been playing since 2020 off and on for usually a month at a time with a few month break every so often as my pc has been in various states of 'needs to be repaired' and 'needs to be upgraded' but now im back to playing regularly for the lasy half a year again and nearly at my first 1000 hours and can say i have 100% had a shity ton of funny situations primarily around the fact that i play solo and primarily only in solo v duos because necromancer keeps me at 3 star meaning playing against trios only lowers the level of my enemies more because of how solo queing works and i dont wanna crush the balls of innocent 1 and 2 star hunters who dont even know they can, let alone SHOULD burn any and all bodies they see after looting them.... i cant really think of any specific situations tho right now aside from 2 recently where one involved me showing up to one of the compounds being fort bolden if ya know where that is and after fighting till literally 8 minutes left, i pushed the last solo who refused to work together with me and just have us both extract with out own tokens and pushing him to run into a trap i set in the entrace to the little mineshaft tunnel under the fort where i than burned him and watched him die for his arrogance of trying to ignore friendship with than another time of a dude who i started working with at alan who after running into his own trap, i can only assume THOUGHT i shot him and so he perma killed me and broke my heart making mer swear off EVER working with another solo again until i did so the next match i played the next day cause i needed to take a break cause of how badly ewhited99 hurt my heart.........

12:50 dont worry, as many of us who have played long enough like to say, hunt is a game wit ha 1000 hour tutorial before you can say your average at the game and know a thing or two so you have time to learn >:D

Just got into the game with my friends this year. My favorite moment so far involved me using the proximity chat to negotiate with an enemy team bunkered down inside the boss' lair. Using a cowboy accent I managed to convince the bounty holders to let us take 1 of the 2 bounties if we let them revive their partners. It was stupid funny to hear a bunch of giggling cowboys be all diplomatic in this stressful game lmao

Had a great game once where i was a solo with a bow, somehow managed to kill 5 players who were fighting each other as well as bounty team. turned out the bounty team was a solo. He was chill and we both got out with a bounty.

I had a similar things...enemy team posted upstairs with my dead (rando) teammate, and I'm downstairs blocking their exits. I negotiated to facilitate their escape in trade for the life of my teammate.

I played Tarkov for 2800 hours. I left one wipe ago. Now I'm a committed, hat-wearing Hunt Showdown-fan. This game is SO GOOD. Just being able to play a match without worrying about frequent DC:s, desync, PiP-lag or other. The loop is so chill, and the event that is going on right now is a blast. The devs listened to virtually all the feedback from the last event, and made sure that fans would be happy. Buy it!

@@greatrulo Yes, the game is very popular and you don't wait for more than a minute to find a match with full lobby. I play this game for about 80 hours now and I can't stop xD. It's a real addiction and it is extremely fun. The player base is pretty chill and if you queue up with a random that's better than you he will 99% time do his hardest to help you and teach you, I've made so many friends since i started playing that it's insane.

3500 hours into Hunt now and I still feel the itch to play every night after work.. This game needs more attention, if only they advertised better.

@@johnnymcnamara4024 bro that stuff literally happens on PC. Half the time the textures don't load, and while looking at certain directions your frames drop. I look left, 120+ frames. I look right 80~ frames. They clearly have zero idea how to utilize RAM. Thats literally what RAM is supposed to do but crytek is too incompetent to optimize anything.

Same, im at 2200 hrs in and still get the itch. I started playing about 3 or so months before the original twitch drops and its been a blast. It's the only game i can get mad at and be back in the menu with my friends and still be like, "Ready up, guys."

Super potential on this game, DJANGO here 3k plus hours and 5 to 6 years playing the game. I would say thatci saw every change on the game and is super great other that every character share the almostvthe same voice actor but the gun play and the sound owith a night map is the rush

also, the maps are fucking amazing. the verticality, the density and all the little sneaky routes and hideouts. also, they are just gorgeous to look at. and during the event, when parts of it are set on fire, this is taken to a whole new level

My best Hunt story (1.2k hours) is when my friend shot a frag that was thrown at us mid-air. He killed both of our enemies and both of us with that one shot.

I always have been a really competitive player, and mostly played games like CS, League of Legends, Apex, Fortnite (and more) for 10 years. I'm now 24 years old and just recently realized during a very sweaty game of Valorant that I just did not have fun anymore. I was just playing to get a better rank, mosty solo because my friends did not try hard as much as me. I now have a job and do not have the time and energy to try and be as good as the other players that are playing all day long. But on a random night, hopelessly scrolling on the Steam store (probably after getting absolutely destroyed on the same videogame again, giving my heart and soul to try and be better at it) I happened to buy Hunt: Showdown. I started a game and got killed again, and again. But this time it was just different, for some reasons (that you already talked about in the video), I couldn't stop playing and wanted to try again every time. I have now almost 600 hours into the game and I can tell that's it's probably the best PvP game i've ever played. It just made me enjoy videogames again. I even convinced my friends to play it with me and I did not have fun like that on a game since a very long time. My point is that if you ever felt like your passion for videogames is fading, maybe it's time to get back to the basis and just dive into a very immersive game. And for that, maybe Hunt: Showdown is a solution for you.

my best moment in hunt was a game were the boss got banished in the middel of the map, and everyone rushed to the boss and met up at the same time for a massive shootout between 12 players, i died but that was a weirdly epic firefight and the sound of rifle's, revolver's and shotguns going off, firebomb's being thrown ugh it still gives me goosebumps :D

I really wish I could play this but the fact I'm deaf in one ear renders me practically blind. I tried playing it once and a dude snuck up behind me and followed me for five minutes before I realised. And I realised because I got a shotgun blast to the head

Yeah I've lost around 30% of my hearing in my right ear and I can't imagine what it's like playing with only one working ear drum

i love tarkov but it has you in a constant state of needing a god damn cigarette.

For a review with only 20 hours. You got a lot right! I have 300 hours and it's by far the best all around game right now.

When you said bounties take 5 mins, I felt that in my spirit. It’s the longest 5 mins I ever experience.

I love coming across videos like this. I have played Hunt for a few years and have many hours into the game, and yet it amazes me that so few people seem to know about it. As such, I’m always pleased to see new people giving it a shot and enjoying as much as I do.

One of my favorite moments ive ever had in a game came from this one match in hunt showdown. Spawned right next to the bounty on Port Reeker. Took the bounty and turned on dark sight. Saw that the entire rest of the trio team server was there. Hunkered down for about 20 minutes. Revived my random teammate at least 8 times with necromancer because 50 last health chunk. Everyone died until it was just me and one other person. We traded. Nobody won. Everyone lost. Best game ever

Just started today. I was somehow able to takedown a duo as a solo, just kept picking at them while they were fighting the boss. They got dark sight and wanted revenge, but confidence only gets you so far when I can hear they're coming and I have a Romero. After one fatal peek for one of the hunters, the other whiffed a couple shots and I was able to get them with my revolver. My heart was jumping out of my chest and that remained until I extracted. Man, that felt good.

Amazing video. I’ve been playing Hunt since 2019 and after 1800+ hours I can confidently say it’s one of the tightest games I’ve ever played. Hunt bleeds atmosphere and tension and even as a veteran I still encounter those heart pounding moments and gunfights thousands of hours later which no other game could do for me. The devs keep updating the game and the events, which were lackluster, keep showing signs of promise and keep getting better. There’s honestly never been a better time to get into Hunt and as a member of the community I thank you for this awesome video. See you in the bayou Hunter.

I love the style direction Hunt Showdown took, it looks super realistic yet almost like a painting.

2:40 you can get the relevant “Iron” sight traits to prevent your hunter from Zooming in and out of sight when cycling shoots, Iron repeater in the case of levering action weapons such as the winfield aperture, iron sharpshooter for Bolt action rifles, Iron devastator for the specter and the slate, and “Scopesmith” traits for the relevant scoped weapons, Deadeye, Marksman and Sniper, not only these traits prevent you from zooming out, they also make you cycle ammo faster while aiming downsight so you actually get a little firerate boost when you have these traits

Its called iron sharpshooter but that doesn't help when you don't always want to stay zoomed in and the aperture zooms way to much for that small fov, it actually hurts trying to use it

@@Farekim It is uncorfomtable but I always thought that was intentional. I don't think it defeats the purpose of having a long range sight because you can flip it to get into shorter range engagements. If the sight was easier to use at shorter ranges, there would be no reason to pick scopes over it. It is a niche but I wouldn't consider it badly implemented.

It has the most rewarding but also punishing combat in any pvp fps I’ve played. The highs of landing a clutch headshot or wiping a squad to the lows of dying to pvp or whiffing an easy shot while your teammates spectate.

Robokast thanks for making me addicted to subnautica. As for hunt showdown, this is a game i have played for hundred of hours and well, it is indeed a fantastic multiplayer experience.

The sound quality in this game is stellar aswell

1:04 it's actually Louisiana instead of the world, but you do get to play as hunters who travel to Louisiana from around the world. Small nitpick I know, but I think it's worth pointing out so that new players will know to expect mostly swampy/farmland environments. Great review as always, Robokast :) thank you for discussing a game that's underappreciated in my opinion

One thing I don’t really see mentioned that often about this game is it’s ambience. That feeling when you’re stalking a player in dense fog or freeze in the middle of the woods bc you think you hear footsteps and just crouch there listening and all you hear is the ambience of eveything in the woods is unmatched for a pvp

What I really like about Hunt Showdown is that it's not just about having good tracking/aim. Positioning yourself properly, taking advantage of NPC positions, stealth skills, setting up well-placed traps, and good team coordination can give you a fighting chance over very experienced players. I'm in my early 30s and I don't have as much time for video games as I did many years ago so it's refreshing to start up a Multiplayer FPS game that gives me a fighting chance just by using my brain and not needing 1000+ hours to get an aiming technique good enough to survive the 'hardcore gamers' of today.

It's always fun to sneak up on a player and realize you are so significantly outgunning them, that it's just more friendly and sportsman like to be like, "Hey, I'm uh.. right behind you bud, sorry, but I've basically won so.. let's just call it a draw?" I've made two or three friends that way.

I will always love Tarkov and play it all the time but recently I have been having more fun with hunt and think it deserves more recognition

I think the biggest thing about this “battle royale” over the others. Beyond the aesthetic and theme. It’s the perks. In that you level up your character and you feel like your working towards something. Tarkov doesn’t have this. It’s solely about getting the bigger and badder weapon. Which is. Whatever. But I like the sense of attachment to my character in that they feel special and i am improving them with each run. So when I die and loose my gear. Sure that’s on my mind. But I feel real loss of my character and the person they were. Not just the gear. I think that’s something that really makes this special to all other “battle royales” out there.

I was playing hunt earlier with a friend and we said “wanna live out the quiet life or die in the blaze of glory” and began using massive six shooters to take out small grunt zombies Needless to say we ended up extracting with 1 bounty and like 5 elims

I once had a match where my entire team had a bounty and we charged the other bounty team, we all jumped through Fort Bolden's front gate when it had fire and we didn't see the explosive barrel in time and we ended up wiping ourselves out and lost our bounty. I also we playing duos and witnessed someone knife a torch grunt right next to an incendiary barrel.

From someone who has 8,600+ hours and is #2 in the world for kills which is 42,000+ kills. I absolutely love this game and I want it to grow to the level of every other great game is out there. If this game died I would probably quit playing games and stream in general. If you are looking for different with a heart pounding experience then give Hunt: Showdown a try :)

Really good video! I have over 2500 hours on this game, and I can't get enough. It never gets boring. About the menus, it is known that they're getting a rework :)

You didn't really mention alternate rounds which add nice flavor to your load outs! Fmj turns walls into ideas, and bleed ammo/incendiary sacrifice wall pen for huge pressure if you hit the enemy

And poison ammo prevents the enemy from healing making them really good to supress them and move to another position, extra points if there’s a meathead around them since they’ll chase the enemy until the poison is over

The sound in this game is amazing especially if you already memorize the map you can tell where your opponents is just by listening to the sound of wood, water, steel doors,or even fallen branch that got stepped on, I did got saved once by that tree branch

You’re video is what sold me on getting the game and I gotta say within 1 week it’s easily became my favorite game I can’t stop playing it 😂

Liked the vid, always happy to see hunt showdown get more attention, but around 10 minutes into the video you say “unlike Tarkov, hunt has a big focus on PvE” and no, that’s is not true. Tarkov AI actually pose a threat we’re as the AI in hunt is all medial and any player with a few hours under their belt and some common sense can dispatch of them easily. The AI in hunt is more of a sound trap and a way to keep you in your toes during PvP engagements

it's the same in Tarkov, scavs are generally pretty easy to kill, the exceptions are bodyguards and bosses or raiders.

Im tarkov veteran but switched to hunt and never looked back again to tarkov , Hunt my Main Game now and for me the best game and adictive as hell, also the most satisfaction when kill enemy is here on hunt feels so nice to get one.

Great video! I’ve owned this game since 2018 but actually just started playing it about 3 months ago because 2 of my other friends decided to pick it up and we’ve been sinking major hours into it. Idk if you play on west coast servers but im pretty sure I recognized you and your friends name at about 9:46. GG’s out there!

Absolutely my favorite game of all time. Haven’t really done Tarkov but I’ve played enough of the modern setting, not to mention been on a modern battlefield. The Atmosphere in Hunt is what keeps me coming back. I love the 19th century weapons and setting, as well as the fantasy twist. Extracting with the bounty is still amazing and dying sucks but isn’t soul crushing. I try to recommend this to everyone, the problem is you forget how much there was to learn as a newbie. Psychoghost has literally hours long/hundreds of tips and tricks and that only scratches the surface

The best memory I’ve had with this game was after we cleared both bounties, on our way to the extraction we ran into 2 teams camping our exit. We had a 10 minute shootout in a relatively open area desperately trying to leave with all our shit. It was great

I hear ya on the menus. Been playing since early access, they've been changed to be more streamlined a time or two now. It seems of all the things that Crytek has done to make Hunt a good game, they forgot to take the class on "How to make a good menu UI" lol. It's good to see more people getting into the game though, Hunt has had its ups and downs but its biggest problem was always player count. Here's hoping stick around for many more hours to come!

I think the extremely expansive lore and world could have been touched on a bit, and that the importance of audio in hunt could have been a bit more present in the vid. Other then that, amazing vid, glad to have u out in the bayou

1000ish hours in and it is my favorite game hands down. The experience is definitely better with a friend than solo; although, it isn't to bad. You just have to be more cautious in gun fights and try to make a 1v2 into 2 1v1s and just be confident in your abilities. Quick play is great because it's basically free money, hunters, and weapons if you win.

In terms of sound I remember i think Psychoghost talking about being able to see with your hearing when I first started playing and thinking "what does he mean thats weird" now over 1000 hours later I 100% know what he meant the audio in hunt is so good you really can build a 3d enviroment in your head just from the sound alone.

i dont think tarkov and hunt share that mutch, the only thing it is that they are both extraction shooters and thats it. really different games, and the biggest difference for me its that hunt is a COMPLETE game it fells complete and working, they have a FULL and WELL MADE game and they release great content for it in events like this current event that is really good. While tarkov is a incomplete game that is and will be in Beta stage for a long time, lots of problems, lack of content, etc. Hunt is great and more people should know about it and give it a good try but stop going to it thinking that its like tarkov, the gunplay is WAY different the game is WAY different

Tarkov has way more content then hunt... Hunt is way more stable and the gameplay loop is less stressful too, so It has better just fun replayability. Hunt is kind of relaxed just lets have fun after tarkov. Tarkov on the other hand is way more stressful and "competitive", which makes it draining, but also more fun and more adrenalin when you are immersed in it.

I've watched a handful of videos on this game over the last week trying to decide if I'd get into it or not and I'll say your review is by far the most interesting to me, your take on it feels more organic rather than some of the others I've watched that feel overly forced and scripted. Love the video, and now I'm just waiting for this game to install so I can see how many times..in a row I'll be dying lol.

Maybe I missed it but I think the proximity voip is something I experienced for the first time in in HUNT and it can lead to great alternative gameplay other than just killing each other. Bartering and deals can be had if you find yourself in a tough situation - sometimes pleading for your life can save your hunter. Just watch your back because a player's word doesn't weigh much in the bayou.

I love hunt because any gun can one shot in the right hands even the derringer and the perks let you build you character however you want

Been playing Hunt for just over a year now and I have over 1900+ hours played. Might I add I have a full time to support my family! Hunt is by far the best video game I have ever played in 40+ years of playing video games. Yes is that good! The sound is amazing and once again it is easy to say it is BY FAR the best implementation of sound produced in any game. The fact that the game is only $40.00 is googling to me but it is worth every penny and then some, and they run half off sale all the time so you can actually pick it up for 20.00. It is a no brained buy Hunt you will not regret it,

The rain comment at the beginning is very appropriate considering the recent Hunt update!

About the sound design: Dark and Darker is the reason I'm looking into getting back into HUNT Showdown, and the sound design was part of what blew me away about dark and darker. It's crazy how much it helps immersion

Bought it back in beta, played for about 10 hours solo and the game does give so many reasons to uninstall after your first few matches but little over month ago i gave it another try because i always knew that i would love it if i would just take my time to learn it and now at 100hours steady at mmr 4-5 absolutely loving it. 100% agree with not getting mad at this game like the others :D

picked this game up during covid lockdown, im about 3000 hours playtime on hunt and im finally getting good at it xD and we still hum the theme song on the menu

Just downloaded the game but wanted to some background on it and it looks amazing and you made it sound pretty fun bro... But it looks scary as hell. Just playing COD zombies makes me think that tonight is my last night lol

I have horrible aim. After 415 hours in this game, my aim is still awful, but I do ok because I've become better at positioning which is way more important in this game than aim. I was playing solo the other day and I came up to a fight over the single bounty on the map. I was creeping up with my veterlii with little confidence that I would get a headshot and down someone. I sneak up behind this barrel to try to get an angle on the one or two people left in the fight and on the barrel is what I thought was a shotgun, I think to myself, "I could sneak up with a Rival and take the last guy out before he raises his friend." I look at the gun, It's not a Caldwell Rival. It's a Nitro Express. Randomly sitting on this barrel is the most expensive gun in the game. I grab it, aim in the general direction of the last surviving hunter who is currently raising his friend, and I fire. It hits his hand. He is downed. I take the bounty, loot all the bodies, and leave like the little rat I was. I felt like I was playing a part in a dark western. It felt so legitimate, the luck felt real and predictable at the same time. It was as if I were walking into fate on the great old western screen. Few pieces of media can immerse you into the role of a cold-blooded, old-western gunslinger than Hunt: Showdown.

Maybe Im wierd but after few thousands hours in Hunt I realize the thing I enjoy the most in this game is the sound and MANILY the music that comes woth it.

Trials gives you weapons + skins if you are interested in that. The menu is horrible though, but learn to use the custom load out option (where you can save variants and add an entire loadout with a single click) and also the star system. If you star your favourite items / high use items, you can filter and simply double click to add to your hunters inventory. Welcome to the Bayou. Many more horrors await you

1700 hours in and I’m still having a blast on this game, it’s like no other.

2000 hours in on PlayStation 5 and now looking at switching to pc. Truly can’t seem to get enough of it now after 3 years of playing. Everyday or at least every other day I feel the urge to play. I’ve never played a game more than this one and it’s wild to see most people who play it play it like crazy.

Pc is a way better experience :) i play on pc and its adictive and mouse and keyboard make the possibility of play insane

This was the game that made me realize I was playing videogames without directional audio for over a year 💀

I have now 320h in Hunt Showdown and i can't stop playing this game. I play like 4-5 hours every day. That game have awesome pvp, pve, guns and more. I really enjoy quick play (battle royale mode) and trials. I bought also some DLC's.

Tbh, I've got this game since day 1 of release been in and out but mostly inn. Love the game specially the way it makes me feel like I'm bad ass bounty hunter every time we do a server wipe

2000 hours deep into hunt showdown, got my own playstyle as the Patient sniper (yeah i get hated for this) Its so insane that good patience and focus pays off in this game.

Hunt Showdown is a vastly underrated game which needs more spotlights on it. The bayou and Mr. Chary, always needs new hunters >)

The "Battleroyal" mode is singeplayer only. You have to collect four clues, and then stay alive. If you are the last one staying alive, you keep your hunter from this match. He has some levels, for every clue he has a random trait, he keeps his weapons and tools and he has some points for more traits. It's good mode to warmup when waiting for you friend. You lose nothing, because you get everytime a new free hunter every round. And if you prestige, it's a good way to level up weapons fast. Oh, and it's a lot faster. The player make more noise, running around, getting the final clue first (You get money for every second you hold the last clue). Because you lose nothing, only time. But getting money and XP every round, even if you are not the last man standing. In the trials mode, you can first freely roam around and look at the map. You can test your guns and tools (if you die, you come back to life. It's a tool to test weapons and learn the map). And some trials help you, to learn the map or the shooting. The "parcour" trials get realy hard with every level, so you must look for quick ways to get around in the compounds. You find new "hidden" ways to get around or where you can jump on. And for completing trials you get free money, weapons and skins for some weapons.

I'm nearing 800 hours total of Hunt (600ish on PC and around 200 on PS4) and I gotta say, it's like cocaine to me. No matter how much it hurts, I always want more. The feeling of getting a lucky headshot on your last sliver of health, pin pointing somebody's location through their footsteps and blasting them to pieces with a shotgun through a wall, or server wiping with nothing but an axe are the things that keep me coming back even after loss after loss after loss. Something that I'm sad you didn't mention in this video is the proximity chat. The voip in this game has given me some of the best experiences of any game. I've talked my way out of a fight only to betray our truce and leave with both bounties. I've teamed with random people in the game and server wiped with them, splitting the bounty. I've been shit talked and mocked only to kill all three of them by myself. What separates this game from other shooters is that every play style is viable. Diplomacy is possible in this game. Stealth is possible. Long range bush sniping is viable. If you can think it, you can do it. TL;DR Get Hunt: Showdown. It's the most unique game out there, if you're bored of shooters, you won't get bored of this game.

can this game be play as single player- story mode, or would i need a yearly membership...?

back when i used to stream on twitch with friends I had plenty of funny moments and hard fought battles. one of my favorite times was when me and my guys were in a situation where we got a guy hostage with both his partners downed and so we had some fun. held him hostage for twitch follows. to say the least it was the funniest moment ive ever had in the game. funniest part was one of my buddys got a prime sub. great game VOIP/prox chat is amazing in this game and creates so many funny moments

Hunt is the best shooter out there with constant updates visually and gamplaywise it’s just getting better I’m playing since before the 1.0 patch and still hopping in to the game almost every other day to have an amzing experience all over again. keep playing and I will ensure you, somday you will swiftly move trough the bayou like cowboy-batman. Always be as fast as you can and as loud as necessary and you will live to die another day

With almost 500+ hours in hunt and no slowing down this game is the only game I play most of the time. I will admit that I bought this game about 6 month ago because a friend said I should try it....well I got hooked actually started playing solo once we put about 40 hours in as a trio (solos as a newb is scary af). But the payoff is worth it you learn little tricks to give you an edge and the first time you tomahawk someone with a shovel there is no going back you strive to get that clip over and over again. I will say though the mmr system for skill matching stirs up some interesting loadouts and playstyles with most (average) players being mmr4 when you cross into 5 and 6 mmr its like playing a completely new game because everything you have learned to give you an edge this far is useless. The game is a masterpiece and the people who play the game are a masterpiece as well.
