I think it's like you said/implied, folks expect Texas to win and Michigan is a little unknown except on defense. Michigan beat the team that beat Texas last year, but now almost the entire coaching staff has turned over. Early in the season we won't know what Michigan is like yet, so that's the expectation. Along with great players, you didn't mention Will Johnson who was outstanding even against Marvin Harrison Jr the last two years. Michigan's O-line is really good on paper, but it's early to say. The odds are against Michigan, but they are who I'll be rooting for.

@@jasonite The culture that appears to have been solidified at UofM doesn’t seem to be going anywhere I’d be shocked if Michigan falls off this season, even w the tough schedule, most of them are at Michigan Stadium Their D will be Top 5 again (led by the man who created the scheme) Best TE in America in Loveland Best CB in America in Johnson Best DL combo in America in Graham & Jenkins All American in Edwards at RB Top 5 OL Their track record of late says it all Now there’s kids who’ve sat for 3/4yrs who are going to be starting this year. Kids who went against their D for years on Scout O. I think it’s safe to assume that they’ll be able to run the football & protect the QB) Only ? Mark is QB. @@scottd1903 im thinking it will be a very similar game to Texas' versus Alabama last year. Texas on the road in a BIG TIME environment vs a BIG TIME school. Honestly 23 Alabama and 24 michigan offences might stack up fairly evenly, Orji gives me a similar feel as Milroe. Our defence despite rod moore going down, will still be really good and Texas lost 3 WR and 2 RB to the draft. They will probably somewhat struggle on offense, maybe two or three long balls, and like Joel said this game will set the tone for the season. I give teams like Texas next year, a good 50/50 chance to win these games. I do not think this team is prime Alabama or prime Georgia or prime Clemson where they can walk into a REALLY GOOD team's building 2nd week of the year TWO years in a row and win again. This will be as tough for Texas and Michigan. We are about to see if defense wins championships because itll be our defence vs quinn ewers. Regardless of the outcome it will probably go down as a classic.

@MegaAKuRAi agreed. I think Texas is one of, if not the, most overrated team this preseason. I don't think they're even as good as they were last year, and I think they were overrated last year too, thanks to the win (albeit an impressive win) against alabama. The SEC is so much tougher than the B12, and while they got "lucky" and have about as easy of an SEC schedule as possible, I wouldn't be surprised it they dropped 4 games. If I had to bet now, I'd say they go 9-3 with loses to michigan (on the road), Georgia, and 1 other, likely Oklahoma and/or maybe A&M (both on the road).

Things that never change: Ohio State wins the National Championship EVERY offseason!!! Ohio State fans mock the rosters and coaches of all the teams that end up beating them, seasoning their expert takes with plenty of flippant emojis and “lol’s.” The ratio of confident predictions of “owning” and “wrecking” and “dominating” is always about 1:1 with the number of excuses as to why they don’t win big games, “snowing,” “the flu,” “targeting,” “injury,” and so on. And most of all……the amusement of other fanbases at Buckeyes’ expense is a wonder to behold and always a popular talking point at parties. I personally live in SEC country, south of Alabama in the Florida Panhandle. While FSU is the closest major program, I am in close proximity to many Georgia, Alabama, and Florida fans. The sheer volumes of Good ol’ boys who ask me, “When do you s’pose ol’ Ohio State gonna win somethin’ agin?” I just smile and shrug and say, “Just wait until the next offseason; I’m sure they’ll defend their title!”

I think people are overreacting to the losses Michigan had. They kept their culture and their schemes. Combine that with the development program they had, they are gonna go 10-2 or 11-1, and they’ll be top 3 in the big 10. They play Texas and Oregon in the big house. Michigan will be underdogs at home and will pull through. They go 1-1 vs Texas and oregon, and will probably lose to OSU this year. That’s the floor. The ceiling is orji is the next Lamar and Michigan runs for 250+ years per game with a top 3 defense and goes 12-0. The latter is highly unlikely, but Michigan will for sure be a double digit win team next year

Been saying that for 3 years now. It’s going to be glorious to watch Ohio state drop the ball once again and not win the natty. If Ohio state can’t win it this year they may never win another title

Crazy that OSU has the same number of Nattys as Michigan in those 40 years 😂😂😂 The Cuckeyes are only relevant because of Michigan
