@@girlnextdoor0703 I used to sell quite a bit on Ebay. Had a lot of glass items and mechanical parts that I'd take a chance on by listing at low starting bids. Quite a few times items would surprise me with how high they would go. (Best was $1500.00 on a $2.00 starting bid) Some would go for opening bids. When they started chrging percentage, I quit taking the risk as some I ended up paying more in fees than what I got. I contacted Ebay and asked why and they said a few people charging like $125.00 dhipping with a buy it now of $1.00 for a $150.00 item to avoid fees. I told her fine, If you see those people, kick them off and leave us alone. She said they couldn't which I replied that you're TOO lazy and this is all about finding another revunue increase for your company. I told her you are actually going to loose revenue as I will no longer list heavy items that could go for low prices. She then told me to just raise the starting bid to cover the fees on the shipping. I did that one time and explained in the listing saying just that. They pulled all my auctions and said I could say that in the listings. LOL

It is called the endowment effect. People value things closely associated with them more, and it is hard for them to see reality for what it is. Same thing with people's children. Everyone values their children more than other do. Same thing with property, cars, beliefs, etc. Same with with religion, nationality, etc. It even happens with hometown pro sports teams. There are often players who are menaces to society, but the people in the city they are playing in mostly see the bright side and overlook the bad actions. It is a psychological issue that will never change. Somewhat similar is the following example. If you are reading an article, say about politics, there will be comments below the article. If you don't post, and somebody says exactly what you are thinking, and another person calls them a name, you won't react anywhere near as negative as you would if you had posted the exact same thing on this anonymous message board. Just like when somebody cuts somebody else off in traffic....you may say, that person is a bad person for cutting them off, but if they cut you off, then it is personal, and they are a lowlife horrible person.

Hello Pete 👋 long time watcher of your channel long time resident of Washington state if you get a chance to go to Washington State make sure that you see the east side of the state which is mostly desert kind of area with the Columbia river running through the middle of it that's where Spokane is

Hi Pete, you are truly generous with most of your offers. Sometimes its a good hit or a big miss with certain merchandise. At my Pawn Shop in Maine My boss usually offered 25-40% off retail value, depending on supply, condition, demand or uniqueness all for which I know you asset. I think you are extremely fair with your offers and know the values of items. It’s Unfortunately about the Tesla console, buthopefully there are more wins than not so good ones. Take care and keep up the informative and great quality videos. Regards, Eddie B

As a shopper on eBay I think a lot of them accounts where the price for the item is like out of range is a setup add to make the item look like it's more than what it really is and then a couple ads down the item will be for sale way cheaper

You win some, you lose some. People have to understand the wholesale/ reseller value when selling to you. You have to make money after you pay your bills and your employees. If it’s not worth it to you then people have to understand and they can try to unload it themselves.

The simple and truthful answer to your question is because rent is too damn high. I see people at the Swap Meet nowadays here in California with things priced higher than what you can buy the same item for brand new.
