I feel like good interviewers can usually hide their contempt a little better than this. Asking tough questions without an accusatory tone can make them tougher. But when the interviewer gets a little wound up and the interviewee is calm as can be, credibility can become shaky. And whatever you may think of Gerry, you ought to know he's much too slick for that, and has been spending the last half century fielding questions like this.

If he was IRA or not is unimportant, however i do believe he had the ear of the IRA and was a steadying factor in controlling them to some degree. But now after having been to Northern Ireland and have friends there on both divides , I now believe that these men and women ! Fought for catholics who couldn’t get houses jobs basically they were treated as second class citizens, they were having there houses ransacked by army and police and there is always two sides to any situation! Lots of atrocities have been committed by all sides ! And depending on where your moral compass is the IRA were either terrorists or freedom fighters! Because the protestants there, needed no protection from the catholics. The British Army was sent in to protect catholics from sadistic loyalist death squads.Think about that. You people want to start the clock at when the IRA fought BACK,and ignore the murder and mayhem that caused it. No,Queen Elizabeth has the most blood on her hands. She was/is the commander in chief of the British Army, who colluded with loyalists to murder catholics, unimpeded for decades, before Adams was even near the IRA. God,imagine if France invades and occupy's your country, murders and maims English people for 50 years, takes away democracy and rights to a trial, join the police etc...what would you do? Sit idle? Or pick up arms to defend your people? Fuck sake,I wouldn't call any Englishman a terrorist for defending his own people,in his own country, yet when English people do the above, suddenly the natives are terrorists for fighting back.

And as a keen observer of body language, I think it is very obvious that he is telling the truth. Why is it so hard to understand that the IRA might have respected him big time and listened to his advice, whitout him being a member? Why is so hard for some accept that it is very possible to be a Republican, defend IRA's war against the Brittish Army, but condemn IRA's killing of innocent? Adams & McGuiness are/were both crypto-jews. Neither of them have expressed the least concern with significant numbers of non-whites entering Ireland against the wishes of the indigenous people. They harp on British power over Ireland, but the British whites have a hell of a lot more in common with the indigenous Irish than do Somalian Muslims.

To witness men and women that were willing to die and more than often did for the freedom of their people… not for money , status , or anything material. Just to be free on their own land . That’s something different ☘️
