Why I converted to Islam (Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad) Part 1/2

Timothy Winter's (Shaykh Abdul Hakim Murad) BBC Radio 3 interview on his conversion to Islam with Joan Bakewell.
Joan Bakewell talks to Cambridge University chaplain and Muslim convert Tim Winter, known as Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad. He explores the moral sense of the sacred, instilled in him by his mother, his search for a connection with his creator and what it means to be a Muslim convert in Britain today.
Winter made his own journey towards Islam via the Unitarian church, bringing Western academic methods to his studies of Islam and its history. He is strongly critical of Wahhabism and of the kinds of Islamic interpretation and fundamentalism which underlie extremism and justifications of violence. A participant in inter-faith dialogue at high levels, he has recently returned from the Vatican in an attempt to improve Muslim Catholic relations. (December, 2009)

I have the same issues as Shaykh Abdul. I think the church has treated Jesus as someone in a tabloid. Who was Jesus really??? Can you rely on the bible as the Gospels were not written till 100ad and nobody kmows who wrote them. Jesus told fave the sermon on the mount in which he outlined those who God wants. Yet we then go on and say it doesnt matter what you do as long as you believe Jesus? Well Jesus was a man who clearly showed us that we need to love and forgive? He even said those who judge will be judged. Jesus didnt' know in Matt 24 when he would return but omly his heavenly father. Well if Jesus was God he clearly would have known wouldn't he I to feel drawn to Islam

Islam is the final revelation.. the only truth to life. As much our brains try to think about life and our existence, we can never find the answer unless you deeply understand Islam. The universe is full of unexplained occurrence which even scientists cannot explain. Where does an atom comes from? When did all this start? There is a Creator. Allah is the one and only Creator. Allah the Creator is Infallible. The Most Powerful and Merciful. Humans are nothing but His Creations. That is why Muslims accepts the Islamic way of life. But of course there are those who uses Islam in the wrong way. God gave humans the mind for a reason, to know right and wrong and everything in between. ISIS is wrong, they chose not to use their brain and their compassion.
