Why do you think Drake Maye is an excellent quarterback?

Patriots fan. I hope Maye falls to us at 3. He is a better prospect than Daniels, and no amount of wins and losses is going to change that fact. He has the build, arm, and athleticism to thrive in New England (outdoors, cold weather). He might not be ready to play day 1 but that is what Jacoby Brissett is for!! Maye ceiling - with the right development - is Phillip Rivers or Eli Manning. I'll take that all day.

I sincerely hope the commanders?( if they don’t trade out of the 2nd pick )do NOT pass (no pun intended) on Drake May. I know many of the commanders faithful prefer JD, however if it were up to me, I’d pick DM. I wonder how each would have done if they had switched teams. Not implying DM would have done better than JD did with LSU, also doubt JD would have done better than DM with NC. I hope both are successful wherever they end up.

Some constructive criticism: show the whole play before pausing it to break it down. Then after the breakdown show the whole play. IMHO fans will like it better.

Yeah, it's probably the vikings who are hoping Maye falls to #4. They're hoping Caleb, Daniels and MHJ go above the Cards so they will be more likely to trade back with them. Then, they'll get their QB. But just like last year with Stroud, I doubt Washington will pass on him.

Maye lost a huge chunk of his team going into '23, including all of his top receivers, his TE, most of his offensive line, and he played two less games than the year before. If the same thing happened to Caleb Williams or Jayden Daniels, their production similarly falls off, so what exactly is the issue with Maye other than some teams desperately trying to talk him down so they can steal him??? Maye is cut from the same cloth as John Elway, Troy Aikman, Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck and Josh Allen. You take him at #1 and don't look back, unless Caleb is there and then you flip a coin.

Good thing you picked those two plays from the Holiday Bowl because there wasn't much else to work with.

Yes there is he definitely made the most nfl level throws especially over the middle of the field during the past 2 seasons.

Don’t compare Drake Maye to CJ Stroud. Before I saw CJ play in the NFL I saw some college games and he played in them. He was outstanding. Drake Maye did not play on CJ’s level. The only reason I’ve heard for him being highly rated in this draft was that he’s a big guy and has a high ceiling. No skills or stats are backing it.

He had the stats his red shirt freshman year 38 TDS to 7 int with 4300 yards passing and 700 yards rushing. Then he lost his two best receivers and his offensive coordinator left.

Watch every throw from his 2023 season. I found him to be the best talent of all the quarterbacks when watching every throw and run from his entire season, and there’s a reason why he went top 3 in the draft. He’s a major league talent. He needs work, they all do. Half these guys fail, he might too, but none of the top QB’s had less to work with than this guy last year. If he were the QB on LSU or Michigan he would have been the number 1 pick in the draft, and we would have been talking about him as the second coming.

Just remember, not too many people was" sold" on Patrick mahomes or even better Tom Brady when I was coming out of college and we know the rest of those stories .
