Why Didn't I Try This Recipe Before 😍 Amazing Turkish Kayseri Yaglama!

Are you looking for an easy recipe to serve as a feast to your family and friends? I have an amazingly delicious recipe from Turkish cuisine for you. A traditional dish from the central Anatolian city of Turkey Kayseri. We will be making "Kayseri Yağlama" or "Şebit"
It has a minced meat sauce with tomatoes and peppers layered with homemade tortillas like flatbreads. You serve it with garlic yogurt sauce. It is so delicious that it can bring everyone in the family to the table.

Ingredients For The "Kayseri yağlaması" Şebit: (For 4-6 people)
For the flatbreads (yufka) about 15 28cm flatbreads (I used 8-10 pieces only)
1/2 cup lukewarm milk
1 cup lukewarm water
20gr. fresh yeast or 1 tbsp dry yeast
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
about 4+1/2 cup flour (add gradually after 4 cups)
more flour to roll out the dough
rolling pin
nonstick or cast iron pan
For the minced meat tomato sauce:
4 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter (I didn't use but it is better to make the sauce with fat to damp the flatbreads with it)
250gr-300gr. ground minced meat
1 medium-size onion and tomato
3-4 medium-size green peppers
1 red pepper
1 tsp heaped tomato paste
1 tsp heaped red pepper paste
1 tsp each or to taste salt, red pepper flakes, black pepper
1 tsp cumin (optional)
about 1 cup hot water (the sauce should have a thick juice but not very runny)

As always a nice dish! That's why thumbs up. I also thought it was very good that you mentioned that the sauce is too liquid. Many bloggers wouldn't do that. But I will not cook this dish. It's certainly delicious. But my wife and I, we are both old people and we have dinner for 3 days.

The sauce should be spreaded as such that it should cover the edges to prevent hardening.
Mashallah ....looks yummy i definitely try out in few upcoming days....sister In india we made regular flatbread we say roti...😃I suggest you to please try indian dishes I dam sure you like it....love from delhi india..

@@TFT honestly, I’m not sure because I buy them from a keto grocery store near me. The owners are chefs who used to own a restaurant so they make low carb or zero carb alternatives. I think maybe they’re using lupin flour?

Flat bread Yufka,in India we call Fulka . This dough is prepared with wheat flour without yeast. Only way of serving is different. Thanks 👍

it may not work with yufka since it's quite thinner then this home made lavash

Yufka sheets are precooked but halfway. And thin as istanbullu gelin said. Best is to do at home😊
