Fat Acceptance Has Gone Too Far...

Fat Acceptance Is Going Too Far...
Today we talk about fat acceptance and why it is going to far. People in this fat acceptance movement are at a point where they are promoting unhealthy behavior and they are trying to make it seem like its perfectly normal to be extremely overweight.

the original idea of “fat” acceptance was for people who were a little bit chubby, plus size maybe to not feel bad about having a HEALTHY body because there’s nothing wrong with being chubby and having a round belly, but the world used to (and kinda still does) make that seem like a big problem, causing perfectly healthy people to feel bad about themselves. But making dangerous levels of obesity “ok” because you have a hard time being healthy isn’t ok. Like most ideas in the world.. this one got turned into something it wasn’t originally ment to be.

I literally don't care. But then promoting it as a good thing and influencing people (especially the younger generation) to go down the lazy, useless and unhealthy route is literally glorifying evil. You should think ahead, about the people that absorb this false information and the children that will grow up with health issues, insecurities and depression because they are built like a fucking marshmellow. Be fat, I don't care. But don't promote it. Don't encourage being in that lazy useless state. Be against it. Don't promote others to be like you. Fat, useless and completely unproductive to society. I use to be in the movement Until I thought I was gonna die. I won’t go into detail but it was serious enough to force me to realize I was literally killing myself. I’m down 40 ilbs of fat now and I’ve been gaining muscle. A bunch of influencers have actually been dying because they just won’t stop eating. When I was 230 ilbs I couldn’t touch my toes, I couldn’t go on a jog, I could barely even go on walks because I’d be sweating so bad I’d get mad. And that’s another thing. I was angry ALL the time. And I thought I was entitled to basically anything and everything. I complained constantly and was in pain ALL the time. I’m not even close to my weight goal (150 ilbs at 5 ft 3) but I feel so so so much better. I love running. I love going outside. I think about everything I missed because I fell into the bs of fat is healthy blah blah blah and I’m pissed at myself for falling for it.

When i was younger i used to eat fast food all the time because it was cheap and we were poor, when i was 11 i got crohns disease now they dont know the true cause but they beleive its because of preservatives and stress(my dad passed when i have 7 so stress prob had a part in it) but people who eat fast food 24/7 that HAVE A CHOICE just kinda makes me a little upset. They could save themselves from lots of health problem but they ruin there furture. Now if people naturally like just on the heavier side a little, makes sense as long as there taking care of there selves, for people naturally skinny like they could be healthy eat lots of food and still be skinny thats ok! Just take care of yourself, accept yourself and be kind to others! Also if your worried for others you can help them be guided in the right direction and help them! Take care and i love you pookies

Bullying a fat person (as with bullying anybody) is fucked up. If someone is fat they shouldn’t be seen as less human because of it. Being extremely overweight (more of them then not) is not healthy but berating someone over it won’t cause them to go to that path. And if they chose not to, then that’s their choice and they shouldn’t me made to feel as an other

Actually statistics prove poverty actually causes obesity because the affordable food is calorie dense but lacks nutritional value so people in poverty need to eat more to get what their body needs. People are too quick to jump to conclusions instead of actually researching the topic so it causes harmful misinformation to spread. What’s happening in the fat acceptance movement currently is an example of this. Especially when we also have to consider the psychology behind those people. And a shocking hypothesis that psychologists are thinking about is the frequent shaming and mocking of the previous generations that were overweight not only triggered eating disorders and trauma but also taught them to respond with the same socialisation they experienced but twisting the roles. I mean if you look at the stuff fat acceptance extremists say but flip the roles where is skinny people saying it to fat people you’ll see it’s actually really similar to bullying fat people experience. It’s kinda funny how it’s acceptable for fat people to experience this but when it’s skinny people it’s suddenly “humanity’s doomed” like many in the comments are saying. At the end of the day it’s not really about being lazy or greedy but it’s a symptom of any different conditions or situations.

You feel hella insecure about yourself, constantly wear baggy clothing, and hate the way you look. Looking back, all i did was sit all day, play videogames, and munch on whatever i felt like. I changed my lifestyle for the better, started working out, going outside, ate more protein and less sugar, and i am still playing videogames lmao, but this is a message to never give up, you CAN change for the better if you put your mind to it. Consistency is key folks.

73 kg/160 lbs here, always been "the fat one"- and I still am. As much as I've always tried to say "I'm happy in my body", I always knew I was lying to myself. Whenever I sat down, I could feel my own fat, and it made me so uncomfortable. I would never go swimming with my friends because I felt too fat to take off my hoodie. I went walking in the woods for hours just to feel safe from people and their comments. I've never had a girl because they were always creeped out by my massive weight and my disgusting grub body. I think if fat acceptance meant "don't harass/torment fat people in public just for being fat" I'd be all for it. What they call "fat acceptance" is actually enabling them in the same way the pro-anorexia and pro-bulimia movements are. But it's okay to admit and acknowledge that being morbidly obese isn't healthy. I mean, I'd date a guy that weighed 800 pounds but I'd want him to lose weight so he could live longer. You can be nice and kind to fat people and treat them with human dignity and respect without lying to them like they're too fragile to handle the truth. How you deliver the message is important as well.

The fat acceptance is a mirror image of what the bullying they grew up with. The thing is you can’t exactly blame them for doing what they have been taught to do by the media and society as a whole. Also people are actually very uninformed about what healthy body weights are. Men are supposed to have 17-21% body fat and women are supposed to have 25-30% body fat according to recent research. People who fall within those categories are considered obese despite that actually being the healthiest weight.

Actually the psychology is “I am constantly being harassed and bullied by people who fit in this category, I have negative feelings about them and want to avoid them.” If anything it was actually psychologists that started the movement because they found that the rejection and negativity shown towards overweight people actually made the problem worse but showing acceptance and respect helped them. Thing is the world never truly accepted fat people and only got worse with their treatment by extending it with exploitation by companies and the media.
