    That was a great video for newbies. Doing a great job with these info vids. I've of course been there multiple times from Edmonton Alberta Canada. About 6 season all for camp rzr which you should of mentioned. It's likely the best way to break in a new duner. I've only missed 1 season due to covid. Can't wait to return to this place of fun. I've been to all the hot spots you mentioned as well. See you out there!!

    Now can you do a video on UTV races classes with a basic breakdown of vehicle requirements? I'm one of the east coasters, and I have done a few GNCC races and I really want to take a vacation and hit a desert race, but I got no clue about the classes. Widths, geometry, engine mods vs stock etc etc. I can't seem to find a video covering any of that anywhere

  • @ChupacabraOffroad

    That's a great idea, but also really complex. Out west BITD (Best in the Desert) is the premiere series, with the most entries, and there have been some notable rule changes just this year. If you are making the trek, I'd pick a race that's best to watch and spectate, which would be the Mint 400 or the UTV World Champs (see our videos on UTVWC), or a race in Laughlin. The rules from WORCS to BITD or Score do vary, sometimes quite a bit, which is almost impossible to document accurately.

  • @thegooniverse495

    @thegooniverse495

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@ChupacabraOffroad I have been eye balling the mint 400 my self. All of them look so big compared to what we have out east. Our gncc races are like a side show to the dirtbike races (which is where I come from). Give the idea some thought! Even if it's vague like "this class is full custom machines, this class is modded stockers, this is for true stock machines" etc. Just a good starting point for those of us interested so we can know what series and rule books to read up on for specifics. I'll be doing research over the next week and will have all the info I need, but I think that could make great content for those of us that are curious.

    Loved going to Glamis, but I haven't been in about 10 years. Just got into a place where I can get in the dunes again. Has there been an uptick in bad drivers? I notice around my area, a lot more people are trying to offroad and it's become a cesspool for bad drivers and UTV accidents. Is this also the case for Glamis, or is it still relatively the same as a decade ago?

  • @ChupacabraOffroad

    @ChupacabraOffroad

    15 күн бұрын

    Many would say that, IDK if it's true. The SxS now allows a lot more people to get out and dune, compared to the older ATV/ buggy days. With more people comes more drivers good and bad. Glamis will bite if you get out into the dunes and run out of talent, but with 4wd and good HP it's also a great way to learn the sport. Covid also got a lot of new people into outdoor activities. Most of what you see on social is accidents, but I've been on lots of trips and not seen any drama.

    Still didn’t hear why Glamis is the spot. I do think it’s the clout and will die off as it’s done before. I personally get bored of the dunes, not much to challenge a rider or driver. So many people just go to show off their money or dept. others go because it’s the party place to go. That’s why so many people just sit around and watch others.

    It's awesome but my family stopped going for a few reasons all mostly regarding too many people and too many shitheads. Most duners are great hard working people who will help you in your most difficult time of need. That said, there are those who don't follow the good nature of duners and while all dune locations have these people, Glamis has more of them. We've had people ride through our camp which we had blocked off by doing a circle formation. We've had tools, tire/wheels, and ice chests stolen. Had a trailer right next to our camp catch fire because they were playing with gas and fire. Another year we had gunshots. Glamis is badass and everyone should go, but it's definitely not my groups cup of tea anymore.

    Glamis is worth seeing at least one time . But it’s mostly a major hassle . Fees , lots of law enforcement, lots of thrashers/scum bags, very crowded. When it’s not crowded much more enjoyable. Also you better have your whip/flag (with light 💡) otherwise your gonna get a ticket .

I watched a video yesterday of a head on collisions between two side by sides and there were Mich Ultra cans spread everywhere and the folks at the scene were drinking. I like the mountain states (I'm in Montana) where its possible to ride all day and not see another person or vehicle.
