Today we're gonna be taking a look at something I didn't believe existed until I payed $9.99 for it on Amazon, The Spirit Halloween movie. Yep that Halloween store made an awful movie... for some reason. But it's perfect, at least for what I do over here. Anyways sit back and enjoy what I can only imagine will become a Halloween Classic.

I applied to work at Halloween store once. Was told I would be part of the set up crew and the store would keep the best workers to help run the store. First 2 days I showed up and didn't do much of anything, we hung a shelf or two but everyone mostly stood around. On the 3rd day, I walked in and saw someone I haven't met yet. Was asked who I was, after telling him.. I was dropped with "the person who hired you and this crew doesn't actually work here, we do not know who he is." Apparently the owners of the store are from out of state, left for a week to handle some business, came back and noticed the door was open. Guy who hired everyone had been sleeping there. The owners didn't plan on hiring or anything until the week after. I wonder what ever happened to the guy who hired me. He seemed so well put together.

I’m kind of impressed that this movie held back on the kiss between the main protagonist and his love interest that he’s had little to no time to develop a relationship with. That seems like the only cliche it didn’t lean into.

This movie was filmed in my hometown apparently! I saw the Toys r Us and then the theater and I was like oh crap that's where I grew up 🤣 Fun fact: the "Chernobyl" building by the Halloween store used to be a dope indoor paintball park

"and that kid is 7!" Had absolutely no right slaying me the way it did 😭
I actually worked in a Spirit within the last 5 years and can assure you that they actually do use alarms, even in buildings they've never used before. These kids wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes without setting it off.
As an exemployee of spirit halloween, no I never checked the store. I made an announcement and left. Was I responsible? No. Was I a stoned highschooler left alone everyday? Yup.
The funniest thing is that there's a former Toys R Us near me turned Spirit Halloween next to a Chinese buffet 🤣

As a Floridian for 21 out of my almost 35 years of life, I am begging you to not do that you know not what danger you are in entering a Floridian Walmart if you must do this, do this, while donning a knight’s helmet a captain America shield, and a Batman costume (movie, accurate, of course) all while brandishing at least four cheap gas station bottles of MD 2020. You should be safe then and fit right in. The consumers will be none the wiser that you are filming a film.

There's no better way to find out about a movie than watching Chris make fun of it 😂
Okay I know this movie is bad and all, but main character guys delivery at 5:15 got a good laugh out of me. Whether that laugh was supposed to be intentional or not is up for debate, but the way he said such a stupid line so matter-of-factly just sells it.
Thank God you were able to get a Spike TV doctor to explain what was going on.
"I got up to take a piss and didn't pause it but, can you blame me?" And this is why i subbed. 😂
The weird ass grandma just evaporating from a ritual leaving the child without a guardian was much more funny to me than it should have been. Partially because of Chris’s reaction but still got me good lol

The most realistic part of this movie is that kid being very open about how he doesn't want people to call his step father his dad but everyone doing it anyway💀
the Spirit Halloween and Mandarin parking lot combo is DEADLY
Better ending: kid sacrifices his dads picture and his dads spirit appears and fights the bad spirit. Then has a cringe cliche moment with his son. Then convinced his son to be ok with the stepdad. Then poofs and appears in front of the step dad, shoves the lights in his hands, and says “put the ducking lights up…and thank you for watching over my Christmas wife (que the Santa ho ho ho for double irony) and my wonderful son”. Then cut to the boy helping his new little sister scene and camera slowly pans out revealing the entire neighborhood and across the street you see ghost dad peeping in the window of the neighbors to add a context of dad being a weirdo that way you subconsciously end the movie liking the new stepdad.
Rachel Leigh Cook went from starring in “She’s All That” to this movie. Oof.

Josie and the Pussycats is a goddamn masterpiece as well!
Lmao the stunt doubles for stranger things, so damn true
I watched it and the first thing that threw me off was the line "is he ok with you calling him frank?" Because most step parents let the step kid call them by their name it's a super common thing
You're a master editor, I gotta admit that fart scene had me dying.
It was kinda funny seeing the kids walking around after close, there aren't really many places to hide and we had to scour every last inch of the store for remaining customers
Was in a Spirit Halloween yesterday and saw signs advertising this movie. I was hoping you would cover it so I wouldn't have to watch it.
"We see where most of the budget went to for this movie" haha so true. He easily cost 75k of the 100k that went into this movie.

Rachel Leigh Cook too! I wish she got better roles these days, she deserves it after the masterpiece that is Josie and the Pussycats
The romantic interest in this movie reminds me of my high school gf, that doesn't mean much but it was a weird experience and i want someone else to be bothered by it
My local abandoned Kmart did not become a Spirit this year. Probably because they spent too much on getting Christopher Lloyd.
The lighting is honestly the most unsettling part of this film. It’s lit like a commercial, and even in the dark parts, it just looks like they turned down the brightness in post. No dynamic lighting/shadows at all. Also nearly every shot I’ve seen is a mid-shot at eye level. So visually uninteresting. Completely still camera as well. To say nothing of the special effects- I don’t think I need to. I get that it’s low-budget so I don’t mind that as much as I do the bad camerawork. The suspense was surprisingly decent for the first Ghost Decoration Possession. But after the that, it was ass. I guess they just gave up halfway through.
Dam, I binge watched all your content in a day. Now all I can do is wait for your new videos. Keep up the fantastic work! I love everything you do :)
Love your shit as usual. Thanks for giving me something to watch after 3 hours of trick or treating and making pizza and ya know whatever happy Halloween 🎃

Do you have kids or was it a dream date? Either way I'm jealous. LoL
I worked at goodwill for a few years and I can honestly say their manufactured costumes are better quality than anything at spirit Halloween and literally 10% of the price.
Spirit Halloween execs after seeing this review: we should open a location in Chernobyl.
I need more retail store movies: a Dollar General war movie, an Office Depot grand space opera, an Old Navy roadshow musical...
That little girl was like “Sorry your dad died of bone cancer, why didn’t he just drink milk every day like normal bodied people?” 😂
Really wish they had a big enough budget to make that Spirit store a portal to a Halloween world with some refugees from Toys 'R Us. That would probably be a more interesting movie, but licensing would probably be a nightmare.
That Chinese buffet joke needs more recognition
There's an episode of Gravity Falls that follows a very similar premise and flow. Cept that was 22 minutes and enjoyable.
I used to be the middle school kid that used to go to high school parties. My local neighbourhood friends all happen to be older than me and i went to a different school system. I'd go to their parties and lie about my age if anyone asked. Then when i tried to brag about that stuff at my actual school, nobody would believe me lol
Congrats on the 100k subs, can I say one thing! In your videos you sometimes mention another content creator making "the same video" and that's the reason you don't make one one on the topic, but here's the thing! I've just discovered your channel in the past week and I've also just discovered this type of content, so I say do it! Even if others have made one on the same topic! Here's to a million-billion subs! :) :)
I'm glad you watched this "movie?" So I don't have to but still get to laugh at how terrible it is. And you can't blame Mr. Christopher Lloyd for taking the part. He's getting up in age and this was probably the easiest paycheck he got in a while. What he was on set for a few hours tops, probably memorized the lines on way to set and, well we saw the extent of his stunts. I don't care who you are, Lloyd is a fucking legend!
Me and my wife love your content Chris and are watching some of your older videos. We just realized that this movie was filmed in our town. First noticed the theater then realized the abandoned Toys R Us is ours too, and they do use it as a Spirit Halloween every year. Lol.
The old Toys R Us/Spirit Halloween and the DeSoto is in Rome, GA. It really did used to be a Toys R Us and is used as a Spirit Halloween every year. We got my kid's costumes there this past Halloween. Fun Fact, Vecna's house from Stranger Things is also in Rome.
Always great content Chris! You’re always my go to after a long day! Thank you and happy Halloween!
Congrats on 100k!! I'm so happy people are finding your channel, you are so underrated. Here's to the next milestone!

So?... this is why I keep seeing spirit meme costume all over the place lol
I worked at Spirit when this movie was being produced and it was so heavily marketed to the staff. We literally had to read a pamphlet about it during our onboarding
@8:25 they did a long take to show off the costumes; after all, the movie is still an ad 🎃
Haha! Omg, this movie is on the same level of quality of a mid-tier 90's goosebumps episode
"and that kid is seven" - I'm dyin' 🤣
Your channel was recommended and this is the 3rd video I've watched and you sir are hilarious and now I really wanna see the movie haha but itll never compare to the hilarious commentary of this video. Great job subbed
Hilarious. Movie commentating could be cool content. With Christmas coming up, there me be one or two cheesy Christmas movies coming out? :P
landlords being cartoonishly evil is the most realistic part of this movie.

We expect it to be good since people got payed to make it and that's their profession. That's the problem i this country. Everyone sucks at their job now. Everywhere you go the quality and service sucks. And it's because of people like you that happily accept it and make excuses for it as the world turns to crap around us. If people would hold each other to high standards again and stop accepting failure we could make this country great again. Please grow a spine and join the rest of us in rejecting crappy subpar content. Sincerely -Someone who is sick to death of living on the same planet as people like you
