Why I Left Christianity & Converted to Orthodox Judaism | My Story

Jewish Convert//Convert to Judaism/Conversion/How to Convert/Conversion Process
In this video, I am sharing the story of how I left Christianity/the Church and became a convert to Orthodox Judaism. This journey spanned several years, and wasn't always smooth, but I can say it was one of the most fulfilling things I ever did, and I have no regrets. :)

I am currently converting and I grew up a Christian as well and even worked in ministry. I never thought I'd find religion but Judaism isnt just religion, its culture; a way of being. And I like that. Then I found out my great great grandmother was jewish and it just all made sense.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” Jesus (Yeshua) died on the cross, was buried, and ROSE on the 3rd day and DEFEATED DEATH so that none of us had to go to hell🙏🏽 Accept the FREE GIFT that of salvation before it is too late. Religious works and “good works” alone cannot get you to heaven. God is holy and His word says “Without holiness no one will see the Lord” You can claim to be “holy” but it is INWARD and OUTWARD holiness! Those who are deceived in thinking otherwise will fall short! We are called to be set apart in ALL ways, even by looks. If you walk in a worldly setting and blend in know are lukewarm

But I do hate that if you find Christianity right for you that you feel the need to come to this lady's video... Its disrespectful to culture and religion. I found this very informative. My wife and I attended a messianic congregation for a number of years and I have to agree with your general feeling about it. Ultimately, my sense was that these people were more in love with converting Jews than loving the Jews themselves. I also feel that there is a space in this question of conversion that is generally overlooked which is simply that a non-Jew can enjoy the blessings of HaShem in being observant without actually becoming a Jew from a halachic position. I observe shabbat and attend a conservative shul without converting for a number of reasons mainly having to do with my age, having spent most of my life as a Christian and not wanting to cut myself off from grandchildren and other family. Ultimately, it is not about being a Christian or a Jew from a legal standpoint but one's relationship to God that matters.

@@gilyashar My point was that there is another spiritual space available to people other than becoming a Jew or simply following the Noachide laws. A gentile can experience the spirit of God and the spiritual blessings of Shabbat, the wisdom of studying Torah and other benefits that Jews can also experience without converting This is something that was commonplace in the ancient world where many gentiles attended Jewish synagogues, were observant to a limited extent and were also accepted by the Jewish community. This is something that has been lost because of the separation of Christian and Jew that has developed over the centuries.

There is the ONLY TESTAMENT and NOT the old testament. But if you choose to be saved by a man, so be it for you. Albeit is not sure that Jesus will embrace you by making him a God.He did not seek glory for himself. You may have the surprize to be told: Matthew 7:21. "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’@@Armuandist

@@jayellealafi5797 Dr. Benjamin D. Sommer, Professor of Bible and Ancient Semitic Languages at the Jewish Theological Seminary, wrote the following in his book "Bodies of God and the world of Ancient Israel": “Some Jews regard Christianity’s claim to be a monotheistic religion with grave suspicion, both because of the doctrine of the trinity (how can three equal one?) and because of Christianity’s core belief that God took bodily form. . . . No Jew sensitive to Judaism’s own classical sources, however, can fault the theological model Christianity employs when it avows belief in a God who has an earthly body as well as a Holy Spirit and a heavenly manifestation, for that model, we have seen, is a perfectly Jewish one. A religion whose scripture contains the fluidity traditions [referring to God appearing in bodily form in the Tanakh], whose teachings emphasize the multiplicity of the shekhinah, and whose thinkers speak of the sephirot does not differ in its theological essentials from a religion that adores the triune God.”

Be it known: Through the Holy Spirit, God has put it on me to preach to those lost in the devil's deceit! I tell ye, truly, Jesus of Nazareth is the propitiation for the whole world's sins. He is the anointed one, for he is, Jesus Christ. God the Father has raised him from the dead; who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God! Angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life: no one comes to the Father, but by him. They who believe and are baptized with the Holy Spirit shall be saved; but they who believe not shall be damned. For they who believe not on him, shall die in their sins! I tell ye now to repent of your sins, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and you'll receive the gift of the Holy Spirit upon asking the Father! There are *NO* sub-divisions of Christianity. You're either a disciple of Christ or not. A Christian is someone who follows God's word, not a religion. Who obey the Father and follow his will; not man's nor their own heart's. Unless you keep Jesus' commandments, think not the Holy Spirit will dwell within you! They who heed this message and did what was stated with an open heart to God... Read the Holy Bible (KJV) daily and every time before you read, pray to the Father and ask: "Lord I ask that you give me understanding of your word, that I interpret it the way you want me to, and none of my own. I ask you in Jesus' name, amen." 1 John 2:2 KJV 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. Acts 13:26-33 KJV 26 Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, *and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.* 27 *For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.* 28 And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain. 29 *And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.* 30 *But God raised him from the dead:* 31 And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people. 32 *And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,* 33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. 1 Peter 3:22 KJV 22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. John 14:6 KJV 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Mark 16:16 KJV 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. John 8:24 KJV 24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. Acts 2:38 KJV 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Luke 11:13 KJV 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? John 14:21-24 KJV 21 *He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.* 22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? 23 Jesus answered and said unto him, *If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.* 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and *the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.*

I'm actually beginning my path to conversion right now (meeting with a rabbi I hope will become my sponsoring rabbi tomorrow!) and I just love hearing stories of how other converts came to realize that they wanted to follow this path. I didn't know much of anything about Judaism when I was growing up and only really began to do any research and self-education on it when I found out that two of my best friends in high school were Jewish. Ever since then, I've felt such a strong magnetic pull towards and comfort in Judaism that I never found in Christianity or any other religion I learned about. I'm immensely glad now to have a nearby Jewish community in college where I can finally pursue conversion and further education. :)

@@letsknow1491 Christians leave Jesus (peace not be upon the bringer of wars) when they find out he wasn't the promised Jewish Messiah, c'mon you should've already known that haven't you?? The only Prophecy Jesus might've been close to fulfill was the Prophecy of a humble man riding a donkey, but the problem is: Was Jesus HUMBLE!? (Matthew 11:29-30) "29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matthew 12:1-8) "At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat. 2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day. 3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him; 4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests? 5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? 6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. 7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. 8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day." (Matthew 12:38-42) "38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. 39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: 40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. 42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here." Well at least was he riding a donkey?? Depends on the Gospel, according to the Gospel of Matthew he wasn't: (Matthew 21:1-8) "And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples, 2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me. 3 And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them. 4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, 5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass. 6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them, 7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon. 8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way." Well maybe at least he fulfilled the following parts of the prophecy!? (Cuz you know.. every prophecy has a following part) (Zechariah 9:9-17) "9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass." - A HUMBLE man riding A DONKEY (Aside of the poetic expression of two donkeys) "10 And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth. 11 As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water. 12 Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee; 13 When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man. 14 And the Lord shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the Lord God shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south. 15 The Lord of hosts shall defend them; and they shall devour, and subdue with sling stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like bowls, and as the corners of the altar. 16 And the Lord their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land. 17 For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! corn shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the maids." - And BRINGS UNIVERSAL PEACE I mean there's a lotta new testament verses in which JC clearly states that he came to bring wars and division between brothers and sisters, one hating his own wife and children - mother and father, and commanding his disciples (Through a parable) to 'Slaugther' all of his opposers, but that's quite the basis..

You are definitely on the right path and anything you need to move forward on this path, just please ask. Christianity is a big fraud and Evil, is why I left Christianity because of its nonsense and Idolatry, now I just follow the laws of G-d for gentiles. In the new testament literature, Jesus goes upto the Fig tree expecting to eat Figs but the Fig tree doesn't have any Figs because it's not blooming season for the Fig tree, so Jesus kicks the tree and curses the Fig tree because it doesn't have figs, is this your G-d? - a G-d that doesn't even remember when he himself decreed that the Fig will give its fruit - is this who your counting on saving you. In this end of days verse , there's no mention of a Jesus, Christians better wake up and wake up Fast lest you be part of what's coming 👇 8And it shall come to pass throughout all the land, says the Lord, two parts of it shall be cut off. He shall call in My name, and I will respond to him. I said, "He is My people"; and he shall say, "The Lord is my God." G-d has never replace the Jewish people 👇 Psalm 105:8-11 He has remembered His covenant forever, The word which He commanded to a thousand generations, The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac. Then He confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel for eternity. Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments. Deuteronomy 7:12 “Then it shall come about, because you listen to these judgments and keep and do them, that the Lord your God will keep with you His covenant and His lovingkindness which He swore to your forefathers. Judges 2:1 Now the angel of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim. Thank you for the in-depth information. It is very helpful in my search for truth. I appreciate that you respond to so many comments when we know you are a very busy woman. I am curious if you had similar concerns to mine in your conversion journey? I have been exploring orthodox Judaism and I'm reading some of the classic conversion books that are recommended. I find myself connecting deeply with what I am learning. I am hoping there is a path back to God but I remain wary of radical religious thinking that is fear-based and crushes the human spirit. Here is why. I grew up a protestant Christian but searched through the denominations to find the "right way" to worship God until I found Catholicism which was filled with meaningful ritual and theologically deep so I converted. I ended up in a Traditional Latin sect of Catholicism which is beautiful on the surface but toxic underneath with it's heavy emphasis on personal sin and vicarious suffering for other's redemption. (I still have scars from kneeling on the church floor during 2-hour masses/services). 10 years later life came crashing down and I abandoned ALL faith in a God. This may sound like a very silly analogy but it's like a child having believed in Santa Claus who finds out he isn't real. There is no way to believe again because your eyes have been opened. Saying that I am skeptical of religion is an understatement. I "pray" there is a way back to a real relationship with God.

Little Bird, your comment is so touching, I feel for where you are at. Spiritual journeys can definitely be winding and painful at times. May G-d give you strength. I'm happy to hear that you've been exploring Orthodox Judaism. For me, two of the ideas I learned during my own journey that had a profound effect, were that; a) G-d created the world out of sheer lovingkindness, and sustains it for the same reason. How can we not feel thankful and love back? b) G-d doesn't create people that he will then need to "save" (by killing Himself) or serve in any way. I can't accept a religion that teaches otherwise. People are made to know and serve G-d, and our souls know this even if our brains don't. Our soul craves a connection to Him, the Source of All. I hope you will keep going until you find your path. 🤗

I am only asking because conversion is a very big step, since Judaism follow the covenants in the old testament , and do not believe in the Messiah. The orthodox, protestant and catholic views on christianity are very different. The orthodox do not accept the triinity, the catholic well you know that one, and protestant follow scripture first and believe in the triinity ( though they come to very different conclusions based on the church). best wishes.

Felt like you might be a good person to ask, as I've received mixed feedback. Our family has been taking a year (each) to experience different religions/denominations. We have no current affiliation or membership to any group, but are open to anything if we happen to find something that moves us or sparks a light within. We are moving onto year 2 (technically year 3 for me, but 2 as the whole family) and are wrapping up our time with the baptist denomination of Christianity. Our hopes were to move on to Judaism next year (2023) but when I asked about this on social media, one response I received was that Judaism is a "closed religion" and we would not be allowed to "window shop". Have you found that to be true? If that is true, I am wondering how people convert, because I assume they can't just walk blindly into a new religion without first experiencing it. Any thoughts on this? For what it's worth, we'd likely be heading for a reconstructionist or reform synagogue as those are the two closest to us (and honestly I am not sure how welcome we would be at an Orthodox synagogue based on social media comments mentioned above) Loving your content and your journey. I am not now, nor have a been in the past, a Christian because I struggle with many of the core concepts you mention in your video and it is so refreshing to hear them voiced

(masked behind the excuse that they want to know you are serious) Good luck trying to get connected to them, or trying to be accepted under their wing. I have had better luck reaching out to other Jewish groups or synagogues which were not Orthodox. Very different experience, and so welcoming when you meet with those other Jewish groups. Conservative was very welcoming and so are Reconstructionist, or Reform, or those which are not even labeled as such. You have to explore yourself. Happy journey to you and yours.

May G-d be with you as you seek Him. I encourage you to learn Hebrew (all 7 of my kids learn Hebrew). I also agree with comments that say check out Chabad. Ask if you can attend a shabbat dinner and ask questions. The reason conversion is difficult is because you are not only joining a religion but a tribe, and learning the ins and outs of that history/culture/nation takes a long time. And it might not be for you! I had a friend 10 months into her conversion process when she decided to step away and reexamine her beliefs, which everyone respected. I am not familiar with the reconstructionist stream of Judaism and how it differs from reform/liberal. I will say that any conversion that takes less than a year probably isn't valid (I've heard of quicker conversions in Israel but this seems to be the general rule). Truly wishing you the best in your journey.

So, you're asking about what Chumash or Tanach to purchase? (Chumash is the five Books of Moses, while Tanach is the entire 24 books of Torah, Prophets, and Writings). There are many great options out there, such as with/without commentary (and by whom), with/without English translation, different layouts and formats, etc. It greatly depends on what you're looking for. Excellent video! I loved learning about your personal journey that brought you to Orthodox Judaism. :) Please, please do a video on the practical process and what you did! As you went through the conversion process, did the Beit Din have you and your husband change your dynamic at all? Such as having you live separate, no touching, no being alone, etc? How did you two navigate the process? If I may ask. My apologies if that is too personal a question. I agree with you, I see things very black and white, and struggle to see/understand the gray. When I first looked into Judaism, I looked at reform, and thought, "It seems like they're just for the holidays..." Then I looked at the Conservative branch, at first thinking I would practice that, but then thought, "It seems like just anything goes, like they just cherry pick what's convenient for them..." The more I learn about different mitzvahs, and the "why" behind it, the more I want to do and take on of mitzvahs. So Orthodox just naturally became the only real choice for me. Further, like you, I struggle to see "Reform" and "Conservative" branches as real Jews as well. I understand that Jews are supposed to see all Jews the same (Chabad in particular really seems to encourage this mentality), but my thought process is- if I can only be considered a real Jew by converting the Orthodox route (rightfully so), then why is it any different for someone to be born a Jew, but not truly observant (yet they are still considered a "real" Jew due to birth)? Therefore, I struggle to see secular, Reform or Conservative as really a Jew. Orthodox are the only ones truly striving to follow G-d. Though I have to remind myself everyone has their own journey, and at least they are on the path to G-d, and hopefully they will find their way to being observant. I have to say, I have seen a few different Orthodox youtubers do Q & A videos, and they ALWAYS get asked, "What do you think about Jews who are not Orthodox?" And every Orthodox youtuber has a polite way of circumnavigating answering the question. 😆I get a kick out of it. How has your parents handled your conversion? Kudos to you for being the one to look into and encourage your husband to follow Judaism! I think that is great that you were so interested to learn and seek answers. Your skit was hilarious. I truly laughed out loud- and excellent points! The finger lick when the missionary turns the page. 🤣 P.S. Sorry for the book's length of a comment.

Hi Crystal, thank you for this comment! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I will work on a practical conversion information video. 😊 The Bet Din did have us alter our living situation when we reached a certain point. (Keep in mind every Bet Din and every conversion case is unique and may be handled differently.) Just to clarify, I do indeed see non-Orthodox Jews as fully Jewish, by the benefit of their birth. What the challenge was for me and what I challenged my husband with was more like, "how can you say you care about being Jewish when you don't practice or even know what you're supposed to do?" " What is this line between Jewish identity (in the sense of race) and observance and how can it be separated from Torah? You care about Jewish identity but not the religious aspect? I don't, to this day, have a good answer. 😊 But born-Jews who don't practice are still unequivocally Jewish. My parents took it hard in the beginning, understandably. 🥴 But they've come around. I think it's so awesome that you're learning and asking important questions! 💗

@@jayellealafi5797 Yay! I look forward to your next video. I think it's very sweet that you and your husband grew in observance together. I'm sorry, I misunderstood! I understand what you are saying now. For me, when it comes to reform and conservative branches, I understand that everyone has their own path with G-d, and as long as they are connecting to G-d, that is the most important aspect. With that said, I see things very black and white, and although NO ONE is perfect and observant 100% of the time, at least in Orthodox it is clear that everyone is trying their best to be frum, and when I think of Mt. Sinai, G-d asked the people, "Will you follow and accept ALL of My Commandments?" Which is something reform and conservative branches seem to forget, and the half/half approach confuses me. I see it as, "Do you fully believe in Judaism? If yes, then striving to be frum should be the obvious goal. If someone doesn't fully believe in Judaism, then why practice at all?" And if it is a matter of them fully believing, but being unwilling to try to be observant, then how committed to G-d can one truly be? That's just my perspective though. I see things in absolutes, which is why I struggle to see reform and conservative as the same. Hopefully that makes sense. 😆 I'm happy for you that your parents came around! Thank you for answering my questions and for a great video. :)

Our main work on earth is the relationship with G-d, talk to G-d and ask to lead us to the best place, ask his active involvement in our life in a way that I clearly see where I should go. Taking action after such intimate pray is not the same as just running in the world with pride of knowledge. G-d is in everything and he talk to us through the situations, if the door I want to enter is getting open smoothly so it's where I should go, if things are oppose to me - Hashem is talking to me and tells me ''no''. Sometimes we have to be broken in how low we go, in order to reach new heights. I feel this so much right now. G-d is leading and sometimes it feels like we are going on a wild goose chaise but it slowly feels like it’s coming together and is making more sense. The more time passes the more my soul feels and recognizes the clarity in Hashem and in Torah and Mitzvots. Every Shabbat it’s like my body just knows. I spent it watching videos about Judaism and reading etc. As I’m not currently halachic or converting I am able to watch videos etc. But my whole being is aware. Every week it continues to point to Shabbat. Such a fundamental part of a Jewish relationship with G-d. B”H with more time, more clarity. I love your analogy of the door. Because it is open, you need to notice if there are things opposed to it. If it truly is what G-d wants for you. Jesus (allegedly) said in the "new testament," “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food, and my blood is real drink. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me. This is the bread which came down from heaven, not such as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live forever” (John 6:53-58). Yum.🤢

@@Kat-fw5jothis is absolutely not true. Catholics are Baptized. They are not christened, they aren't boats! Often the common saying among people is "a christening", but the ceremony is a Baptismal ceremony.

@@Mr-pn2ehthis is simply not true. Catholics ARE Christians. In fact, as I'm sure you know: "it was in Antioch that they were first called 'christians'". Catholics are, those that know and take their faith seriously, are very offended when Protestants or others say that they are not Christian.

Thank you! Interestingly, my parents named me Jayelle, the literal meaning is "mountain goat." In Hebrew the name is Yael, after the woman in the story of the Book of Judges (ch 4). Jael was the wife of Heber the Kenite. She killed the enemy general Sisera who was fleeing the Israelite army. It's a good story. 😊 I know what it's like to lose all your "friends." At the moment, I am not set up to communicate directly, but if it helps your friend, please share this channel with her. She should know that she is not alone. 😊

Thank you so much for sharing, I grew up a Christian too and I’ve recently been on a journey myself. I’m very fascinated by all this. Learning about the antisemitism of Christianity was one of the most shocking things to learn and I can’t believe I had been lied to about it for so long.

The rabbis and other Orthodox folk were particularly incensed by the claim that spitting at Christians was an “ancient Jewish practice.”Some have maintained that it’s a custom among certain religious Jews to spit on the ground in the presence of “idol worshippers” to ward off the “evil eye.” Christian leaders and others have attributed the increase in these attacks to the presence in the Israeli government of extremist ministers, whom they accuse of encouraging anti-Christian delinquent behavior. (In short u can't judge anyone, in every religion there exist extremist that doesn't mean u define the religion 😊 the problem lies within persons character)
