Yes mine too, I’m not sure if it’s normal but android chargers don’t overheat the same even fast charging ones

I found out that the heatsink from a other component was SURROUNDING two capacitors that have become swollen from all the heat getting dumped around them, which caused them to dry out, causing the device to fail sooner.... And the manufacturer KNOWS this...

Honestly I would just buy a more efficient phone charger if it's overheating so much that you're considering that. I would not ever recommend adding a cooling system to your charger, but I've never thought about it before. Even if you did add a cooling system, though, the same amount of energy would be wasted.

Can you try to attach a peltier module to the phone charger side and to the other side some kind of heatsink in order to get some electricity from the wasted heat and charge a small lithium battery with it?

@@gyrofrank outcome would be hella janky but I love it!! Currently I'm planning to build a cooling system for my 120watt phone charger which I use with my legion 5 laptop (on bed just binge watching) which has 100watt power delivery via usb and the adapter gets hella hot so I'm first gonna slapp on some aluminium heatsinks and if that doesn't work then I'll add fans! What is the cost for such a machine. For a homeowner to install it and run these dc wires in the walls, or use wireless technology. What are the energy savings?

Hey Yogan, we wrote an article for LEDs magazine, and I believe there's an overview of cost in that article, here it is: www.ledsmagazine.com/connected-ssl-controls/article/14282125/what-can-dc-power-do-for-your-building

It is normal, but the heat emitted is energy wasted in the form of heat. It just means your ipad charger is pretty inefficient

This whole thing is STUPID! I don't care about volts equals watts equals I don't give a shit about that. Why is my charging block so hot that I can't even effing touch it? And then sometimes it's not! Didn't need the technical jargon.
