Brilliantly articulated! I've been striving to enlighten our local government on this matter for ages. Now, let's add subtitles in multiple languages, empowering people worldwide to share this eye-opening video with their politicians!

Amazing video. For someone trying to argue this with New Zealand Government for some time, I think from my personal experience is the difference between a poker player and a poker gambler. There is a distinct threshold to be met before a casual gambler turns into a poker player. The difference is between someone playing the game as a casual gamble, and someone studying, learning from mistakes and self improvement in the game. We've all seen people become better than 10 year+ casual gamblers in the space of 6 months due to learning from mistakes and self improvement. I entirely agree that if you have 9 well-versed players that understand the game at a poker table then the game is essentially a competitive sport and shouldn't qualify as Gambling. But the moment you get one casual gambler inside of that game who doesn't care about the money or the maths or other factors related to the game, the necessary requirements to call it a game of skill over luck are removed because even though long term ev will decide winners and losers, you will still have someone thinking of the game like a game of roulette which we all know is not the case. And that is a big sticking point to overcome with a Government. Not sure if my comments even made sense but it definitely does in my head 😂😂 Nevertheless, love that I found your videos just trying to find a poker room review on a room I visited. Definitely earnt a subscriber. Keep up the work.

Thanks James for these serious thoughts. Yes gambling can be a verb - a great point you make. Just because a game is largely determined by skill, does not mean players have to treat it that way. Part of this is just where poker is located. Lots of people start at a Baccarat table and find themselves over at poker, and bingo the same way. Good luck with the Kiwi Government!
