couldn’t find them anywhere else. On the other hand, there are enough great stand-up comedians out there-- so it would’ve been much harder for me to compete with them. So, I believe that a much better course of action (for most people) is to focus on people’s needs-- in other words, a gap in the market. The more VALUE you provide to the world, the more VALUABLE you become. Once you’re in a strong position like that, you can then slowly shift your work so that it aligns better with your passion :) For more on this topic, I’d recommend the book, So Good They Can’t Ignore You: amzn.to/2gXHuax

I was worried about replacing my high-end older oasis with this one kzread.infoUgkxCgPI5O2AtmcHq9SJhgsCGbpAzJAJfrJp but it is surprisingly light and the screen resolution is just as good. I never had the warm light on my old kindle, but i do not use it on the ipad so I will probably not need it. I think the only thing I'll miss is the self-adjusting light, but this is so worth it!

Helping people is one of the greatest joys in life. My mother works 12 hours a week teaching English and citizenship test to immigrants. But man does she make a difference in their lives. They love her and she is incredibly happy at her job. Congratulations of finding something you love man. I'm working towards an software engineering position so your videos will definitely help me soon.

Pursue your passion! I find that passions and desires always come back to haunt us at some point in our life, even if we ignore/suppress/put them on hold for whatever reason because we are scared/shy/prioritize other things in life. Genuine passions and desires ALWAYS find a way back into our lives, one way or another. So speaking as an Art History major looking to work in tech, pursuing your passion doesn't mean giving up your other aspirations in life! :) Also, I think you have the charisma of a stand-up comedian and people will love your jokes because they will simply be charmed by watching you, as why not give it a shot ;)

He did all that hard work so he could choose to either become a very good youtuber or just work as a youtuber. If he didn't go to college, he probably wouldn't be able to do either of those. College and hard work made it possible for him to make choices in life. Money doesn't always fulfill your happines, often it doesn't. Understanding this is usually only possible when you reach his position, being able to work for google, but choosing to do something that pays less.
