Why 'Hannibal' is One of the BEST TV Series of ALL Time

Комедия

Welcome to my latest review. In today's video we will be taking a look at the TV series 'Hannibal'. Hannibal is without a doubt one of the best TV series of all time. It is a blend of psychological horror and crime drama featuring the cat and mouse games of Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelson). Hannibal is an utter triumph when it comes to the fantastic cinematography, editing and music.

    The reason the pacing is so good is because Bryan Fuller was fully aware that each season could be the last, so he crafted all of them with that in mind. He made the season finales able to be the *series* finale if need be. It was out of necessity but I realized that it’s actually such a clever way to make a tv show?? Because it has a set destination, all the pieces you leave to get there are important and nothing is out of place or messy. Other shows could stand to follow in Hannibal’s footsteps tbh

    tbh, that could also really F up the pacing, as evidenced by Legend of Korra. That show has a bit of a start and stop motion because the show writers and runners thought they were getting canceled every season. I don't think Korra is bad or anything, but I think it would have been much better if storylines would have been allowed to breathe over several seasons.

    I don't share the same enthusiasm....the show takes liberties that don't bother me but dosen't do , most of the cases anything...if you gonna swipe off the genders of characters may as well let them suffer the consequences of their actions...the reporter lady in the original movie is a sleazy scumbag...so he gets in an arc of redemption by confronting his actions to the killer....guess what... the women version dosen't spies on her faults and nothing happens ; only help characters for her own porspuses and okey doeky ! Can't say the same for the director who is also sleazy in a different level but he received a harrowing fate rather than the women.... Also lots of scenes with the psychiatrist are dull as fuck...smart writting...but the deliver fell so numb and narcissistic... And lots of Areas of season 3 are very rush ( also i can understand why due to the red light) but i have to have on account ... Will is not exactly a very interesting protagonist in my opinion, but Hannibal's actor is very good....my only gripe was he dosent fit the pattern of a sociopath, sadistic egotistical maniac....hannibal love is something more platonic , obsesive compulsive, who confronts morals and proclivities of other people in a very vicious manner...obviously a result of sexual repression....but here is a Don John... To me it miss the mark in so many things that i can barley give it a 7/10

    Honestly I think (wait let me *explain*) that Made does the best Hannibal. BUT Hopkins was portraying post-capture Hannibal, and they have a very short amount of time to imprint a certain message on the audience: this guys in a basement of a mental asylum behind a solid plastic wall...and you should still be terrified of him. ....however I'd like to invite you to imagine Hopkins' Hannibal as your fucking therapist. Yeah, you'd need to see a second therapist to deal with the trauma of him being your therapist. But Mads? Theres one scene, with the guy who wants to be his bff, go watch it, where you CAN imagine everything he says in that scene from the patients POV and see how much he genuinely cares about his well being. And at the exact same time you can see he's never struggled so hard in his entire life to not eat someone's face. That is fucking incredible.

    I love Mikkelsens tiny little face twitches when he glances for only a second at the dirty tissue Franklyn has dared to put on his end table. You can just tell he really really wants to gnaw Franklyn's fingers off at the audacity of dirtying up his shiny glass and chrome table but is really holding back. He manages to show that rage by only the tiniest of mouth twitches, so good!

  • @ivansanger7985

    @ivansanger7985

    3 жыл бұрын

    The reason it feels romantic to you is because Bryan Fuller wanted it that way. He told Siouxsie Sioux (the Person who made the beautiful Soundtrack "Love Crime" from 3x13) this context for the ending Song: "This is a love story. A love story between a full-fledged psychopath and someone who has a nascent psychopathic abilities... It's a love relationship between two man: one of them is a cannibal and one of them understands those cannibalistic instincts all too well" He didn't intend on this love story but said "It naturally evolved because I guess I was absorbing so much of Mads and Hugh's performance, which felt like it was growing in intimacy, and it would have been inauthentic to not address it" But HELL YEAH I really really want a season 4 even though the cliff(hehe)hanger was so perfect! All I can do is hope someday he will have enough money or maybe Netflix covers them!

Always appreciate a Hannibal fan. It's funny you'd comment today, when I started rewatching it the day before yesterday. Just got up to the point where Eddie Izzard joins the show. Now I think S1 was a bit more formulaic than S2 and 3, but damn it's so good. A lot of 'detective' shows can become much of a muchness, where Hannibal explores the human psyche, with vivid and finely tuned direction, deep and complex characters performed to a t. It nails each aspect, where many shows would only shine in one or two of its components. Sorry, completely rambling at this point. Glad you enjoyed.

    I was very very sceptical about this series and decided to pass on it, because I love the books, and Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Lecter is one of the best casting choices I can think of. However, I hate the way they switched the ending of the move Hannibal to something very different - I guess the original ending was to scandalous. However, I always enjoyed glimpses into the past of Hannibal, and if you recommend this, I might give it a try. It does seem, however, that they mixed the "future" into the past - Verger feeding his face to pigs (Hannibal) instead to dogs, Lecter being found on the museum of torture devices and watching the crowd (Hannibal) and so on and so forth. Also the fact that Graham entertains a relationship with Hannibal, when Hannibal originally almost killed him the moment he found out it was Hannibal who murdered all the victims, and Hannibal gets caught immediately after.

    You should give it a try! The reason why they emerged so many plot points it's because they have the rights of only three books of the saga: Red Dragon, Hannibal and Hannibal Rising; so without Silence of the Lambs and even without Clarice Starling, they had to go around that and find a clever way to adapt and tell the story, which in my opinion they did succed.

    I don't share the same enthusiasm....the show takes liberties that don't bother me but dosen't do , most of the cases anything...if you gonna swipe off the gender of characters may as well let them suffer the same consequences of their actions...the reporter lady in the original movie is a sleazy scumbag...so he gets in an arc of redemption by confronting his actions to the killer....guess what... the women version dosen't spies on her faults and nothing happens ; only help characters for her own porspuses and okey doeky ! To me it miss the mark in so many things that i can barley give it a 7/10

    script your videos before you film them. also instead of explaining and complimenting a series, analyse why you are complimenting them. i don't care if alana is an "interesting" character - i want to know why
