Hershey could stand to lower the amount of sugar they put in a bar by a little bit. I like it and it’s cheap but still. Their special dark needs a lot less because it defeats the purpose of dark. People who like dark like the bitterness. Adding 20g of sugar counteracts that.

@@blacknred6198 Hershey's Milk Chocolate alone tops out at 30% cacao solids, despite only needing to be 22% in the EU, to be considered Chocolate. Hershey's uses all natural ingredients, and Possesses as much sugar, and no fructose corn syrup, as Cadbury's and I suspect most of it's other competitors. The baby vomit is only apart of the thick taste of the milk chocolate (don't inhale it., which itself is the byproduct of components of milk that would've made butter being solely responsible for the acid. If you wish to use price to distinguish Hershey's from it's competitors, Where I live in Florida, Aldi's sells Hershey's for 37.5 cents per ounce, whereas a 1 pound and 1.6 ounce bar of Milk Chocolate costs 4.99, or approximately 28 cents per ounce from Trader Joe's. Choceur Chocolate imported from Austria also costs less at Aldi's, both Aldi's and Trader Joe's are owned by the Albrecht Brothers in Germany. Germany's Moser Roth was about the same in price per ounce of Chocolate, if not just a bit more expensive. (Also Hershey's is more expensive at Sam's than Aldi's per gram (43c, I tried.) Cadbury's uses vegetable oil. No offense, but millennials like above are part of the reason that so many companies are run off to foreign lands, and Hershey's may as well. Remember, Companies have duplicitous ways of trying to get ahead of the competition, even Chocolate Companies, and even if it is to slander. That's all for this German American.

Listen here non American plenty of foreign foods uses buteric acid like Hershey's does. Literally any fermented food has it that means tons of cheeses, among many others. You think it tastes like vomit because you aren't use to the acid in chocolate because you eat chocolate with olive oil and condensed milk not fermented

Their chocolate tastes the worst out of any brand because they use butyric acid instead of cocoa butter as a cost saving measure. Instead of diversifying to become a brand that's known to have their hands in everything and be bad at it all, just make a better chocolate bar that competes.

This is a misconception, the butyric acid comes from the vacuum boiling used to make the condensed milk for the chocolate. Because it is done in a vacuum environment, bacteria use anaerobic processes instead of aerobic ones, and a byproduct of that is the creation of butyric acid.

Coca Cola makes good products and innovates new products (e.g. new Diet Coke Mango/Lime/Orange/etc). Hershey's has been putting in fake chocolate flavoring garbage to replace real chocolate over the years. They screw over their product quality to save money, and their chocolate tastes terrible compared to real chocolate that you can get from their competitors.

It's probably questioning their inhumane business practice: “Hershey’s have failed to take action on this issue, despite clear knowledge of their support of the use of child and slave labor, and have also failed to inform consumers at point-of-sale that their purchases are supporting this supply chain linked directly to atrocious human rights violations.”

They actually don't, the ingredients are as follows Milk Chocolate. I'm not kidding, there are subcategories so let's go over that (Sugar, Milk, Chocolate, Cocoa Butter, Milk Fat, Lecithin, PGPR, Natural Flavor) Milk, this is where the acidic taste comes from, due to the use of vacuum pan boiling. Lecithin and PGPR, are both emulsifiers, Lecithin is actually found naturally in the human body. Sugar chocolate and cocoa butter are the basic ingredients of chocolate.

I love Hershies chocolates, even more than Cadbury which is the more popular brand in my country. It's so difficult to find Hershies here, a corner of the supermarket would stock them and it's expensive, that 100g bar can be $3 or more. I think if they marketed it well in other countries, people will buy! Because the chocolate is absolutely delicious 😋

Say Lol Here it’s the opposite lol. In the US, Hershey’s supposedly tastes extremely poor in quality compared to European chocolate brands due to all the preservatives and they changed their recipes. Our “Cadbury” branch here is owned by Hershey’s so they make “Cadbury” products that lack in quality as well compared to the real Cadbury. Though some of the products taste better than the others. Here you can find Hershey’s pretty cheaply and in bulk since they don’t have to ship it across the sea.

VINCEVAZ27 Properly isolated stevia has no aftertaste. I use it to make keto ice cream on a daily basis. Plus most people don't have an issue with sugar alcohols and it can be combined with erythritol to add sweetness. Generally I prefer stevia because for those with IBS like myself, sugar alcohols aren't an option. But for anyone worried about taste or unconfirmed health issues with stevia, erythritol works great.

Yes, Hershey will eventually get out of the chocolate business for one simple reason: it is universally ridiculed in the chocolate industry as the worst-tasting major chocolate brand in the world, followed only by some non-EU chocolate brands whose countries of manufacture have zero standards for what may legally be called "Chocolate." The familiar term used in the industry for Hershey's is "barnyard chocolate" because of its funky notes; these are caused by the unique cooking method Milton Hershey developed using a decidedly unscientific "Ready-Fire-Aim" experimentation method, similar to a child making mud pies. Milton Hershey had a palate that could be referred to as "unsophisticated" if one were being polite, and "downright culinarily challenged" if one were being accurate. The reason why Milton Hershey succeeded and became a millionaire is because chocolate, at the time, was a novel food to which the American public had had little or no real exposure until the time he introduced his five-cent chocolate bar that almost every American could afford. Because of this, Hershey's Chocolate could have been almost entirely devoid of quality and still made it big back in the beginning. And, as we've seen with many other early offerings, the public becomes enamored with them, nostalgic for them, and therefore wedded to them for life -- enough to sustain a decidedly poor product. For those interested in the chemistry of it all, milk chocolate is mainly distinguished by the manner and order in which ingredients are combined and heated, and these methods are often native to a specific country, such that Italian chocolate typically has certain tasting notes, whereas German chocolate shares only some of those same notes and adds distinctly different notes of its own, etc. Milton Hershey one day experimented with introducing a vacuum to his combination of milk and sugar while he heated them together. The absence of oxygen caused new compounds -- free fatty acids -- to be created, and these are what produced the sour, cheesy taste chocolate professionals refer to as "barnyard."

Chocolate -- pure chocolate i.e. the cacao bean -- is absolutely good for you! I eat dark to super dark (90-100%) chocolate every day and have been the healthiest my entire life. The problem is that this video is only referring "chocolate candy" and "confectionery". Hershey's seems to have missed and given up on the chocolate-as-health-food boat. The only exception are their Bark Thins, which is sweet dark chocolate and nuts. However even there it's too sweet for my tastes. There are so many competitors now in premium chocolate market that Hershey's isn't even remotely a part of.
