Though loving the Fuji (especially with adapted lenses) the B&W images SOOC are better on my Nikon. Well, for now anyways. The 60mm D 2.8 adapted to a Fuji makes a great web cam btw 😎

Nikon glass works quite nicely adapted to a Fujifilm body. Ha!

I still use a D200. Thinking about upgrading to a D500. If I can get one with a low shutter count for a good price.

What about elephant In the room, Canon r6/5. Any thoughts abut that system, s lenses etc? Or I'll stick to my d850 for few more years

I use the d500 mainly for wildlife underwater photography and out of the water with 200-500 mm but can't do video because not good video autofocus. So I got an xt4, but still haven't made the switch waiting for a firmware update that can improve the video autofocus because it sucks too (at least with the 16-80 mm and 80 mm). I have a feeling that will not happen. I think Im getting the Z7 ll if the video autofocus is good and i'll have more megapixel for cropping and printing large. Can't wait for u to review the Z6 ll. If u could rent the Z7 ll that'll be great :)

Ken, I really enjoy watching your videos and hearing your opinions on all things to do with photography. As much as I would love to own a Fujifilm GFX100 I will never ever be in a position to be able to afford one and more importantly never need one for the type of photographer I am. IMO it's horses for courses. You buy what you can afford and what suits your photography needs. As you know you can have the "best" gear available and still be a bloody awful photographer. I'm in a camera club and it amazes me how many people turn up on day 1 having virtually no photography experience with a brand new 5D Mark IV or a D850 and 3 or 4 pro lenses and think they are going to take amazing photos.

Not anytime soon. I'm still enjoying my X-H1 though. I'm a photographer, not a videographer so I don't care about its video capabilities although I know they exist. From a photography standpoint, it's a solid camera and gets the job done. I think if we actually see an X-H2 we'll see an X-E4 as well. Wishful thinking on all accounts.

Imo i think the Fuji x series, nikon FF series and Fuji gfx series all scale really well with price and performance. It seems quite linear and straight? If you can afford any system to buy in you will get great results. Pretty elementary though lol

Could you recommend a vintage prime manual lens for my Fuji xt20 that I could actually find. 23mm to 35mm is the goal. Thanks. I own the 55-200 and 16mm 1.4. You were spot on.

Get anything Minolta X-ROKKOR. Especially the 28mm f2.8 and the 45mm f2. Don't buy the Celtic version, get the X-ROKKOR. You can thank me later.

Nice one! I am in the market just now for a camera. It was Nikon or Fuji. Saved about 4000 Euros for my set up but these two camps were pulling me apart.

Hey Ken, it sounds like you've been spoiled by Fujifilm medium format and there is no going back. I get that the output with medium format is superior to full frame, however a lot of folks including me can't afford putting together a Fujifilm GFX system with a nice set of lenses. Nikon missed a huge opportunity to allow the Z series to use their screw drive lenses and keep people in their ecosystem, but if you have to buy new lenses anyway why not just switch to Fuji? I love the D7100/7200’s. D500 & D850 are great cameras and photographers would totally buy a Z series if they could use all of their glass with it. That being said, most of the newer cameras coming out of Nikon are not as good as their older versions like the D7500. Which is tough for those with a big Nikon glass arsenal to have to decide whether they are gonna stay in the Nikon world or change to a different system altogether, or keep buying used versions of older cameras which isn’t a long term solution.

Single card slots (MK1 Z6 and Z7) and screwdrive incompatibility are two massive mistakes made by Nikon. The fact that the Z5 has dual slots is effectively an admission of this mistake by Nikon, so they are now offering it on all Z cameras except the Z50

Fuji has been listening to their users and even upgrading previous models with new firmware that increases functionality. Most brands force you into a new camera. For me Panasonic and Fuji!

I personally love and own the xt-3 and xt-4 but for night time motorsports I have issues with autofocus in low light. Also I hate the locations on both cameras for the autofocus button. That being said I love my fuji equipment and when traveling and everyday photo taking the Nikons stay in the pelican cases. Like you I love both.

I know it’s a year late, but I agree with you about the placement of the AF back button locations, I hit the Q button too often too count. Also the shutter release being straight up on the top bugs me. Hoping the xh2 fixes those issues.

Why Fujifilm? Because it goes great with my man-bun and plaid jacket.

Don't blame the kids man. The kids are alright. But they had nothing, came from nothing. No film stars no music stars no photography stars no book writers.. All they had was Hollywood.

You can buy GFX 50R used pretty much same price as Z6ii new. The value/price is a no brainer for me. Fuji is a genius skipping they ff game.

Right now I have a Nikon Reflex, what if I build up a good Nikon lens kit and then adapt the hell out of it with a Fuji? These days I'm very confused

Just rent and review the Z6 mk II and use the cash you save for your Norway trip!

I looked at your movie about the Fuji 100-400 and your OIS recommendation really helped me to get way more keepers. Thanks for that! Now I struggle with my XT2 to get sharp shots of our new dog. I never had issues with the AF system of the XT2 but with a fast young dog with a black head, I hardly get it right. Even with my 50-140. Would the XT3 (FW4) or XT4 do this better or easier to get tack sharp shots? In fact, I was considering to add a D850 for wildlife because it price dropped so much now also because the XT4 isn't cheap also.... Would that idea makes sense?

@@Tilburger72 Others can give better answer maybe - more experienced for sure. Analyse it good. For me FX is always better - the image is different, like the medium format compared to FX. Even wildlife - I shoot for now with D700, 12mp, and 300mm (manual focus - the fast birds are bitches :D )- and I try not to crop often and then it is good. Also I think that the normal lenses are better on FX, it is easier to find good 35mm than 23, the focal lengths are more usable - 58mm is 58, on dx it is not so usable; normal portrait lens 135mm is 135, on dx it is already for wildlife ... F2 is enough for almost everything, with dx the people want F1.4, F1.2, F 0.95 - more efforts. You have also everything already engineered for FX since time of film - for Fujifilm you must buy it often brand new and expensive - f.i. 16mm f1.4 is not cheap. You can buy Zeiss Distagon 35mm f2 for 500 Euro and it is better than Fujifilm 23mm f2/ f1.4, but the price is almost the same. Try in a store the nikon - compared to the fujifilm it is not so user friendly, bulkier to walk around with, like every tool - sometimes it is more important to be perfectly comfortabe for you than technical perfect, the fast lenses mentioned above which are image wise Wow, are expensive and big and heavy, maybe only they are better than fujifilm ones... whatever serves best to your! needs. And also - I am still kind a new - but focusing wise - better to take less pictures, but worthy for your wall in the living room. And I am sure that the fastest focus on earth has no 100% hit rate. And the lenses are most important. After the light - but the light can be done with $20 for old ugly speedlight. The camera is worth thinking, but the most important is the lens. The lens is producing the most of the image. Maybe the best is - as well - everything at the end, calculated, is Expensive, buy what you really want at most :) PS the last weeks I try to make wildlife photos from ambush with the manual Zeiss, flashes, sound isolation because of the shutter, and a remote control. I have success - so difficult and interesting - how to calculate where the bird will land, ca. 15cm from the lens, and then snatch it in focus, without the camera or anything to be moved.

I don't know.. The Sony A7III performs slightly better in some comparison tests on KZread with the XT4...

It costs more though, right? Also I think the build quality of the X-T4 is far superior. If you want better Eye-Autofocus, go for Sony, but otherwise, save money and grab a Fuji :D

I understand your logic. If you own a GFX100, 50 & xt4 you don't need something else. With these tools you can do anything. There is no point to buy a full frame camera from another company. And it's not about what is the best brand, its about what works best for you.

Seriously? If I am getting into weddings, I'm going Nikon, Canon or Sony. Sports...you know the answer. It's Canon first, Nikon and then Sony. Landscapes....yes, the medium format Fujis are fantastic (but out of price range for most people). I'll take the Nikon D850 or the Canon R5. For the working PROFESSIONAL, you can't convince me that any Fuji is better than the Big Boys. Okay...I said, the GFX is GREAT! But both are super expensive and you aren't going to convince me to use it for most photographic jobs. Let's continue the list. Spend 4 or 10 grand for a street photography camera?? No. Sports? No. Weddings? No. Commercial...yes. But there, I've effectively encapsulated ALL your hours and hours of videos in a quick comment. LOVE you....LOVE most of your videos. Let's move on.

I have a D3x (Ken hates it - and I LOVE it.) Planning to add a Z6 Mk.1 when the average used price goes significantly under £1000 UK. I like to defy 'The Photo Gear Establishment' LOL. Would I get a GFX50? Yeah absolutely....if I was rich.

I bought my first real camera from my brother's recommendation, which was based off of yours: Fujifilm X-T30 I recently bought my first native prime, the 7artisans 35mm f\1.2 Mk I. I'd love to hear your thoughts about it.

Canon was #1 for a while then I assume they got lazy and comfortable at the top, then Nikon became #1 and they will get or are getting lazy and they will slip. Everyone is always gunning for the #1 spot.

sir! you're so ahead of your time. a friend introduced me to fuji mirroless back in 2017-18 and also your channel. would love to see a review of the newer and older cameras and which ones you would choose. or whether or not the XT1 or XT2 can keep up with the 3,4 & 5

I think I mentioned this before I'm not sure if you saw it I'm a big Fuji fan but I had a problem where my ISO buttons broken all my cameras they don't twist anymore and I'm not going to force it. X pro 2 and xt10 could it be an environmental Factor the only thing I can think of I live in New York City

Like you I am a (very) long time Nikon user. And a relatively recent Fuji convert since I bought my first Fuji, the x100. I have sold most of my Nikon stuff except my D4, 500 f/4 and 80-400 lenses which I use for wildlife. For everything else, I use Fuji. I have recently been thinking of experimenting with a Fringer adapter and trying some Canon telephoto primes as I find I need more reach than the 100-400. However I now see that Fringer are about to release an adapter for Nikon lenses (www.fringeradapter.com/blog/fringer-nf-fx-prototype-af-tracking-test-nikon-afs200-500-on-fujifilm-x-t3). What are your thoughts on using a Fringer with either Canon or Nikon glass on a Fuji body? Perhaps it can be the topic of an episode? Perhaps an early review?

Ken any update on the xH2? Specs and possible announcement?

I have a fujifilm x100v and when I attach it to a steady cam the screen on my fuji goes black and all I get is the usb written on the screen. I can’t find the option for usb tethering either. can anyone assist, or point me in the right direction, i’d be very great full

I've bought an ex-demo Fuji 100-400mm lens for reasonable price, which I used on Fuji XT3 earlier and now on Fuji XT4 and get great pictures of the Moon handheld. Also bought a Fuji 2x teleconverter and it gives me a more zoomed in image.

Sorry Fuji has slowest AF, tracking eye AF for both bodies and lens. Their lens are outdated and in desperate need of a refresh. Their lens use old motors. Additionally, their bodies are too small like Sony

The reason why I chose Fujifilm - you!

I'm a fuji shooter myself (xt3) and absolutely love it, but for an intelligent man you make some stupid statements.... of course the gfx 50r and 100 blows everything out of the water! The 50R costs $4.5k (on offer for 3.5k at the moment) and the gfx100 is $10k!!! The xt4 is $1.7k and the Z6 II is $2k - for most people, what makes more sense? The gfx's are not a viable option for MOST people. So its between the Z6II and xt4 for most and the price difference there is 3ch more palatable for most people.... surely the z6II is offering a decent compromise for the money with a full frame sensor for only $300 more than the fuji.... I mean, for me I would still opt for fuji as it suits my needs but I can see that the price of the crop sensor xt4 may seem quite expensive to many, by comparison to that of the full frame z6II.

You promised to buy the Z6ii, so stop trying to get excuses

Unless you’re a professional and have an external monitor with recording capability. (Ninja) Then it will record 10bit.

I'm sorry, but my partner's Samsung S10 takes far better macro photos and general photos than my XT2 and XH1 in terms of colour representation and image quality. To be sure mirrorless SLR style cameras with zoom lenses are far easier to use in terms of framing and snapping difficult moving subjects, but the high quality of results from most smart phones with cheap optics are an embarrassment to all camera manufacturers.

Funny he hasn't talked about the Leica Q2 Monochrom latley! Butt-hurt Fanboyism getting in the way probably! Lol
