I don't think he pretended to be refined. He is refined ,but retains his animal nature. We clearly see his refinement all the time. His clothing, cooking, how he speaks etc. One does not pretend to be refined by learning how to cook very well made meals. That is refined. Clothes do not make the man. Man makes the clothes. How he speaks is more refined than others. It's a synthesis of the beast within the man. A type of symbiosis.

"He should have hopped faster" "yes he should have" *jump cut to a man being murdered* I SWEAR this was my favourite moment in the show. It was so jarring.

Chilton was the only other character to pick up on the cannibal jokes. In Season 2 after both Will and Gideon say Hannibal is the Chesapeake Ripper Chilton realises the truth and when he's trying to convince Jack he says "Hannibal once served me tongue and then made a joke about eating mine. It would be narrow to not at least consider it."

Oh it absolutely means to be funny, but I think it's meant to be hidden well among the bleak atmosphere and dark aesthetic

Mads style, his tiny smile, those beady eyes, bad puns nobody is picking on, his accent and a little lisp, I just adore this man!

Mads Mikkelnsen had an absolute time of his life performing Hannibal, you can tell he really enjoy it by the outstanding acting feeling natural

Hannibal, at first glance, is a psychological thriller about this poor guy being manipulated by a genius psychopath, with beautiful cinematography and religious symbolism. But this thing is also a rom-com and the two genres go so well together

The neurologist's fate was sealed when he implied Will was Hannibal's pig.

Mads acting is superb, they legit got the perfect man besides Hopkins to play Lecter. He's perfect for the role.

I think the reason why Hannibal is so fascinated with will is because he is the only one who gets his jokes and sees through his bullshit.

In one of my class (about what is god and religion (the concept that’s philo)), we saw that some cannibals actually do it to « save nature ». They do it because they don’t want to eat plants and animals because these are part of nature and as part of nature they must be preserved. They are too pure to be eaten. I'm on season 2 before I go to season 3 please tell me it had a proper ending?

@@ray-hv9qt ut ends on a cliff hanger, (spoiler) hannibal and will get injured after killing the antagonist of season 3 and they hug and jump off a cliff into the sea or river and the writer said they survived but there is no season 4 so it is considered a cliff hanger

@@guccigirl2389 There's been a petition gor season 4 and even the shows creator plus other staff voted on it, basically its not just fans who want the show back but it's creators. The issue I believe is either funding or getting a studio to pick it up.

There's something about Mads Mikkelsen's voice. I think he could convince me to let him kill me. But he doesn't do it in everything he's in (Doctor Strange, for example).

just what i need!!! i'm quite late to the Hannibal wagon but it has been so satisfying watching the wordplay in this series, brilliantly written by a psych major turned film-maker, and that PERFORMANCE of our leads. gosh i love it, tysm for making this

I’m always amazed at what a superb actor Mikklesson is. It’s downright frightening.

I love the cinematography in this series, like every frame is a moving painting.

I didn’t realize how often Hannibal does that smarmy ass smile after he makes a cannibal pun until it was spliced together like this 😭 Also, the edit after 5:04 had me absolutely pissing. I’m still laughing just thinking about it

I love how Hannibal so casually cooks and eats humans in front of his guests

Just got into Hannibal now and I must say it's the best show I've ever watched. Definitely fits my taste too well it's scary.

As an indian vegetarian, I find it so funny that no one in the show can actually tell what meat it is that they're eating. Will even fools Hannibal by feeding him randall after telling him it's freddie, and hannibal is like ah, so decadently bitter mwah! Also shout out to hannibal for making something like dahi puri for his indian dish!

Ive yet to see another show with such incredible acting and a complex story. Truly excellent show

I love his little proud smile after every joke that will get over everyone’s head like he knows it’s hilarious but what makes it even funnier is the fact that no one gets it (excluding Will ofc-)
