Garrett, you're the most humble and genuinely 'real' magician I've ever discovered. Penn and Teller definitely recognized that. People will try to figure out the answer, but your raw skill makes up for anyones comments! You earned my sub :)

I loved your analyse about the existence of Fool Us. Yes it's surely a huge platform for the magic world and their entertainers, but it's also a massive, huge magic moment displayed so kindly for laymen and magic lovers. Thanks to be part of the art of magic. You fooled me that's for sure. Hope you'll be back for the best ever magic show.

I never thought of it that way, but you're right-- Penn and Teller are using their unequaled status in the magic community to give a platform for other magicians to grab just a little bit of the spotlight. In doing so, it's really pushing the envelope with magic! How many unique Fool Us acts have inspired other magicians to craft different tricks? How many people have been inspired to get into magic because of the show? (me) They've essentially created an engine that just makes the magic world thrive that much more. And if I'm being honest, they always look like they absolutely enjoy the heck out of it 💞

I'm really a fan of yours, I think your magic is one of a kind because you dive so deep into it. The fact that you prefer close up magic in real life (maybe I'm wrong but seems like you prefer) is a thing that I truly agree with because the experience is way different, the closer you come to the people and get personal with them, the stronger and unbelievable the magic will be. Magic isn't only about fooling people, it's about getting them amazed and sharing a moment or an emotion and you fool them in order to create this emotion. I'm really hyped for your show on fool us Wish you the best from France Aymeric

Hey Garrett just saw you for the first time via your P&T performance and I just had to come say hi and wow what moves. I only know a few basic card sleights and some controls but they're enough to do a few nice tricks and I do love using them to make peeps smile and wonder at them. If I have no other way of making a new friend, I'll always have a one-on-one card trick to make a new bond. Closeup magic is the best. There are some masters out there, and imho you're among them. I'll be watching more vids of you. Bless you for being one of us who draws pleasure from the smiles of others.

My hats off to you sir. That was a great performance, having done something very similar years ago with key rings and a homemade prop (I was performing "mini" linking rings) I did almost the exact same thing you accomplished with Teller. I have to say though your performance and sleights were way WAY better than mine Looked like some killer coin techniques influenced some of it. Simply brilliant! You have really inspired me to start creating and performing again! OH quick edit where did you get that ring man, and how can I get one of them bad boys?!

Comment about this being a lie because of a gimmicked ring is hereby retracted, due to updated info on how it was done. In magic terminology, there is a vast difference between something being gimmicked with tricky openings and such and using a gimmick (an object without such fanciness). Night and day. He looks stunned because Penn didn't guess correctly and he figured he would. Garrett was asked to make that call on camera, and he did his best to make the right call based on what Penn guessed. The only thing you are seeing on camera is a solid metal ring and a side that's facing you. This effect involves half of what you think is involved and a whole lotta sleight of hand. He deserved the trophy 🏆

@Rhayne Lyte I wasn’t pushing the issue, Mike Close is the judge behind the judges, and Penn said that the ring that Teller was holding Was so cleverly made that it passed inspection. But the ring that Teller held was 100% normal. Of course remember that there were 20 minutes of me up on stage performing they edit it down to about six minutes, there was a lot more said and things discussed other phases, Teller comedically examining both my hands the ring and my body, all were removed in editing to make the show better. So basically you’re seeing a highlight reel of what occurred in the competition.

"The ring" is an ordinary, solid ring, but you're not using the ring for the "impossible" tricks. You're using gimmicks: things that are made to look like "the ring", but in fact are not. The trick is therefore that you're using sleight of hand to swap "the ring" for the gimmicks, without them catching you swapping them. If my guess is correct, you did fool them (according to their rules). They might have know that you used sleight of hand to swap "the ring" for the gimmicks, but they could not tell you how you did it, because they never saw it. Based on their observations, the most plausible explanation was that "the ring" itself was an extraordinary ring. Very impressive!

So the idea of a ring being removed from a finger that is being held at the tip without being separated is impossible, only if the ring can open up somehow. There is a video of the Teller part and there is a gap in the ring. The producers won't come out right then and there to refute the call. They wouldn't want to do that to him, even if he is a liar.

Garrett is a great human being, I wish people would stop with calling him a liar, you were not there during the taping of the show, he was asked if the ring was gimmick ed... and the answer is NO! That is like asking Shin Lim, Did you use a gimmick? Yes, then you didn't fool us. Unfair to be saying anything more about it. He got a trophy and the judges allowed it, enough said.
