Why Did We Quit Travel Vlogging

Why We Stopped Being Travel Vloggers
If you’re struggling, consider therapy with BetterHelp #ad. Click betterhelp.com/jayandalina for a 10% discount on your first month of therapy with a credentialed professional specific to your needs. In this video, we're shedding light on the realities that often stay hidden behind the picture-perfect vistas of travel vlogging. If you're considering stepping into the world of travel vlogging or you're just curious about why we chose to step back, this video is for you. We believe it's important to share both sides of the story and bring to light the struggles that accompany the glamour of this lifestyle.
We were once a couple on a never-ending journey, exploring the world and sharing our adventures with our amazing KZread community. But what seemed like an idyllic lifestyle eventually became a 24/7 commitment that affected our relationships, work-life balance, and overall wellbeing.
You might wonder, why would we give up a life filled with travel and adventure? We've realized that life isn't just about breathtaking landscapes, new food experiences, or ticking off destinations from a bucket list. It's about building deeper connections with people, having a stable routine for health and fitness, and most importantly, having time for ourselves.
Our journey as travel vloggers was both thrilling and taxing. Constantly on the move, we were living out of a suitcase. Filming, editing, and posting videos, while trying to enjoy the places we visited, often left us overwhelmed and numb to our experiences.
In this video, we discuss the challenges of a vlogger's life - a life where work doesn't stop at 5 pm. We talk about how the continuous hustle started taking a toll on our mental and physical health and how the transient relationships we made along the way left us missing our friends and family.
In the end, it's all about balance. We might have stopped being full-time travel vloggers, but that doesn't mean we've stopped exploring altogether. We're on a new journey now, one where we can truly appreciate our experiences without the constant pressures and deadlines.

I was wondering what had happened to your channel, and came across this update. I'm 51 and can't wait to pack up and head away. Spent 24 to 34 in the Army in 7 or 8 different countries, having already spent the first 24 years as an Army brat living in about 10 different places (add on another 5 other places if you include going away for College and University), in 4 different countries. Everybody is different of course, but missing the odd birthday here and there is nothing compared to creating memories and experiences in far off places and having a better quality of life. I'll be very happy when I pack up and head off once more. Wishing you both well, and that your lives are better for the decisions you have made.

A lot of what you said resonates with us. We didn't realise how much effort goes into editing and video creation until we started doing it ourselves. It's easy to slip into travel fatigue after seeing so many amazing places. We do find slowing down the travel helps with savouring and appreciating the experiences.

Great videos Jay and Alina. Take a break and continue after refresh. Work does have 'burn out kind of effect. Especially so after long period doing the same things. Even machines need a rest period after running non stop ya.

So nice to see guys again in front of the camera. We appreciate your sincerity and honesty. We have to create balance in your life. Have a safe place you can go to decompress. As you get older , you tend to reflect on your experiences, on what works and what doesn't. Harriet and i keep it real. Maintaining healthy relationships with family, friends and colleagues is very important. Isolating is never good. Wishing you guys the best in your future endeavors. Sending much love and affection ❤❤ Harriet, Jim and Yuki Richmond, Va.

great video. I am planning to go on the road for 3-4 years solo and I just turned 50 and retired. It's going to be challenging but I think 3-4 years is probably the max I could manage this lifestyle for the reasons you mentioned. But if you really want to see the world - well, there is no alternative actually :) Sure, I could sit home and then travel a few times a year and a few weeks at a time, but realistically how much am I going to see doing it that way? Probably not much. So yeah, each situation has it's pros and cons. My take on this is that if you can do it at least once in your life then it would be an amazing life experience and you have your whole rest of your life to build and rebuild relationships.

Thank you for sharing guys🤗 Very honest and I also understand points you are talking about as I am living abroad for over 10 years. Lovely to see you back on youtube. I really enjoy your vlogs. Great to see Alina as well. I wish you could share a bit more how to start a youtube channel and how would you recommend to edit vlogs at the beginning. Anyway you guys are such a good youtube company that even simple everyday vlogs on your channel are really enjoyable to watch. Take care!!

I enjoyed watching you guys but this video is rediculous. You attempted living the dream but it didn’t quite work out. Remember, your complaints are being head and watched by a lot of people who will never get the opportunity to do what you guys have done. Wish you both well but seems like you need to experience the real world for a little while.
