TRUE every thing makes sense now, i thought god in the universe of evangelion had abandoned both humanity and the angels but this is actually reasonable

There are no other Lilith-based Evas because Seele intended to use none other than Lilith herself as their wishgranter, making Lilith's clones would only increase the risk of other people hijacking the Third Impact, which was exactly what Gendo tried to do. I suspect that Unit 1 only exists because of Yui.

More like they didn't know what they were doing when making 01. Pretty sure 02 is also from Lilith though, 00 is the first from Adam and that is the reason it doesn't accept Rei at first (she is a clone made with lilith so not compatible).

@@kintsuki99 Nah 02 is Adam, we know this for 4 reasons: 1- Gendo and Fuyutsuki singled out 01 as not just the most important one for their 3I, but the only option. That's not just bc of Yui. 2- In EoE it has dark skin, just as 00 is shown to. Sachiel, Zeruel, Israfel, all the humanoid Angels have dark skin. Lilith and 01 are both pale. 3- 00 and 02 are of a very similar build and armor config, 01 is completely different though. 00 is just weird because Rei II is trying to synch with Rei I, which isn't exactly a mother-child protectiveness dynamic.

Thank you for this video. Gonna watch your Unit 02 next. Many KZreadrs often don’t dive into things like this cuz I think just talking about the depression somehow gets more engagement

You know, the first time watched the original series with my partner in 2013 I had so many that he didn’t know the answer to or partial answers like:what was the first impact exactly? Or what are angels? Ten years later here I am like “oh!” “That makes sense” “that answers a lot”

Do we know for certain that an Eva must have the soul of the pilot's mother? Sure, that's true for Unit 1 and partially for Unit 2 and maybe Unit 0, but what about others? Every student in Homeroom 2-A is a potential pilot. Are they all motherless? Does Nerv or Seele or the Marduk Institute have their mothers' souls stored in a bank somewhere? Or does the pilot provide the soul that allows the Eva to operate, but those first three have something extra?

Remember in the woods when shinji runs away? Kensuke says he doesn't have a mother either. Its implied that Toji also doesn't have family because we never see his parents looking after his sister. It could be any family member really, they just need the soul to want to protect the pilot.

About Toji, it was never implied that he lost a family member shortly before he was chosen as the 4th Child.

But the video made a comment about Eva requiring the soul of the pilot's mother, and I was wondering "Is that a bit of obscure lore I somehow missed, or was that just fan speculation being stated as if it were actually established somewhere?"

I think this video was written by AI, and not proof read by someone who actually understands the series. because the narration is missing key transitional words. The right words are there, but they are not put in the correct order to tell the plot correctly.

Not really... A lot of what was said is expeculation and not supported by the anime + spin off - reboots narative. The reboots have a lot of retcons so they can't be taken as part of the original.

The first manga panel showed was from "The Shinji Ikari Raising Project" a spin off of Evangelion

Imho the fact that people dont understand this show decades later is a failure. While iconic, they really shouldve added an episode explaining these scenes. Maybe a flashback scene or a quick ova thats a flashback or... something. Im all for high scifi and but theres a difference betweenn making content that you have to think about and making content that doesnt make sense.

I wouldn’t mind being an Eva pilot.

Episode talking about first Impact. It is not even sure if that is truly Adfam though, that is the Angel that "fused": with Lilith causing the 1st impact, Adam is (supposedly) what remained of it after the event. Though Evangelion is a timeloop type story so what caused the 1st impact is not clear.

I'm not sure if he's being deliberately obtuse with his verdict, but I think he should have looked a little deeper into how each pilot is conditioned to only rely on their Eva unit and Gendo. Otherwise maybe just not done a poorly narrated a video on a complex anime when his talking basically only covers the premise in the wiki with barely any context

As an EVA fan, i’ve come to accept that this series is not about the lore and is terrible at world building, it’s all about the sad boi vibes. like the AT field as a concept is thematically important, but i had to look up what it mean and i gotta say, they didn’t spend a lot of time thinking about the name of it.

Hearing americans trying to pronounce foreign words always makes me cringe. For those who don't know Nerv, Seele and Gehirn are german words. They mean nerve, soul and brain. And you pronounced non of them even close to correctly. Ididn't even know what you were talking about at first.

Totally wrong, EVA00 and EVA02 were made based on Lilith and EVA01 was made based on Adam, this is why other EVAs have different eye configurations while EVA01 has two eyes. Notice also EVA01 didn't obtain the S2 engine from Zeruel, it has always had one, it moved by itself many times during the series while unplugged, without a pilot and with the batteries depleted, actually in the original series Zeruel tried to destroy EVA01's S2 engine just before it went berserk. Next time just attach to the facts, no need to create controversial content out of personal fantasies and misinterpretensions.

EVA01 S2 engine wasn't complete, that's why it had difficulty to act on it's own, only activating on almost death situations. And u get the bases of EVA construction wrong.

I dont think so we saw a sample of what whould happen when shinji melts into the lcl and he completely loses his feeling of self. Hence when instrumentality happens we can assume that all souls would blend together becoming a new thing all together. There's no reason to assume that anyone's individual "self" would remain as one's self is ego and when all are one there's no need for ego

What a dumb dumb story once you hear the whole thing.

I don't know where any of this theoretical information would even come from, but the more I learn about the Evangelion story the more absurd it sounds. Literally nothing about it makes any sense. I can only conclude that Anno was doing every drug he get his hands on. The fact that the movie remakes are even more ridiculous than the series shows how much it depended on everything *but* the story.

Lilith was the first person to defy the will of God and angels. That's why Eva unit 1 was made from her. Adam was the first and followed divine law while every woman God made broke it first chance they got.
