مُحَمَّد‎,ﷺ Live as long as you want, but you must die; love whatever you want, but you will become separated from it; and do what you want, but you will be repaid for it.” Imam Al-Ghazali

The best thing I learned from this lecture: the primordial nature of man is beautiful and repentance is a self-discovery act

I would suggest typing in Breaking The Two Desires - Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad He covers more of Ghazali's works in those videos. May Allah protect the Shaykh and may we benefit from the teachings of Ghazali.

There are two very good abridged versions of it in English. I own both of them. Many of the books have also been separately translated by the Shaykh and others in the "Islamic texts Society".

Orlovna- Your ignorant about the history of the world we live in. There's disgusting violence spinning from secularists and co religionists, but in the Quran it is well know that killing an innocent is like killing the face of humanity. But you seemed just concerned about Islam.. Do you care to read about the Monguls, crusaders, ww1 and we 2, the suffering of the Palestinians at the hands of Zionism, or the genocide of the Armenians at the hands of the Turks?

Repentance is GOOD if you "renounce" & "denounce" the violence that is in Islam. If not, there is no goodness, in your religion: for, can a vine make both sour & good grapes, at the same time? Or, rather, make the vine entirely good (with good fruit), or make it entirely bad (with sour grapes). Can oil and water mix? And, if YOU don't denounce (and renounce) the violence of your religion, who will do it FOR you?? (I see enough "sour grapes" or BAD FRUIT so I am not interested, at all!)

So funny! You should be a sardonic comedian! Quran actually has been researched by British scientists and they have already demonstrated that Islam has much less violence than other religions. Islam: no genocide prescribed by our God Almighty in His wisdom No rape marriage in our book of Guidance No murdering children or civilians in our book, dear. No murdering the ancients or people of another religion. No murder without Just Cause. Sura 17 No need for having a man or good woman killed in order for another to gain salvation. No need for fancy, rich buildings that can become the den of thieves as the Prophet Jesus warned for those who lean on his teachings instead of the imposter Saul-Paul No need to denigrate another group’s way of life to laud one’s own achievements through Faith and Good Works No need to obey a man “for you will certainly get lost” if “you obey a man such as yourselves.” Quranic guidance No need to join partners with Almighty God (Allah) No need to make other religions feel invisible as black peoples and brown people were treated in some countries. 😊 No need to commit adultery or fornication to feel better about one’s body or gender. No need to become partially nude or scandalous in order to receive recognition by good people and Allah
