I personally don’t watch anime. My brother, on the other hand, used to watch MHA, now he’s more of a Demon Slayer fan. But he told me he hates the character Todoroki(might have butchered the name) because everyone was obsessed with the dude. He also hates the ships. My brother is a sane anime fan

I finally joined a server and it turned out they were using the servers to do the most disgusting role playing, and never actually started the game. I was all caught up on the manga, so I just spoiled them on a character death and left.

The shows are too long, understandable. But not watching something because of its fans is a terrible reason. How hard is it to just ignore people? If people who enjoyed your favorite thing suddenly went rogue and started sucking, would you stop liking the thing? You shouldn't, because you should be an independent thinker. I'm not really into video games, and yet it's not because of the gamer stereotypes, some of my best friends are gamers. As someone who watches anime I agree that these stereotypes annoying, weird, and down bad, but I must say that there is a chance of meeting someone normal who watches anime. (and I must say that I am glad that anime conventions in my country doesn't have the degen corner or whatever was it)

Avatar The Last Airbender was the closest thing to Anime I loved when it originally was on TV. I absolutely loved that show. I wish it kept going for the full five seasons

@@gbamuchukwu6775 no don’t get me wrong I think it’s fine it has some good bits and bad I just think objectively it’s not the best anime to start with one for being longer than the average, two because of the negative connotations brought from it based on the fans and three because it just isn’t the best out there. I think anime that can set the tone which shows that anime can be more than the general trope that others think is better like maybe mob psycho or code geass. Of course it’s not an overall rule and some people may just be better suited to starting anime with a more basic formula.

In french class, I used to set next two girl not because I wanted, it because I was calm so the teacher never give attention to me, normaly I won't mind but in that's case they were cosplaying Demon slayer caracther everyday and at Halloween... it was even worse. They even act kinda like there caracther, so imagine for a whole year, you have to set next two girl that were the top of definition of being a fan of something ! ( P.S. Don't mind the error, english is not my native language )

When Adult Swim was brand new, and only aired on Saturday, I saw my first anime and liked it. Then more and more anime aired, and Adult Swim became an "every night" thing. I watched Inuyasha, Big O, Trigun, FLCL and others. But then it got really popular, and I guess I felt oversaturated by it? I'm not exactly sure, maybe I just outgrew it. I went back, recently, and rewatched some of it, but I just can't get into it again.

About the guy in San Diego that makes those cardboard cutouts, I play the same game as him. The fan base thinks he needs to touch grass and we are legitimately concerned about his mental health. I promise the vast majority of us haven’t been like that since 2021. The game is great and you should look into it. Just wanted to clear up that this guy isn’t like the rest of the fan base.

And if you seen a little insider on his life, he's actually a very chill guy. Yeah it might seem like he's down bad on the outside but he's been doing that for years with other things. His parents have been okay with it having fun and messing around the house. (Not the church) (Also a thing to break the fandom is that he never even played the Danganrompa games, he only watched the anime.)

I love the shows but hate their communities.

I completely stopped watching anime because of how stagnant it's become. Like there is legit nothing creative as well as everything that was discussed in this video. You can't even sit down and have a chat about anything anime without ppl gettin down bad for the most lamest of tropes.

Ive tried getting into anime but a lot of anime has fan service and it just drives me away from it because its just uncomfortable to watch.

I don't always really watch anime, I don't hate it, but I don't go crazy in it either. Overall my main reason is it seems like such a huge commitment. And one thing I noticed is some only go for a few seasons, and I'm told its cause they expect/want you to go read the manga's to find out more, which always sounds like it was a pretty lame series tbf. But the main hurdle for me is just the commitment to time, I don't have all this huge amount of free time anymore, and I kinda wanna do stuff other than sit down, now some have gotten me to sit down and watch, but others. No,

I rarely watch anime at times. The only ones I did watch are Yu Yu Hakusho, Hunter X Hunter, Pokémon up until the end of XY, and Hellsing. Even some that are some of my favorite comic books, like Transformers. It has a few anime series since it came from Japan originally as Japanese toys, and I watched things like the Unicron Trilogy and Beast Wars II, which is awesome by the way and criminally underrated. I really don’t like the anime fanbase at all, and is why I tend to ignore it. I even had a former friend at once who shipped Kurama and Hiei and thought they were gay, and I said. “Just watch the damn show! This shipping stuff is cringe.” Yeah. This is why I mostly read comic books nowadays instead of anime or manga, and when I did watch a recent anime in Chainsaw man, which is good. And when my former friend did find out I was reading comics. She just tried to get back into anime, and I don’t want that. Comic books for life!

The only time it is acceptable to say 2D is better than 3D is when talking about animation.

As a retired 63 year old navy sailor who loves anime I do not agree with your philosophy. Before deployment our deck dept shipmates would by whole anime series and watch the together with our fellow shipmates during our time at sea. Was worth its weight in gold. AFN wasn't that great most of the time. Now I watch anime as much or more than even sports and loving it.

Once upon a midnight dreary, as I watch this, weak and weary, I grace my virgin eyes upon what lay before me. The magnitude of the sheer degeneracy I have lay witness to with my set of eyes illudes me to its purpose even currently. Every minute action, every step, flex breath, heartbeat, exudes an aura of tragedy and grief as all I can even muster is watch, watch as the sickness of the world we live in plays out in full in front of me. My heart races as fast as an Olympic runner as I can feel my toes violently curl, as if trying to implode into a ball of nothing. I wince in isolation as I imagine the musk emanating like a sick aura around my nostrils. My pours begin to close as to not let this indescribable monster inside. I silently screech in treacherous agony as I feel my eyes burning, as if some inhuman entity was ripping into them. A silent wail escalates to a labored groan as my eyes shoot open, now viewing my ceiling. Soon after, the thoughts roll in, such simple questions as why? Who? How? Those thoughts solely work to intensify the pain, as I let out a large yelp. I start scratching at my eyes to ease the pain, each solitary scratch another moment forgotten and another thing unseen. After I have finished, I gaze back towards what I think is my screen, press what I assume is my spacebar, and continue to watch what I ascertain to be about wild anime superfans. Luckily, the constant scratching succeeded, and nevermore have I felt the same pain of thousands of thousand degree daggers pierce my very being. Nevermore do I have to fret about the world filled with such beings as the ones who invaded me through my eyes. Nevermore will I ever feel pain again, as nothing can ever compare to that one, small moment. Nevermore.

I watched a japan video from Mrs Eats about fast food. In the dominos section she mentions something called a Tsudere Pizza with is a pizza excessively covered in Jalapenos. This was made for in her own words "Nerdy boys who like anime girls".

This is why I don't openly say I watch anime because people start assuming; the fandoms ruin it for other people and it's so annoying.

not every anime fan is praying to cosplay girls to sit on them. i like to watch anime because i find irl shows/movies kinda boring. i know there's some people that do those crazy things, and they make the entire anime community look gross, but im actually a really chill guy and there are things in the community that are really enjoyable like the animes themselves and their memes (only thing, you have to know about anime to understad them).
