Mam i wish to do cfa ,but due to the upcoming technology these roles like financial analyst may get less opportunity right? Also i am afraid after spending this much money will i get a good salary or not and will there be much opportunity like CA for cfa students, also many are saying if you didn't clear in your first attempt in cfa its waste, why is that mam?

Hello, I understand your fears but honestly these are all just what “ifs”. There is no actual guarantee about any of it. Yes AI is coming up very fast and it’s affecting a lot of jobs but we forget that every job including of an analyst, or advisor requires Human touch which AI cannot do. AI can make our lives easier but not replace humans, at least in my opinion. CA and CFA are two different courses with different markets and a lot of opportunities. Without taking away anything from the prestige of CA but that’s only recognised in india while CFA is a globally recognised certificate…So both has its pros and cons. Lastly which attempt you pass in really does not matter, that’s just baseless rubbish spread by people. I understand before starting something we all get scared and that’s normal but pls don’t let your fears take over your dreams🙌🏻

I'm reaching out to you, Tanishka, even though your expertise lies specifically in CFA. My CA journey began in December 2022, but I didn't perform at my best, scoring 132 out of 200. Despite subsequent attempts and improved scores (180 in June 2023 and 190 in December 2023), I still haven't passed due to health issues and lack of discipline. I'm now uncertain whether to continue with CA, pursue CFA, or explore other options. Since you have experience with CFA, I'm seeking your advice on the best path forward.

Hello, First of all whatever said and done I really have to applaud you for having the guts to give that exam thrice, not clear and still not give up completely…I don’t think a lot of people have that in them so kudos for that 🙌🏻 The final call of what has to be done is definitely yours but I’ll say that don’t take a decision to do CFA or something else just because you are not able to clear CA. The reasons ai say this is because:- 1. No guarantee you’ll clear CFA, that’s not easy either and requires a lot of deduction 2. If you do it just aimlessly you’ll not really know what to do after and that will drive you more nuts. I would really recommend take a few days off from literally everything, do things that you like and just let your mind clear out. Then take a paper and write your strengths and weaknesses as well as liked and dislikes… Keeping all those points in mind give yourself 4 career options in finance or outside and then research on those options and eventually try out what’s most feasible. Is this a guarantee solution? Not at all…We all are doing trial and error but make sure it’s closest to being honest with ourselves.

Hello Akhil, Make sure you’re soft skills are also great and try to show that in the CV as well (good communication, team player etc) can be added in the skills but will need back up to be explained in person…So make sure through your college you find these instances. Technically you are already strong if you’re doing CFA with college, what would be even great is if you manage to also be active in your college activities and include that in your CV. Also learning python, or any such coding languages if possible is also a boon.

Will I be able to focus on both cfa and my clg bcoz cgpa to me is also very important . The basic knowledge I have abt this course is this requires course requires understanding and not too much to deal with numbers like calculation like accounts. I ve checked the pass percent for cfa which is higher than ca and cma whats ur opinion abt the course give me something helpful

Hello, I am so happy to see you take a step forward from a course that you realised was not meant for you, not everyone takes that decision so easily so kudos to you 🙌🏻 With regards to managing CFA and college, it honestly boils down to your time management skills and priorities. BCom in general is not very demanding so if you are good at managing time then you can definitely do both seamless but of course that comes at the cost of sacrificing college events etc. So the final call is yours, either way it’s going to be the right decision provided you are honest with yourself.

Hi Tisha, The plan definitely is possible and you can go ahead with it. However I would personally suggest don’t go for a course that you only want to cover half way, instead do the course that you currently feel more intuitive towards and finish it. Unless really needed it’s best to finish things than leaving it midway, because that truly becomes a reason for regret later.

Hello, To answer your questions: -yes you can do CFA from either BCom and BMS (any graduation is okay even non commerce). - yes you can have MBA and Government exams as a backup if you feel the need for it. Other than that I would say just relax because pretty much everyone your age and to be honest even after are actually unsure of what they want in life and trial and error (which you already plan to do) is actually the best way to find your fit ☺️ Wish you all the best 🙌🏻

What will make more sense is keeping your existing schedule in mind make realistic daily goals and focus to achieve that…Roughly in 6-8 months you should be ready for the exam.

Hello Ushma Ji, I am sorry to hear that and I can completely understand what both he and you are going through at the moment. If he should re-give the exam or no depends on:- 1. If he is very passionate about it and his last score was not too far away from the minimum passing score - definitely go ahead and give another shot. 2. If he is very passionate about it but scored very low in the last attempt- maybe one more try so he does not regret not giving it another try but go with the mindset that he will accept whatever happens thereafter. 2. If he is not too passionate about it but scored very close to the minimum passing score - Can give one more shot for sure 3. If he is not very passionate about it and has scored very low - pls leave it as this will just take forever to get done with and will just drain his energy. P.s. if you decide to go ahead, it might be beneficial to take a small break, clear your mind then proceed…Don’t jump for the earliest possible attempt. P.s. of you decide to let go, pls don’t feel bad about it…Millions of us chose a career thinking it’s the best for us and realise later we are meant for something else and that might be the best thing for us.

See to be honest you will never know if you’re actually interested or not till you try it…There is no other way for this and that is a sad fact. I would suggest to save yourself from paying so much without being sure, incest first in a class and schweser books…Study a little see what exactly is being taught (cuz many time we feel the course is something but nikalta kuch aur hai). After this you take the decision if you want to go ahead or not. Anyway you have time since you have just done your 12th so use it wisely. With regards to the math point I have made a detailed video sharing it for here for your reference 👇🏻 kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y3p_paN9odTJf5c.htmlsi=JSaQuPG75iIlZK4Q

Hello, You can go for more business oriented courses like BMS or BBA instead of a plain BCOM. If you like accounting then you can do account majors like BAF too. Not sure if which courses will these colleges have but from a DU perspective suggesting names that are good for commerce overall:- SRCC KM The Hindu Daulatram

Hi Varsha, Around 1lakh per level and per attempt. So roughly 3-3.5 lakhs if you pass all levels in one go and pay the early bird. Can go up depending on missing payment deadlines or failing a level. Coaching is not necessary, it’s a personal choice.

Hi Soleha, Don’t be scared to do CFA because your marks in BCom were not good. There could have been multiple reasons for that. If you are interested in this field then I suggest before you invest directly for the exam first invest in a class…Spend some time (say 1-2 months) see are you actually liking what this course is, are you able to understand the concepts logically…if yes then I don’t see any reason for you to not go ahead. If no, then too you will never have a doubt because you made an informed choice.

Hello, Glad you liked the video🙏🏻 None of the approaches are wrong to be honest but I’ll tell you what I would personally do and I think that may help you get a perspective. I believe the whole point of doing an MBA is to experience every single thing by being fully attentive (events, projects, assignments, everything ). If this is not done then even an MBA from a top college is a waste. Having said this it can be difficult to manage CFA amidst all of this if someone is not brilliant at multitasking. If your son is great at it then MBA with CFA is good else it would be more beneficial to do one thing at a time (in this case first CFA, some work experience and then MBA is a good combo)

Having said that the best way to go about this would be to first study (enrol in a class if possible) spend a few months, see the commitment needed and also if you’re liking the direction of what’s being taught. Yes this will also be an investment but just in case you don’t seem to like it, it will save you from a much bigger investment

So only if you want to actually get into M&A, portfolio management, investment banking, etc…Then doing CFA will make sense for sure. Else if it’s just to get another degree in hand then no.

Hello Ankur, Yes you definitely can switch the fields and can also appear for the CFA exams. It actually won’t cuz it will add a certain sense of diversity. For eg: an investor who knows finance plus engineering will be a better advisor/consultant for people interested in investing in say infrastructure related segments (very basic example but that’s how you need to think of it) Also how you present yourself will make the most difference, so as long you explain your switch nicely it’s not going to be a glitch.

Hi Devanshi, Glad you appreciated the video☺️ Theoretically put, investment banking is a financial service offered to MNC’s to help them in their investment plans. In reality however though true, the roles vary largely depending on the company…It’s not always the client facing roles we expect it to be. I can understand you being skeptical about it (believe me even people in their 30’s are unsure to take a career decision at times). What I always say is walk on the path that at this moment seems the best or the one that excites you as of now then during the journey is when you decide if the Decision was right or wrong. I know it sounds philosophical but trust me almost all of us are doing trial and error and that actually is the best method to select a career.

And how many weeks it may take from Feb 2024?

Hi Shaurya, Sorry for missing this reply… Yes the fees is a lot and I understand it’s a burden for almost all of us. The scholarship results takes around 2 months roughly can be a week here and there. Chances are honestly 50-50 there is no guarantee at all.

Hey, I am so sorry to hear that and can genuinely relate to how you’re feeling. In my opinion and experience the reason why people are failing L3 is because we are trying to use the same strategy as L1 and L2, which is not how things work. The whole point of L3 is to bind what we have learned in the past in a way that we also are analytical enough to actually know every concept so well that even though it’s asked in a way we have never seen before, with a million tricky points involved, we will be able to catch it. Do not practise with the point that similar questions or patterns will be asked, practise in a way to sharpen your mind that no matter how they twist this (which they will) we will figure it out…This is honestly is the hardest part of L3, because the syllabus is actually easier than L2…It’s the subjectivity of the answers that makes it hard! So keep practising and keep focusing that you have gotten to the depth of every concept. P.S. as a personal suggestion, if you do have the bandwidth and only if it’s feasible for you I would recommend giving one more shot (whenever you can). The value won’t decrease because nobody cares in which attempt did you pass the exam. For me personally, I would have given it another shot just to not let it be incomplete because of a failure.

Hello, That’s a great decision…For a start I would suggest a few things:- 1. Know what CFA actually is going to teach you, roughly how long it will take you & how much it will cost you 2. Once you done with step one and like what you saw then I suggest you first get find a teacher if possible (specially adding this since you are from a non finance background). 3. Take a few classes, spend at least 1-2 months, see are you liking it and are resonating with it…Only then should you consider to then register. This is my opinion as I feel it’s better to first invest a small amount (in class) actually understand what the course is (cause many times is different from what we think) then decide to invest your time and money.

In today’s work you can up too 3-5 lakhs after finishing level 1 as a fresher and can get up to 9 lakhs per anam after doing level 3. P.s. these are just estimates, the company, role, personal soft skills & location can make these figures go up and down. I would say 6-8 months per level is good but if you’re a slow learner then even taking 10 months is okay. Hard and easy changes for everyone, generally content wise level 2 is heavy but I feel overall level 1 is harder because it’s like a new thing for us at that stage.

See how interested you really are in spending a good amount of your next two/3 years studying and learning this and only then decide….
