In defence of Kik, back in the days (2012-2016) everyone I knew were using Kik. It is what was used to communicate in early to mid high school years among the classmates until Instagram and Snapchat took over.

4chan is an cp farm, reddit is actually full of neckbeards, tik tok kills your attention span and sexualizes people, discord has many cp servers and weirdos, and twitter is an nuclear wasteland which is beyond levels of toxic

Telegram is actively used, but in Eastern Europe, by Russians, Ukrainians etc. It was created by Russian programmist. It is pretty popular here Though some of them use it for drug selling. Also it allows some NSFW content, like gore for example I myself didn't expect it getting mentioned here

Social Media just shows users their true colors. Nowadays I have KZread, Skype, and Discord. I quit using the popular social media accounts and deleted those accounts due to how bad and toxic social media is.
