Let me tell you what worked for me. Now, ill give you a disclaimer: it takes time and the devil will try to bring those thoughts back later on in your life. Ight so with that disclaimer, let's get into it. So what I did was I had to continuously renounce and denounce these thoughts. Renouncing and denouncing means to forsake or abandon. So you have to continuously renounce and denounce these thoughts in Jesus Name every single day. It isnt going to just go away in one day. It's a process. Trust me it works. These thoughts used to torment me day and night, but Jesus helped me and He can help you too. Stay grounded in Him❤

Don't Give up hope Brother and don't be sad every human being is a sinner, sin being an inevitable outcome of a fallible human nature. No matter how righteous a person is, he or she may at times disobey God through ignorance or forgetfulness ,Remember When Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden tree in paradise, It was Satan who deceived and cajoled them, whereupon they exercised their free will and made an error in judgement. Together, Adam and Eve realised their disobedience, felt remorse and begged for God’s forgiveness, Because God is the all Just and all merciful,God in his infinite mercy and wisdom, forgave them,God set the precedent that He will forgive those who turn to Him in sincere repentance We will all find ourselves in a similar situation as Adam and Eve so Salvation comes from God alone in seeking forgiveness, so when a person seeks forgiveness, he must turn to God submissively with true remorse and beg forgiveness, promising not to repeat the sin. Then and only then will sins be forgiven, so as God says: The door to forgiveness is open to anyone who seeks it

@@Shitsukee3 Don't Give up hope Brother and don't be sad as I told before every human being is a sinner, sin being an inevitable outcome of a fallible human nature. No matter how righteous a person is, he or she may at times disobey God through ignorance or forgetfulness, in fact The journey of life can be like a roller coaster We often experience extreme conditions which create despondency and hopelessness, we believers know that we will face times of difficulty on this life It is one of those unavoidable facts of life we may find ourselves lost, helpless, and stalled finding it difficult to gather ourselves, For such situations specifically and others in general Even when all doors appear to have been closed,as true believers we have to try hard to embrace the struggles of life and Trust in God , embrace them and never ever lose hope and always place complete Reliance and Trust in God The faith teaches us to stay in control by hanging on to the Mercy and Grace of God We pray that God keeps us safe from the challenges and trials of life, we should never let feelings of helplessness succumb us, helplessness opens the door to the work of the Satans,The devil can fear and plant doubts in our hearts and minds rather that opens the door to blame, panic, discontentment, regret and grief, all of which are the work of the Satans When faith seems to be dwindling,we should get back to the our creator and remind ourselves that only God can let us out of our ordeal and problems we must therefore keep that faith and not let Satan instill thoughts that could weaken our faith, so a strong faith can keep us focused on the fact that God alone ultimately controls all destinies and has power over all things, Remembering that fact alone at the moment of affliction can help us in conquering the pain and provide us hope and the energy to keep moving forward So as a result, we will find care, help, protection and victory because we will depend on our Lord for everything.

@@niusaeliane5424 But you CAN change brother. Phillipians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strenghtens me". Dont give up. I know the feeling and struggle, its anything but easy but its indeed possible. 1 John 3:9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for his seed remains in him and he cannot sin because he is born of God. Please dont take this the wrong way, im not shaming or blaming you in any way, shape or form but what if i told you that the reason why you cant let go of that sin is because you are only a lukewarm christian. On top of that you dont truly realize your true nature as a child of God and you dont truly feel loved. But God does indeed love you, his love is so powerful, you and i cannot even fathom the richness of his love and trust me when i tell you that God has never left your side, he is with you always and loves you immensly, his love for YOU cannot even be described in words BUT God lets us fall and suffer because he wants us to take it more serious and to learn from mistakes. It is indeed a fight and we are to put on the armour of God. We cannot serve two masters. We are commanded to repent from sin (repent means to turn away), and again i know how freakin difficult it is but let me tell you something. Just the fact that you feel shame, worthless and guilty afterwards is the Holy Spirit conviciting you. If you didnt feel worthless and dirty etc it would mean you dont have the Holy Spirit trying to reach you but every time we sin, it grieves the Holy Spirit. So please dont believe but KNOW that God has bigger plans for you, he draws you unto himelf but true salvation does not come without a struggle, we all have to go through struggles. But what it all comes down to is that you dont truly feel loved and dont truly believe a 100%, you have "some" doubts, you are only lukewarm and God will not intervene and help you to overcome your struggles for as long as you are only lukewarm. I was only lukewarm too for almost a decade, yes 10 years of a vicious deathly cycle of sin where i kept praying for the same sins every night and nothing changed for 10 years. I had to fall so deep and low first (including serious illness because of it) before i started to take it more seriously and stopped being lukewarm. I had to fall very deep before it clicked for me, i reached such a low point where i REALLY wanted to know Jesus and have a relationship with him, thats the phase im in at the moment. And im here to tell you that its inded possible and God indeed loves you and always has. You are right God will not forgive you, HE ALREADY HAS FORGIVEN YOU but he also wants you to fight harder and stop being lukewarm but you dont have to fall as deep as i did before making that decision or maybe you have to but i wouldnt let it come that far because its VERY painful. Sin exists in the heart. Its a desire we must overcome by walking in the spirit and setting our minds on things of the spirit. In other words you are sitting on the fence, you are neither on the left, nor right sight and thats something God doesnt like at all. He wants us to make up our mind, we cannot serve two masters (Matthew 6:24). Also KNOW that God will not suffer you to be tempted beyond that which you can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13). So you CAN overcome but not without the help of Jesus and for that we must not be lukewarm. Jesus loves you brother. Dont beat yourself up because of all the sins you have commited in your life. Stop the guilt immediately. Matthew 9:2 "Son be of good cheer, thy sins be forgiven." But also repent / fight harder, turn away from sin, for Jesus commandd us to do so or else a worse thing may come upon us (John 5:14). And again Phillipians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me", so please stop doubting. Cast doubt out, YOU CAN INDEED OVERCOME, God is with you and he loves you and always has, never forget that brother. You feeling worthless and dirty afterwards is the Holy Spirit conviciting you, its a good sign, and its should prove to you that God is with you and he has NOT forsaken you but he also wants you to be more than lukewarm. Jesus loves you so much man, you cant even fanthom. Please dont give up, dont let the devil win over you. You are so close of overcoming, i can sense it. Do not give in now, especially since the Holy Spirit is with you and convicting you. I will pray for you brother. JESUS LOVES YOU.

You can find answers to any questions you have about your sexuality in your relationship with God. He will surely point out to you anything that is possibly in the way of closeness to Him, whether that's a wrong action or behavior, or a wrong mindset. So, if you focus on building or deepening your relationship with God, then you will be able to seek and receive his precise guidance on anything. I can share this: sexual desire in itself is natural and not sinful. But there is sin when purity of heart and self-control in one's thoughts and actions are lacking (Matthew 5:8, 1 Corinthians 9:24-27), for instance, in the case of having an addiction or intending to engage in any lawless behavior (remember sin begins in your heart/mind). It's up to you to know if any situation you are involved in is sinful because of such reasons or any other indication you have from God. Make sure you approach God in genuine repentance so you will have the Holy Spirit to lead you to "walk by the Spirit" (Acts 2:38, Galatians 5:16)-with a pure heart and self-control, which is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). You must submit to God. That is essential: James 4:7-8 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. That's what the attitude of your heart needs to be when you are going through the process of *repentance* and committing to be obedient to God for the rest of your life. You must sincerely regret having sinned against God, and come to the point of hearing and agreeing 100% with Jesus' message saying, "I do not condemn you, now go and don't sin anymore" (John 8:11). Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways is key-that's how you show your faith to God (John 3:36, Luke 6:46, Hebrews 3:17-18). That opens the door to receiving his *forgiveness* for your past sins (2 Peter 1:9), *healing* (Luke 5:31-32), *freedom from sin/addictions* (John 8:34-36), and the gift of *a new life* that you will live for God and no longer for sin and the passing things of the world (Romans 6:4, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15). That is salvation. Please stay in the word and obey it (James 1:21-22). The word of God is fuel for your faith. To live as a follower of Jesus you must go out of your way to put the word of God in your heart and keep it there, rejecting all distractions. It's a fight and that's how you need to stand to not fall down. The truth will set you free from all sin (John 8:31-32, 36).

The closer you try and get to God the harder the devil works to keep you away from God. He does this by keeping you locked in sin and worse, he tries to convince you are not worthy. Jesus doesn't count the times you fall, he just wants you to pick up your cross and never give up hope. The devil says, "avoid the cross", Jesus says embrace it. We are all unique God did not create any one of us like another. Some will overcome sin faster and easier than others. Don't compare yourself to someone else compare yourself to you yesterday. Christ knows what is in your heart and he understands your struggles even if you don't. Your salvation is not a scorecard. The Apostle Paul in Romans 7:19: For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing.

Why do preachers put so much faith in DOING rather than ABIDING? This is a shocking truth: reading the bible, prayer and attempting to discipline yourself WILL NOT DEFEAT SIN in your life! The only thing that will defeat sin is the ONE who has ALREADY COMPLETELY DEFEATED SIN. Jesus himself! We can only become like him when we understand that we are ALREADY like Him in perfect holiness and righteousness. Jesus and ALL HIS PERFECTION is residing IN YOU, AS YOU! You are IN HIM and He is IN YOU. So simply rest and agree with what Jesus says and reveals about you. Count yourself dead to sin in Jesus and be set free in the peace and joy of His Fullness in you!

That may have helped for you and the people your around but the sanctification process is no cookie cutter process brother! I enjoyed this little message. It was very encouraging.

Not just theologically accurate. True. Jesus said if we ABIDE in HIM and HIS WORDS abide in us we will KNOW the truth and the TRUTH will set us free. What does that mean to you? He was not saying that memorising Bible verses will set us free. He was saying that his inner, personal word regarding our true identity, and experiencing the deep personal love of the Father Son and Spirit, will set us free. Jesus' personal word to us is based in his personal knowledge of us and our unique needs, and his unique expression of his love within and to us. Sanctification is not based on knowledge ABOUT God, but OF Jesus personally. And it is not legalistic or judgemental in any way. Striving to overcome guilt or repenting of sin in order to get on the "right side" of God is a recipe for failure. God is not waiting for us to clean up OUR act, He HAS cleaned up our act in Jesus!

Yes again very biblical. But the very thing your saying is what causes a person, a believer to work again. It's a grand statement and though biblical, it is not explained practically for day to day living. It's not simply understanding on a theological level. Great saints such as AW Tozer, St Augustine, Paul (Romans 7) will tell you that head knowledge is not enough. The head and the heart can be miles away from each other. Nobody in this world reaches a place of continual abiding. We have to teach that everyday abiding in God is a pursuit, a journey, not a destination we can arrive to in this realm. Yes we can experience victory of over sin. But people need to know victory may not always mean that the temptation has ceased. That the urges have vanished. Yes the more we pursue and behold Jesus we become more like him. But we will never experience the complete victory (in the sense of no more struggling) until we are resurrected from this place. Thats all I am saying. Make sure to teach that victory is a life long process and journey not a destination.

Brian Dikas Well said Brian. I agree. We may never experience the full victory over sin in this present life, but we can rest, our consciences being clear, and our hearts untroubled by guilt. Jesus IS, our victory, and he has taken into himself all the ultimate consequences of our sin. It is as we reflect on this truth that we will naturally and effortlessly be set free from the power of sin. But yes, it is progressive. It comes about through the progressive conversation of the Logos in our hearts. Bless you brother.

It is important that you answer God's call to repentance the way the Bible teaches. You must sincerely regret having sinned against God, and come to the point of hearing and agreeing 100% with Jesus' message saying, "I do not condemn you, now go and don't sin anymore" (John 8:11). Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways is key. That opens the door to receiving his *forgiveness* for your past sins (Romans 3:25), *healing* (Luke 5:31-32), freedom from sin/addictions (John 8:34-36), and the gift of *a new life* that you will live for God and no longer for sin and the passing things of the world (Romans 6:4, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15). That is salvation. It is the truth that will set you free (John 8:31-32, 36).

One point I would love to share is that I heard a lecture (Islamic) where they told that In The Holy Quran (Book Of GOD),devil said To ALLAH (GOD) that he would make people go astray and would attack them from the front (by greed of the future),from back (from making people forget Favors Of ALLAH upon them that they we're blessed with in life, and from right and left, and that ALLAH Would find most people to be ungrateful! Now looking deep into this,it means that only ungrateful people would sin, people who have no gratitude towards The Mercy and Blessings That GOD Blessed them with! That is why when Prophet Yusuf A.S was approached for sinful act,He turned it down saying these words,My Master Has Been Very Kind To Me! So in short gratitude Towards GOD helps refraining from sin,it's just that the devil makes most people forget this, like nobody would think and (stop from sinning),no no I can not be ungrateful, how can I forget that time when I was about to lose my job but GOD listened to my Prayer and saved me from losing my job,or how can I forget that I really wanted to date this certain person, but GOD Did Not let it happen but only because later I found out the person was not of good nature, and being in relationship would have caused me pain! I hope everyone, including myself would observe this, that is when heart starts to incline towards sinning, start to remember Favors Of ALLAH (GOD) IN SHA ALLAH,even if it's something as simple as having the ability to breathe with ease!♥️

blessed by your words praise Jesus. I have been saved since the age of 7 and I am 54 now. I have learned that we have the power to say no to sin through Christ Jesus. When I practiced sin in my 20s I did it because I wanted to and I did not seek First the Kingdom of God and I stopped reading my bible daily I would still read it but maybe 3 or 4 times a week, not every day as I did before. God showed me that only He can open eyes and with His Holy Spirit can keep us living right making the right choices. He allowed me to go through the pain of not seeking Him every day even though it was only 3 months when I was 27 it was my worst 3 months ever. When we sin we choose to sin but we really do not have to sin because Jesus gave us the power to say no when we really want to say no it is possible. Until God allows the devil to bring distress in our lives that is when we decide we had enough and do not want to go through the pain of our sin. If God allowed everyone to get away with their sin without receiving the punishment people would continue to sin and it would be worse in this world. God wants us to live in peace and He will make sure to keep all of us in line so we do not give those around us grief. Like many people want to get married but they live like the devil while saying they're Christians and God sees them and know their thoughts. God keeps these people single until He changes them so it will keep these people from ruining someone else's life with the sinful ways they do not want to give up. When we decide to stop practicing sin our bodies start to ache because we are getting delivered from the addiction some people cannot take the pain so they keep the sin. I say go through the pain which is horrible but once God sets you free you never go back because of not wanting to go through that pain ever again. God gives us the horrible pain so we do not do that sin again to avoid the pain because sin does hurt. John 5:14Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.” 1 Peter 5:10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. Galatians 4:9 But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage? Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. 1 John 3: 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Luke 8: 12 Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. John 13: 2 And supper being ended, the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Him,

And most especially CUT ALL TIES WHERE THE DEVIL MAY COME AT YOU. YOU KNOW YOUR WEAKNESSES, DELETE EVERY THING THAT BRIDGES YOUR MIND AND FLESH TO THAT SIN. This is called the doctrine of Holiness, to be separated from worldliness is to be Free in Christ. Without holiness, we're just all jumping in the muddy puddles of sin. Don't believe the lie of the devil, you can be freed from prn, mstrbtn, smoking, drugs and any chains that bind us. God bless everyone, see that the day of the Lord os approaching, walk in full holiness, peace and wisdom and vigilance in our current events.

Instead of feeling guilt and shame (condemning and giving up on yourself), call upon God and ask him to help you to overcome the sins, one or a few at a time. All human beings struggle with sin, so just pray to Jesus everyday and much of it will disappear with time and perseverance. I heard someone say 'everyday wake up and go forth and tell yourself, I am a saint of God, I have God on my side to strengthen me to do better today'. I think this is a good mindset because it puts us in a good and confident place to start the day and embark on the battle worth fighting everyday for our betterment due to our love of God. Be very blessed as you go on.

You are in a battle for your soul (we all are) and it has to be won in your mind. Ask God to help you stay focused on right thoughts. But don't get distracted. You need to keep your mind on living in a way that pleases God in every way, from your thoughts to your actions. If you realize that you are trapped and need to be delivered, knowing what you need to do goes together with prayers for your deliverance, because you must follow God's instructions to you in your situation. You must be willing to see what it feels like to say "No" to a desire of your flesh when you are being tempted, and see how the temptation goes away (James 1:12-15, 1 Corinthians 10:13). God's grace will help you to do that (Titus 2:11-14) and He will be with you in all those moments if your focus is on loving and pleasing Him above all and you trust that He will deliver you. Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways opens the door to receiving his forgiveness for your past sins (Romans 3:25), healing (Luke 5:31-32), and the gift of *a new life* that you will live for God and no longer for sin/addictions and the passing things of the world (Romans 6:4-7, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15). You just need to approach God the way He expects you to-with the right mindset. James 1:21-22 21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness [that's repentance], receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the word [that's faith, which implies obedience], and not only hearers, deluding your own selves. James 4:7-8 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. This is always a good place to start drawing near to God: Psalm 119:11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. That will lead you to transformation by the power of God and freedom from sin. Peace to you!

I am also scared that I would continue to betray he Lord my God. Do I just have to resist the foods and drinks because of what the Apostle Paul said, and endure all the yelling? Please pray for me.

I know how everyone feels. I got saved a few years ago .I have been doing so well with the Lord, I never wanted to grieve the holy spirit, but I have been struggling alot with fornication . I know it's wrong in my spirit but I still find myself doing it over and over. I have repented do many times I cry unto the Lord about my struggle. But I as I said I find myself back into the same situation. I have come to the point now where I know god have left me, I just feel like I want to let go of God ,am tired of sinning against God , am tired of grieving the Lord, I keep on saying to myself if I don't make it into heaven I will know why , it's been my desire to be with the Lord and his Saints in heaven, but am not sure if I will enter in..

We can do this sister. I believe it. He says Believe and u shall receive submit urselves to god and resist the devil. Resist and he will flee away from you we can do this sister. I just committed a horrible sin yesterday and today. Im sorry Jesus please forgive us. I dont want to use this sin to far myself away from him. we can do this with His help 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽😭😭😭🌸

If you havent. read the word and believe the truth about you. Scripture says he who started the work in you is faithful to finish it till the end. Bible says God will never leave nor forsake you. So long as you have a conviction (not condemnation) the spirit is working. Sin dulls but the lord is still there it clouds us and makes it hard to see but hes still there. If you believe he is there. faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. We do not live by how we feel because it is deceptive. Bible says we worship God in spirit and TRUTH! Believe the truth even if you dont feel. He is always there. A Father will not take back his adopted son if he disobeyed. He loves him too much.

Together, Adam and Eve realised their disobedience, felt remorse and begged for God’s forgiveness, Because God is the all Just and all merciful,God in his infinite mercy and wisdom, forgave them,God set the precedent that He will forgive those who turn to Him in sincere repentance Because We will all find ourselves in a similar situation as Adam and Eve so Salvation comes from God alone in seeking forgiveness, so when a person seeks forgiveness, he must turn to God submissively with true remorse and beg forgiveness, promising not to repeat the sin. Then and only then will sins be forgiven, so as God says: The door to forgiveness is open to anyone who seeks it

It is the truth that will set you free (John 8:31-32, 36).

if you still struggle with the same sin over and over, the reason is because that sin is a solution to something deeper rooted in your mind.Thats why you commit that sin even when you know you would feel guilty afterwards, its because it solves a burning problem you have not realised. For example, if you struggle with cheating in exams, it might be rooted in your feelings of incompetence and procrastination. Same with alcohol and porn addiction, it is rooted in some idea or past experience or mindset of your self that you have to identify and pray for.

When Jesus died on the cross, he took on that punishment that you deserve and he bore all of it. He took the punishment so that you don’t have to. And now, all you must do is say to God that you are sorry, that you will strive to never do it again and that you trust that you will be saved from punishment. I’ll pray for you.

I’ve been atheist, agnostic, pagan, but only in Christ am I satisfied and healed. Ever since coming to him temptations have been less and less and I’m so grateful for this however, when I am faced with temptation I just fall into it and there’s something telling me “do this” “go there” when temptations arise but I never listen and I’m tired of this cycle and don’t know what to do. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I’ve stopped watching Yano what but it doesn’t leave my mind and I see it all the time when in times where I’m not supposed to. Now my mind is damaged and everything I see is turned into a dirty thing that I can’t erase from my mind. I just want to be normal again because there is the devil telling me things and showing me things that don’t fall in line with the Lord and with the help of God, my Lord and Savior, I’m hoping this will go away and I’ll be able to do the normal activities I used to do. I just wanna feel okay again because there were times where I had suicidal thoughts but I’m too scared to die so I’ll never do that. I just want it all to go away so I’ll keep praying and looking up to you God, because I worship and love you so much. And with you, I know I’ll be okay. I also hope everyone else out there finds hope and happiness through God as well, we aren’t meant to be perfect and with God, you can turn your life around. 💜💜💜

None of the righteous things that person has done will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness they are guilty of and because of the sins they have committed, they will die. Context, context, context. What the Old Testament book of Ezekiel is referring to, is that the Israelites did nothing but sin & they refused to listen to what God had to say on the matter. Israel kept wanting to sin & worship idols that were not the Lord, to name a few of the detestable acts they’ve done. The straw that broke the camel’s back was when they outright said they didn’t care what God had to say because they were already worshipping their false gods anyway, hence why God stepped in so He can command King Nebuchadnezzar to topple Israel & Jerusalem, and thus throwing the Israelites into captivity. Now, all this is before Jesus Christ even came into existence; the blood of goats & bulls from the Old Covenant of God could not satisfy the full propitiation of sin. The New Covenant of Jesus Christ, on the other hand, offered up a new plan of action: Remember Me as Lord & Saviour, take of my blood & body, and you will not die. And fret not, for I have not only overcome the world, but also paid the full price for your sins with My blood. This does NOT grant you a free pass to sin whenever you feel like it, but just know that you shouldn’t beat yourself up over it just because you sin, intentionally or no. Just means that you have to be better than this, and that Christ died so that you will live. You cannot sin intentionally, you cannot sin unintentionally, but it is also hard to get out of your sins unless you do both of the following: Say you’re sorry & ask for forgiveness, and ask for repentance.

  • @yestothetruth

@@AlastorAltruistGaming The response when God says to repent is to repent. You can't ask for repentance when God says to repent. If you have understood God's command then you will obey Him. So, you cannot be asking for repentance and waiting on God while God is already waiting on you. Please humble yourself and study what repentance is about because saying you are sorry and asking for forgiveness, if that results in keeping on repeating the same sin like this video is talking about, that's not repentance. And without that there is no salvation to speak of, just ongoing bondage to sin. According to you Jesus says this: *"fret not, for I have not only overcome the world, but also paid the full price for your sins with My blood."* Why do you need to follow that with a word of caution? *"This does NOT grant you a free pass to sin whenever you feel like it"* Could it be that due to false teachings people understand that because Jesus has paid the full price for their sins, sinning is no longer a big deal, like sin no longer leads to death like Romans 6:23 or James 1:15 say? And you continue: *"but just know that you shouldn’t beat yourself up over it just because you sin, intentionally or no. Just means that you have to be better than this, and that Christ died so that you will live. You cannot sin intentionally, you cannot sin unintentionally, but it is also hard to get out of your sins unless you do both of the following: Say you’re sorry & ask for forgiveness, and ask for repentance."* When sinners repent like the Bible says, they will receive freedom from sin because they have obey his word (John 8:31-36). It's not hard for Him to save sinner from their sins (Matthew 1:21). That is his mission. He is the Savior of the world (John 3:16). If you are making Jesus say what you want him to say, then it's automatically not the Jesus of the Bible that you are talking about anymore. It's an idol that you have created in your mind. What you have said does not line up with the words of Jesus, the Son of God. Sin is disobedience and salvation is for those who obey Jesus: Hebrews 5:9 And having been made perfect, He [Jesus] became the author of eternal *salvation to all those who obey Him* Repentance gets you on the same page with Jesus about what place (if any) that sinning is supposed to have in your life if you are his follower. 1 John 2:3-4 3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 1 John 3:6 Whoever abides in Him [Jesus] *does not sin.* Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.

@@IWasGivenRest I - Yes, Isaiah 55:6-7 is talking about the square one of repentance for someone who is unsaved, or, for a backslidden person, it is speaking about the same square one of repentance that person is called to return to. In Revelation 2 and 3 you see Jesus calling backslidden people who had been once saved to repent or else they will ultimately lose their place in Him (He said that in 5 different ways). If you read Jesus' mention of repentance in Matthew 12:41, that will send you to an actual example of what God expects in Jonah 3:10. God sent the prophet Jonah to call the city of Nineveh to repent. They turned away from their abominations and Jesus took them as an example of repentance for this generation: Matthew 12:41 The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here. Jonah 3:10 Then God saw their works, that *they turned from their evil way;* and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it. Imagine if they had an idea that they could struggle with their sins/abominations and not come clean with God. Their city would have been turned to ashes like Sodom and Gomorrah. In 1 Corinthians 10:5-13 and Jude 1:5-7, we are reminded of these things that happened to rebellious people so we don't repeat their error. The very idea of struggling with sin can only exist alongside other false beliefs, and in particular, what the grace of God is about. Let's see a couple of scriptures: Romans 6:14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. _Someone who is struggling with sin is under the power of sin. That person is trapped in sin, not free from sin and overcoming sin (Romans 6:7, 18; John 8:34-36)._ Titus 2:11-14 11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people, 12 *instructing us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly desires, and to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age;* 13 looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ; 14 who gave himself for us, that he might *redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.* _You need to see the grace of God as the scriptures speak about it. You cannot rely on what is commonly taught without being diligent to find if the scriptures are teaching the same thing._ If the grace of God instructs you to say 'No' to sin, then that part is up to you, and that is why the grace of God can be received in vain by someone who does not use it for what it's given for (e.g. 2 Corinthians 6:1). No one in Christ is lacking anything to say 'No' when temptations to sin come (James 1:12-15, 1 Corinthians 10:13). Now, you will see how one lie always has other lies working with it. So, when you are sure that you have recognized that something you have believed was a lie, you need humility and God will guide you to all truth. No need to even be able to read a Bible, but only having a love of the truth is necessary (2 Thessalonians 2:10), and Jesus will meet a person who is willing to reject a lie in order to stand in the truth and the light. Jesus spoke like this to his disciples: Matthew 5:14-16 14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. It is not possible to be a disciple of Jesus (which we are called to be) and be walking in darkness: 1 John 1:5-7 5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. Struggling with sin is walking in darkness. Think about it. Do you have the same readiness to confess "I am struggling with this or that sin" as to confess "I have fellowship with Jesus whose blood has cleansed me from all sin? And if you think both confessions can go hand in hand, I will ask you to examine that more carefully. I advise you to not get comfortable with this modern idea of struggling with sin. Romans 7 is not talking about a saved/born again Christian struggling with sin. The bottom line is that if you know right from wrong and keep on making the choice to do wrong, you need to see that you are struggling with obeying God. And ask yourself why that is. Jesus said, "If you love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15). Jesus will lead no one who is following Him into sin, so sinning comes from not following/obeying Jesus, that is, not heeding this word: Luke 9:23 And he [Jesus] said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." To keep my response more manageable, I will answer to you on Romans 7 and sinless perfection in two other comments following this one. Peace to you!

@@IWasGivenRest II - Please see that Romans 7:14-25 is describing a man in his struggles under the Law (of Moses) and not a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). In other words, it's not Paul the apostle, who then certainly had been born again, and was "under grace" who was struggling in Romans 7 to not do wrong when he wanted to do right. I'll share with you three remarks on that: 1) In Romans 7:14 the apostle Paul said he was "carnal, sold as a slave to sin." Compare that to John 8:34-36 and you see that this man struggling in Romans 7 was not in Christ, saved or set free by the Son yet. He was looking for a deliverance. 2) In Romans 8:1-2, he tells us how he found his deliverance: 1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 *For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.* Romans 8:2 is the exact opposite of the situation in Romans 7:23, where this was said: But I see another law at work in my body, warring against the law of my mind and *holding me captive to the law of sin that dwells within me.* It's captivity VS freedom. Being without Jesus VS Having Jesus and being in Jesus. 3) If it were "apostle Paul" as a born again Christian certainly who was struggling to keep himself from doing evil when he wanted to do good, then he would be in contradiction to what he had just taught the Roman believers in all of Romans 6, for instance: Romans 6:12-14 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 Neither present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For *sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under the law, but under grace.* The apostle Paul who also said, "Imitate me as I imitate Christ" (1 Corinthians 11:1), would be a hypocrite to convey the message that going on sinning or struggling with sin and being defeated by sin is the gift of God that people who turn to Jesus find. Certainly, that would not come from following Jesus' example, because He did not sin and lived to be an example to those who would be his disciples (1 Peter 2:21-24). And followers of Jesus become overcomers of sin. 1 Peter 2:21-24 21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for you, *leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps,* 2 who “committed no sin, nor was deceit found in his mouth.” 23 Who, when he was cursed, did not curse back. When he suffered, did not threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously; 24 who his own self bore our sins in his body on the tree, *that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness;* by whose wounds you were healed.

I may be a little late. Praying for you! I also struggle with mental health! Get help if you can. From a pastor, Christian counselor, etc. Sometimes with mental health issues you need someone wiser and mature in Christ to help you along the way. Don’t give up!

I suppose we're plenty familiar with this phrase, but it bears repeating: Insanity is doing the same thing over-and-over in the expectation of a different result.

how does it relate to a sin? as I presume the phrase is meant for somebody who expects a positive result; as for sinning there is no good ending or any positive outcome to be expected.
