Why I left BRAZIL for POLAND (and started Myslovitz fan club) [Kult America]

On today’s episode of Kult America we will have a chat with Paul O’Rely, a guy, who organized a brazilian fanclub for a polish band Myslovitz. After 12 years of waiting he went to Poland to meet the band himself and surprisingly fell in love with this country. We will find out how did he discovered the polish band being in Brazil, what was his first impression of Poland, and we will ask Przemek Myszor from Myslovitz about what were his thoughts on this international fanclub.

I am Brazilian and I have been living in Poland for almost 2 years. I really enjoy your channel and I was surprised by this interview with my compatriot. It's good to see that I am not the only Brazilian who fell in love with Poland since the first contact. However, it is true that we all make a great effort to learn the language. I believe it is just a matter of time. Thanks for posting this video. Super!

I widać różnicę w krajach, gdzie USA pomagało i inwestowało swój kapitał, a krajach byłego Związku Radzieckiego.

Dariusz B. I didn't move to Poland to escape violence. I just stated that because Ryan asked if Brazil is a worse place to live than Poland, and I think that violence is the worse thing you can have in a society. And the violence is just a fact, even the safest place in Brazil is more risky than the most dangerous place in Poland.

Just came across your channel, great stuff man!! I'm a Polish immigrant living in the US for the past 30 years, since childhood. I LOVE America, she gave us shelter and opportunity like very few places on earth could. My family has busted our butts since arriving many years ago, have never taken one cent from the system...as you probably now know it's in the Polish DNA to be self-reliant. So I feel I've earned the right to bitch about things that I don't like in this adopted home of mine. Simply put the US of past is NOT the US of today. It's been very difficult for someone like me who loves the US as much as I do ( I think more than the average native citizen ) to watch it's decline and devolution. It's a strange thing to watch, it brings tears to my eyes. So.... After spending all this time in the US ( most of my life as a matter of fact ) I've decided to relocate back to Poland and start a new adventure. The simple version of a reason is that as I get older I've become aware and weary of the American lifestyle. It's difficult to explain to those who have never experienced both but perhaps you'll know what I mean. There is simply a difference of how people in Poland approach life and those in the US. Generally, there being a higher emphasis placed on a better balance between work and actual life. There are of course many other reasons personal and in general but that one seems to stand out some. Anyway, keep up the good work. Cheers

I wonder if Paul knows about the love of samba and bossa nova in Poland - the opposite of his fascination with Myslovitz. I presume he knows by now. During my days in Poland, Brazilian beats defined the sound of student folk and alternative music in the 1970s. To this day, I think, Brazil and its rhythms speak of seductive mysteries and exotic promises. Though I left Poland 35 years ago, I still feel samba in my veins.

Bartek I'm sorry to inform you that it is not. We have around 12 milion unemployed workers, many of them are skilled and well educated. It's similar to the entire population of Czechia. This situation may not last forever, but we can't see it changing on a short term.

Bartek I think that Chile is consistently growing and increasing its standards of living. Uruguay has always been relatively stable and safe to live. Argentina is overcoming a huge crisis and has a great future, if the political scenario allows it. Even Brazil is a possibility, but here there is a waaaay further road to get through. I am not able to speak for the rest of our neighbours as I am not updated about their conditions.

Wayne McLaughlin+ winters in Poland are not so cold like e.g. 30 years ago and earlier any more. the climate is getting warmer also in Poland. UNFORTUNATELY. there is nothing better than frosty, snowy, sunny winter and hot, sunny summer. I hate the sea climate without real winters and real summers. a ROT.

I do not understand why you find the admiration of the Brazilians for Poland very strange. It is estimated that there are between 1.5 and 1.8 million descendants of Poles in Brazil. It is the third largest population of Polish descent in the world, after the United States and Germany.
