Everything this guy said is true, I was a firefighter for 20 years . If the house is a total loss and everyone is safe,we keep the fire from spreading to the surrounding area

i gotta say, im really liking these videos of just a bunch of people hanging out and being buddies while swapping stories. focusing on one person and a more serious history is really cool, but this sort of video feels nice.

I know in my town, on the reserve, fire department has houses listed as to not go in (meth houses I assume). They will make sure it doesn’t spread but they will let the house burn. I was actually on the reserve fire department, I mostly went to practice, went to some control burns. I don’t why I stopped going. It all set in that it was over when I saw my name scribble over on the locker I used.

Every year our insurance rep comes by to talk about safety and even he said we need to make sure to have a headcount in case of a fire so the department doesn’t risk their lives in an empty building. Sometimes it’s better to just let it burn; but if they believe someone is in there, you bet your ass they’re going. So they don’t just go in if no life is at risk and it’s particularly unsafe. They’re still true hero’s and thanks for your work bro

I have never heard of anyone storing their ammo in a fireproof safe. The only time I have ever heard of someone putting ammo into a safe is if they have a second safe if they replaced their old one. Which was once. Also 10 hr rated safes are not exactly cheap. They are several thound dollar investments something which I think a guy living in a trailer could not afford. With all of this being said I agree with Bart and the Fire Chief just letting it burn.
