Why External Counterpulsation (ECP or EECP) benefits patients with Chest Pain and Coronary Calcium

In this video I discuss how Enhanced External Counterpulsation (EECP) can create collateral blood flow in the coronary arteries helping patient's angina (chest pain) symptoms.

IT WORKS. My father 76 years old has all his arteries 100% clogged except one tiny one that was artificially placed 10 years ago during open heart surgery. It is 90% clogged too. He lives off of 10% only. He was too weak to make it out of surgery so ECP is his only option. He could barely walk to the next room or talk without being out of breath. His doc did the ECP treatment that squeezes the legs and opens little paths for bloodflow. Wow. Dad felt 50% better. I think the doc said he can only have it every 3 years. Well, Dad is back to feeling bad again so he just started the treatment again. Hoping and praying for similar results. 🙏

Hi how is your dad doing? My mum has 90% blockage and she has blockages in multiple places some of them are 30-40% blockage and she has high sugar and weak now the doctor said she has high risk if bypass is done. One doctor advised to take ECP for 2 weeks and stabilise health and do bypass. Can you please share your opinion?

@@FundedFuturesTrader Vitamin K2 is a fat soluble vitamin that has been described as being preventive for heart disease as it supposedly helps direct calcium away from your arteries and into your bones (which is where you want calcium to be). Some experts suggest taking it with vitamin D3. That's what I do. But cardiologist Dr. William Davis has worked with thousands of patients and has not seen convincing evidence that taking K2 does very much. Dr. Davis certainly recommends taking vitamin D3, however. You can get a blood test for "25-hydroxy vitamin D3" and Dr. Davis believes an optimal result is 60 - 70 ng/mL (or 150 - 175 nmol/L). Most people who don't take a vitamin D3 supplement will probably have a 25-hydroxy value of 20 - 30 ng/mL. If you take a supplement, get it as a gelcap, not a solid pill. The gelcap should be produced with a beneficial oil like coconut or olive oil. Some are made with industrial seed oils (e.g. safflower), which you want to avoid.

A great presentation by a Physician with excellent communication skills. So much has advanced in cardiac care in the 20 years since I retired. I've learned a lot from your video presentations. The EECP looks similar to the MAST suits we used in the early to mid-1980s for trauma patients with blood loss. They fell out of favor due to a high frequency of secondary complications. Of course, this EECP suit uses arm cuffs, etc. It does look a bit like a freaky "Frankenstein" invention. Or a medical device designed by Rube Goldberg. When I see it operating. What is the maximium heart rate that it can keep up with? Does it work with irregular rhythms like A-Fib? Thanks. Sincerely, MSM MD

I really like your videos. Very crisp and educational and makes one rethink and challenge the traditional understandings. I was wondering two things: 1. Can the EECP reduce the chance of (brain) stroke as well? 2. Will a guy, who excercises regularly, have good collateral blood flow? I do not have angina but is there a way I can develop better collaterals just as a defensive mechanism?

My questions also. Blood vessels increase when building muscle by strength training? Seems logical new vessels grow in heart when strengthen. But this therapy compresses more blood into heart when in relaxed stage so likely a different dynamic than exercise alone.

Hello Dr.Jamnadas, thank you for such an excellent video explaining about alternate option for CABG or PTCA. Based on the details provided in your video and few others I am reviewing, I am unclear if EECP has the potential to promote growth of collaterals to compensate any blocks in Right arterial system as well. I’m trying to learn through research articles online looking for solution for my father’s right ventricular dysfunction following a MI recently and have been given an option to undergo 2nd time CABG or PTCA (not prefered by doctor). But we are looking for non-invasive options. Thank you.

I’m just wondering what mechanism is responsible for collateral vascularization. Could it be the flow restriction at the narrowing with a Venturi effect causes pressure on the vessel wall that cause the vessels to develop? Just curious. :)

About blockages, I’ve read some studies that EDTA chelation unclogs the arteries. Have you heard of this?

Interesting. Sounds like has effects very similar to IBT...inclined bed therapy. Bet the 2 work very well together but the IBT is free. It lowered my diastolic and systolic both 10 points. Ancient Egyptians slept this way. Studies show it causes lymphatic and blood circulation to occur WITHOUT effort from heart by gravity combined with change in relative density of fluids, caused by release of water vapor from exhalations. Physics works.

You are confusing high blood pressure with heart failure. EECP is for the latter

@@SimonFranck100 I have not confused them at all. I merely reported one of the outcomes I experienced with IBT. In addition to various effects relating to improved circulation, which are myriad but subtle, it also reduced my blood pressure. Which is not bad for a therapy that is both effortless and free.
