I drove 2800 km on holiday this summer in an EV that does 150-200km, all the way to Lithuania. This was the big issue that this was possible for me. I don't use my car for commuting, only for shopping or family visits, so it is really only for vacations I need the range. Charged for free where available and paid in total 18 EUR the few places with no free charging. I loved my previous gasoline car that had excellent fuel economy, but because of increasing taxes and parking permits for living in a big city, I found myself paying more to own the car than I did for gasoline. So getting an EV was an obvious way to save money. So you can say that I was forced into buying an EV because of increasingly stricter environmental laws. If I lived in the country side like you, I would have kept my gasoline car, also I have a diesel heater in my EV, so range is not significantly affected in winter.

the number plate on the mondeo says LV so I'm guessing that in Latvia
