Why Do We Learn Thermodynamics?
This is an introductory lesson on the subject of thermodynamics. I go over the interesting history of this science, the First Law, Second Law, and include some demonstrations. I think thermodynamics is a pretty well understood subject, but it can be a little abstract and tough to grasp initially. Most of my studying was done using a single textbook, so I won't be including resources other than that. I found plenty of good information on websites and forums that I used as well that you can find with simple internet searches.

Textbook that I used to study:
"Thermodynamics: An Engineering Approach" by Y. Cengel and M. Boles

(Note that this is a low temperature model. You don't need and shouldn't use a blow torch to heat it or it will cook, I merely used one for better visual demonstration)

A complete series would be great. Thanks for the well described and engaging content.
Production quality is top notch!
So glad to see this pop up on my homepage. Such a good intro! 😁 Thermo is tough but you made it easy.

This is great! I heard that thermodynamics is one of the most difficult topics in ME. Thanks.

In fact I can disagree, but is a tuff grade and it's pretty important, so keep this in your mind

It can be depending on how good/bad the professor is

Its kinda beautiful in my opinion, but yea if you are just studying it for grades, I can imagine why it would be a nightmare for some

I found it certainly more difficult than statics and dynamics, but not as difficult as aerodynamics (navier stokes equations in particular)
Great job Wissam! I've taken Thermodynamics and Advanced Thermodynamics at my school, the University at Buffalo, and your introduction to this topic was perfect. I found these classes to be challenging, but very interesting and worthwhile. Would love a continuation on this topic, as well as Heat Transfer! Great to see you back!
Sheesh man, watching you from your very beginning. Please do not disappear more
Video was well made! This could totally become a series ;)
Thank you! Do fluids next
The editing in this video is phenomenal! Keep it up man
this got into some pretty tough concepts while still being entertaining
You're such a great teacher! I don't think I'll learn as much thermo as you mechanical engineers but I still think it's really cool! Thank you!
Awesome video! Don’t know why this doesn’t have more views
the explanation is spot on really helped me understand things in a better way
Really great channel. Really well done. Great production too. Keep it up. I think this channel will really do well. Engineers and STEM people will love it!
Wonderful video production! Not only can you teach thermodynamics, but you can produce and direct movies!😀👍 👏 👏
Thermo and fluids are my top tier topics. Love it!
Eyyyyyyy we missed you!
Finally you're back!! Great video man. Hope you've been doing well
Brilliantly delivered! Thanks, Wisam :D
wow this video was amazing thank you
was better explaining the core idea than one of my university courses indeed
Awesome video. Love from India We need more videos like these even if there's much of it already on KZread 👍
Hillarious, considering I am taking thermodynamics courses in the same university you went to this fall
More o these types of videos would rule fo real
Make a series outta this
You should do this for other engineering classes!
MORE VIDEOS ON THERMO PLEASE ! ALSO HOW TO STUDY IT? I NEED THIS CONTENT ASAP !
The First Law of Thermodynamics: You Cannot Win. The Second Law of Thermodynamics: You Cannot Break Even.
I'm not sure if I should take thermo dynimacs next semester or the one after that, what do yall think about that? Also good to see you post Wissam all good on your end of the screen because you went dark for some time.
well done, keep it up
Real defination of thermodynamics is "how to harvest energy from an energy storage (eg: Fuel), and use it to do something useful (eg: work)
What if there is an element that can Reverse entropy.
You kinda dropped a semester late lol😂 I took this class already and it would’ve really helped increase my grade. Great video tho Wissam
nice vid
Can i land at first job at age of 26
I m going to have Thermo next year at university I am pretty scared 😂
Have you ever considered teaching?

Space is a working system but it remains freezing. If thermodynamics is true why does it not heat up LOL.

@@WissamSeif matter is an illusion of the eyes. Atoms ate 99.9% empty space. So there is no matter. Only energy. Frequency and vibration. And since space is a working system that exists as a fabric youd still expect it to get hot as thermodynamics states.
