Sports like football require physical prowess , huge stamina which Indian genes don’t have . Football isn’t suited to Indians . If India wants to win it needs to import African players . Only then we might get some success . South Asians are shorter , have less stamina . We tend to excel in sports which require less physicality. It’s a fact . No matter how much money you put , we won’t get success . Even China couldn’t with the money they had put . It’s all about genes which we don’t have . They were maintaining the midfield and defence line very well. Even for the 1 second you cannot get distracted in Football which makes it the hardest sport in the world

Don't get me wrong, I'm patriotic about Indias Football too but once you get used to watching English Premier League or La Liga, you can easily notice the level difference of those leagues as compared to ISL in India. I watched both cricket and football before but after 2018 I stopped watching cricket as i realized that its the most boring , gambling minded , advertisement priority, involves dirty politics , weather focused , and time wasting non physical game. No hate to cricket but its not a fun and entertaining game to watch as it involve zero physicality between opponent players, takes a long time and per 6 ball advertisement in TVs which is disgusting. Football is a spectator friendly- player physicality oriented sports where you have to watch advertisement only on half time and u cannot miss any secs in the game as goal can occur at any time. Indians having backward minds are stuck with cricket as they prefer individuality over team cooperation . Football is a fully pure team cooperation game . A person playing football has more health benifits than cricket . We have to change our narrative on sports as whole as we are too much focused on a single useless boring non global colonial sport for too long. Its time we must invest and create a footballing culture in India too as most of the developed countries gives importance to football. We have so much population but neither we are good in olympics or football . Its a disgrace. Limit the watch of cricket and increase the watch of other games specially football.

It's like Indian Team vs Brazil team (just for context I am telling). So when Sunil Chhetri in this interview clip said in the beginning about the level of better team, it immediately clicked in my mind from my childhood memories. Very well said Sunil bhai. People like you, Biachung etc be given command by Sports Authority of India as a complete independent body to find and groom young talent right from their childhood. I had played enough football in my childhood (perhaps more than Cricket), and I am 100% confident that Indian youngsters are as much talented as foreigners but without aupport and nurturing them, they just disappear before even growing to next level.

In my opinion, majority people of India just don't like football because they feel there's not much entertainment. And for this same reason they don't play football also. Just like Sunil sir said, in professional football game player like Messi gets playtime with ball of just 2 mins, and this is the major reason common people don't like this game. There's simply just not much dopamine factor which is in cricket.

It’s the mixture of many different things which sets apart Indian and world class football players. If you say facilities then how come Africa is producing world class players consistently? The main reason is very small talent pool of footballers who want to have a career in football. The day football is played by young Indian guys as a serious career option we will have a great chance of having decent team to qualify for World Cup. Also infrastructure can be improved and better coaching and footballing culture need to built as well. We should have more Japanese players and coaches sooner.

Western countries start learning everything from very early in their childhood. Be it racing, running, dancing, academics, everything man.. Their support system for a kid is humongous. They don't have to enroll in regular schools. They just go to their own sports academy which have schools inside. For football career, you get in the centre early train and get basic high education system along with it. India don't have that luxury. A kid will always have to enroll to mainstream school first and then what they get in terms of sports is only games period twice a week. We also have language barrier. First you communicate in mother tongue, then comes local language, then hindi and then english. It tough enough to learn and communicate. Cricket works because it is easily accessible and kids can stay in touch with the game. Say one or two bat and ball for one muhalla and everyone can play. Other sports require a lot of factors.
