I really wish this movie didn’t lean so heavily on comedy as it did. Comedy makes complete sense since its for kids but it some times gets in the way of the moment. But i will say that when the monsters got their moment it was great. Like that whole gnome sequence is my favorite for how devious it was.

"The place is quiet because there's a great big monster inside and it's right around the corner from me. What should I do? Oh, I know. I'll open this giant bottle of soda, the monster won't hear it hiss in this totally silent market."

😂 I wrote the same comment 😂 there is a term to describe how stupid that was , it's called " horror movie level stupidity" 😂 it's the same mentality that makes a woman not call the police but decide to check out alone and unarmed a noise that she heard in her house in the middle of the night. I want to blame it on the plot but I have seen it happen in real life also 😂

Will never get bored of Goosebumps, still got all the books & VHS tapes (no tape player though REEE 😭). Wish this movie wasn't so damn disappointing though. Please directors make a dark & gritty R rated Goosebumps movie with practical effects on the same level as The Thing etc. Make a Goosebumps movie that will never be forgotten, one that is still loved & still sells big bucks decades later 🙏

I am glad I learned that term a couple weeks ago " horror level stupidity" 😂 because I cannot for the life of me understand why someone would pick the moment when they see a predator wolfing down meat JUST METERS AWAY FROM HIM TO OPEN A BOTTLE THAT WOULD GIVE AWAY THEIR POSITION 😂 heck even if he had managed to open it without problem, the werewolf could have heard him drinking it or smelled him eating 😂 smh " horror movie level stupidity" is a good term to describe that kind of mentality.

If you're talkin' about the Nickelodeon version, that series was very original, from the cinematography to the overall storylines! I gotta say, Mr. Stine & his team sure kept my teenage to early adult years HIGHLY interesting... The 90s version of "The Outer Limits." Stephen King's 'original' "The Stand" movie or series, that shit was damn near 20 yrs ago if not precisely. I even remember the "Tales From The Darkside" & "Tales From The Crypt." I think every actor & actress that had some 'juice' back then wanted to be on "Tales From The Crypt." It is baffling how many stars I seen appearing on the show...

"Are You Afraid Of The Dark" is a lot more creep scary. I never will understood how they got away with showing that stuff on a kids channel late at night... Goosebumps was generally aired early morning to afternoon on the weekends. I feel like the series only had a hand full of truly scary episodes.

I don't know whether this film was supposed to be for adults or kids. If it was supposed to be for adults then I don't like it when a scene becomes thrilling when somebody is unreasonably clumsy or stupid . That is a weakness of the scenario. It has to also make sense while it thrills you. Like look how the girl lost the notebook this was so childish of the story.
