Why do I get deep groin pain with numbness when I stretch my adductors? [Part 1 of… we’ll see]

Спорт

[Possible case study for a patient - Video #1] Today in the physical therapy clinic I worked with a soccer athlete who experiences a sharp pain in the hip/groin when performing a kneeling adductor stretch, followed by a sensation of numbness that extends down the leg.
We’ve already discovered high tone (aka tightness or tension) in the psoas major of the opposite (right) side that is tied to his chief complaint of low back pain, because we know that the top of the psoas attaches to the front of your lumbar spine. AND that right psoas is responsive to a neurological release technique to calm the symptoms.
Could the same tension on the LEFT side be causing this deep groin pain with numbness? Let’s find out. Here’s the video I just made for the athlete to review and perform an independent experiment to see if there’s a correlation.
EXPERIMENT STEPS: (1) pre-test the stretch that causes the pain and numbness ... (2) self-treat using the psoas release technique as prescribed ... (3) post-test the same stretch and compare to the pre-test ... (4) report back to me with the results.
