The funny thing to me is that Kit felt lacking when comparing himself to Jon Snow, but what I see in Kit is a man willing to learn, evolve, and better himself. He lamented not being better from the start, but ironically, he fits my definition of a good man. He challenges himself and checks his worst excesses, and he shows remarkable introspection. Keep up the good work, mate.

Great interview. But I think everyone is a bit different in how they cope with their anxieties. I never had an addiction problem - but the darkness phases are much longer with me and isolation is not recommended longterm. 🙃 Never really found a good way to cope with some triggers - sometimes Music really helps me when I'm alone outside. Or in groups of people I trust it's better. I really emphasized with his kinda forced ways to escape. I'm now in a place where I can tell those close to me when it's too much and I need a bit of alone time to decompress. Though the cigarette is a sneaky, but probably not the healthiest strategy. Impressive that he leaned so much about himself - though I don't want to discourage anyone but it's probably a lifelong journey to discover more.

Executive Functioning issues. Causes that freeze/fatigue. All part of ADHD. Example: We can all see a fire on the stove and touch it with our hands. Quite an easy thing. But our brains know it'll be painful so it won't let us. That's the neurodivergent issue. It's not laziness (it's chemistry). Our brains recognize tasks as uncomfortable/painful so doing them becomes energy draining. There are ways to trick the brain into enjoying the doing of tasks and there are medications (with a prescription) that aide our brain chemistry.

there are ways to "trick" the brain without medication too. ADHD, ADD, etc. ......these are all new illnesses that have come about by our unnatural ways of living (technological addiction) eating, and disconnection with nature. This is one of the cons of technology; our brains aren't evolving at the same rate that technology is evolving and we can't handle the immense amount of information flooding into our brain. Most Americans are completely addicted to their cell phones; it's become the new lens in which they see and act in the world; looking for a quick rush of endorphins from a 10 second video. I read every single day and I can't tell you how many people look at me with astonishment that I'm actually reading a BOOK.

And now that he talks about it, it's incredible how he managed to embody and act every day considering what he was going through. How unstable he was. And he still came out and greeted the fans for 10 or 15 minutes, always being kind and gentle, giving them hugs and everything. It takes a lot of courage, strength and determination to change, be healthy, be better . What a brave man you are Kit! Brave 👏🏻

I've got ADD (although these days they classify everything as ADHD, since they no longer make a distinction based on hyperactivity) and I can honestly say that ADHD might actually be beneficial in creative jobs. - The downside of AD(H)D is that you're always moving from interest to interest and therefore know a bit about a whole lot of different subjects and/or people. - The upside of AD(H)D is that you're always moving from interest to interest and therefore know a bit about a whole lot of different subjects and/or people, which is great if, for instance, you need reference material to base a character on. AD(H)D makes some tasks very difficult, but it's not only bad, you just need to learn how to deal with the downs and how to appreciate the ups.

All credit to both of you for this interview. An interviewee who chose to answer honestly. An interviewer who asked the right questions, which allowed for those answers. I’m 54 and lost one of my best life long friends to alcoholism a few months ago. We’d know each other since kids, ended up starting a band together. We gigged and toured and even did an album, although unsigned. More than anything we were a true band of brothers. Watching this interview I realise as much as I tried to help him come off the drink over three decades, I’ll always wonder what more I could have done. Heartbreaker for all who loved my mate but maybe if more people see this video, they just maybe able help someone they love, avoid the same fate. Ben, thank you for the video. This interview hits home way too hard. Jon Snow was always my favorite character in the books and then Kit ended up playing him and of course he became my fav in the show too. Sure enough I ran into my own problems with alcohol connected to social anxiety. It would get so bad that I had to get drunk to deal with every social situation to the point where I ended up drinking alone a lot of the time just like he said he did. I went on a 6 month sobriety stint last year but fell off for a couple of months but now I'm back on it! It's always comforting to know that other successful people such as Kit deal with the same issues with the level of anxiety we have and shows that we are not alone and that we can do this. I'm glad Kit is doing well. He's an inspiration and great video!

The whole conversation is more or less about typical ADHD struggles but it's just a side note in this conversation. By the way. Difficulzies holding eye contact is something really common on another spectrum within the neurodivergent cosmos. To force yourself to do it anyways is called masking and drains a lot of energy.

I resonate with what Kit & you were speaking about. I am undiagnosed but everything Kit said about his personality I was like yes yes yes I hear you & being a parent on top of trying to deal with your own issues but still be present for them it's ALOT. I do the same thing to switch my brain off at night but instead of Harry Potter I listen to the Hunger Games books on repeat or the Game of Thrones books I also find because I know what's going to happen it relaxe me & I can drift off eventually otherwise I'd be ruminating over things all night long. I think really understanding who you are & why you are the way you are is so important so you can be kind to yourself & know when you're not doing well instead of turning to things that will just numb it away. I also find when I write things down when I am overwhelmed helps alot so instead of just trauma dumping on the people closest to me is good. Best of luck with your podcast & Kit ❤

Really really happy for Kit🥺😢🥰 I know it must take a lot of courage to face and deal with one's problems because it can be really painful to deal with unhealed scars, let alone the courage to speak openly to the world about it... and I'm really glad that he found that courage, because being honest to yourself will only makes you a better person, it takes time to change and to make peace with yourself but it will be worth it...

If I ever liked Kit… he was/is handsome, interesting, like an ethereal energy going around him and so addictive to watch… Now I not only like him and feel represented… I have gone through addiction to alcohol, drugs, relationships, acceptance, fomo, and now that I am sober, I am aware of the mess I had.. I was also diagnosed with ADD which helped me understand myself. Congrats!! Great episode!! Food for thought and it’s so good to see him on point

Let's hope Hollywood sleeps on him and leaves him alone. Hollywood is kind of sick. It's all about vanity, image, and you have 90 percent of actors saying that it's corrupt and that they feel empty in that industry. This interview is eluding to this. Fuck Hollywood 😊, people don't have to be glamorized all the time.

I’ve just been diagnosed at 43 and every age he’s described I could see my experience so similarly. The need for the recognition for anything positive has been a constant since I was a child and I’m well aware I do it still now 😂. Well done on getting sober. I’m just over 3 years too for different reasons but best thing ever being who I actually am. Thanks for this podcast and sharing so much both of you ❤️

It's so good to hear Kit convey the same feelings I couldn't vocalize myself. It's relieving to know that, despite what he says about himself not on par with his Character Jon Snow as pure goodness, he is a humble, down-to-earth man. I struggle to face my own problems, but hearing his problems and how he copes and how he develop towards the man he wants to be, especially coming from a man I look up to, there's a sense of gift given to me, an uplifting feeling that me and everyone else could deal our own problems even though it may seem bleak. We may not get away from them but we can always try and manage, and I am definitely trying to manage. Thank you for this podcast and please tell Kit thank you as well.

This was such a fantastic conversation! I really enjoyed how honest and deep the two of you got. It was refreshing to see others put to voice the anxieties of life that so many of us struggle with on a daily basis. When Kit talked about how his mind races when he goes to sleep, it was so relatable! I have to have the tv on something I've seen a ton of times so I don't have to pay much attention, but still makes me listen to it, just so my brain will focus on that instead of all of my anxiety, list making, money worrying, task dreading and catastrophic thinking. It's exhausting!!! It was wonderful to see Kit open up like this. I wish nothing but the best for him and his family. I hope we hear more from him. He's very good at articulating his thoughts and feelings. I think it's good for people to hear that even fame, money and success can't stop you from being a human being with issues you have to find a way to deal with or work around. The whole 'all that glitters isn't gold' messaging. I'm so glad we live in a time where people are more willing to discuss mental health and addiction. Hearing that from someone like him might be a tipping point for some to reach out for help - and I am so here for it. Great podcast!

Thank you for this conversation. I think it takes a lot of humility and courage to speak about oneself as Kit has done here. So much relatability. I have struggled with addiction/alcohol (sober 10 years now) and was a very heavy smoker and what Kit was saying really hit home. Stepping out to smoke was always my reset, a way to "breathe" as you are taking deep breaths so there's something there to doing that I think. The restlessness. I quit a few years ago with no slip ups and now -- When I'm working at home on my laptop, I stand up so I can rock and pace. When I get overwhelmed and highly agitated, I clean. I'm always tidying and cleaning things, or cooking or whatever. When people come to my home they say I make them nervous because I never sit down, haha. But, I can't do it for long. Movement, repetition and getting out that energy also focuses my mind. I have 4 kids and its so easy to get sidetracked, off track completely or overstimulated from noise and their energy. I've never been diagnosed with ADHD but I have always suspected its there. Anyway - this was really great to watch. Thank you again. I wish Kit all the best, his work has been a joy to follow over the years.

This is truly wonderful. I think a Lot of people can relate to the social anxiety, the restlessness, etc. But also, and perhaps more importantly, to see someone like kit Harrington, who I think almost everyone would agree, has it going on: handsome, married, kids, successful, famous, wealthy, Also has struggles, is a certain special kind of relief for people. I think people go 'okay, if I had more money, more freedom, more vacations, more this, more that, I'll be happy'. But that's not the answer we think it is, and I think that's important. Amazingly honest and enjoyable conversation
