COULD THIS HAVE ALL BEEN A DREAM & PERHAPS "THE TOUCH" WAS HIM WRESTLING HIMSELF IN HIS DREAM & HIM POPPING HIS OWN HIP OUT OF JOINT WHILE FLAILING AROUND IN HIS SLEEP, LEAVING HIM WITH A "THORN IN HIS SIDE" LITERALLY & SINCE IT ALL HAPPENED IN HIS CONSCIENCE HE NAMED THE PLACE PINEAL? STILL TRUE TO THE FACT, THAT, ALL THE WHILE, IT WAS GOD SENDING HIM THE MESSAGE THROUGH A DREAM OR VISION & TELLING HIM TO CHANGE HIS NAME ALONG WITH ALL THE OTHER BLESSINGS HE BESTOWED UPON HIM?

Prayer is so important. God is the only one who can give us a better understanding of His Word. He does this through His Spirit who will guide us into all truth. So we need to ask for that. Then consistently spend time with the Word and read it very attentively as a unified story that leads to Jesus. Note the repetitions, ponder the connections, think about how the text reveals Jesus and the theme of salvation. Keep doing that and you will gain a deeper understanding of the Bible. Blessings!

Thanks a lot. Almighty God bless you. Genesis 32: 22- 32. Jacob beat the god of Bible the next morning. How can possible a man beat the god of Bible. The second question God knows the name of all stars one by one and does know the name of Jacob. The third question is your Bible says no one saw god. Therefore, Bible is a book of lies and contradictions. Christians scholars say Bible had 50.000 lies, contradictions and funy jokes, like what is your name? God of 10 commandments knows the name of every person one by one.

Well....in addition to changing his name, one thing coming out the gate you need to understand about all Heavenly Father "he always asks a question first".. giving one an opportunity for honesty, to be truthful, now.. do y'all believe for a second.. God didn't know Jacob's name.. "of course he did", going back in the garden, the first thing he asked Adam when Adam hid himself from God, "who told you you was naked".. question, now, you think God didn't know what had transpired.. of course he did, it's to give man the opportunity to be truthful with him, over and over and over again you see this in God's word, he'll always ask the question first, giving one the opportunity for honesty.. this is why he asked him his name, "God is always Fair"...check it out for yourself, how precious he is, I love him for that, "I just do" 🙏💯

I've recently started educating myself on the idea of God. I'm a self proclaimed Atheist, however since a young age I have always been surrounded by the idea of religion. My grandfather was a Jehovah Witness and I attended Church of England schools both as a child and a teenager. I have never frequented a church,, however sometimes I enter them to indulge my curiosity. For me as someone who is trying to grasp the concept of what make a god, well a god; I have no understanding of what faith is. How is a faith in god any different to the faith I place in people. Jacob a man who has lived through hardship, in the face of certain danger, makes the decision to send his family and acquaintances across the river, as his brother marches towards him, with 400 Men. Jacob dreams he wrestles with an angel, which turns out to be God. God names him Israel, meaning those who wrestle with god, and this is possibly one of the first passages in the bible that has truly resonated with me. My concept of the story, is that everyone in times of hardship, struggles with the idea of faith. Be that in God or circumstance. You wrestle with the idea of god. Why is it me that you unwittingly test? Why is it I must make these hard choices? Have you abandoned me? Will you help me? Will you guide me? All questions that in the face of god, are lost and unanswered. I find that I struggle with the Idea of god, not because I don't believe in his existence. God is an idea created by humans, so they can reconcile with the blessing that is free will. But because I find it hard to believe that there is one god. This is not the same god today that wrestled with Jacob. This god, although all powerful, knows not of Jacobs name. Which is contradicting. If he truly was the god of Jacobs forefathers, would God not already know Jacobs name? And if he was the god of today, he is all knowing, which would contradict him not knowing Jacobs name. Edit: having watched the video in full I have found a few of my questions answered to an extent. Thank you!!! These are my ramblings and they make no sense, but I like to type things down. Feel free to discuss with me any point I've raised or haven't raised. Thanks :)

  • @MasterpieceBible

Thanks for your question! It is impossible to see God except when he comes to us in human form. The Bible is clear that Jesus is God and just as clear that people saw him. Jacob explicitly says that he saw God and the story only makes sense if it was God because only God could provide the blessing Jacob longed for. Like many other interpreters, I believe that Jacob wrestled with Jesus who came down and took on human form just like he did in the New Testament. This also fits with Jacob's experience of receiving a new identity: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come (2 Cor 5:17).

@@MasterpieceBible, great video, and any compliment from me is extremely difficult to acquire. The most interesting things in scripture tend to be the places that seem to conflict with other parts of scripture, such as God asking Jacob for his name when a “God” shouldn’t need it. For example, you claim, “It is impossible to see God except when he comes to us in human form” when actually the scriptures conflicts with that statement. Specifically, John 1:18, John 6:46, 1 John 4:12, 1 John 4:20, and 3 John 1:11. Yet, Jesus is God, and the scriptures state Adam saw God, as did Abraham, Moses, and many others, so the scripture is not in agreement, but I am telling you that it does not conflict, but one must learn this nuance to understand God. Maybe you would like me to email you.

No one can see God. God reveals Himself through dreams and visions only. The Bible clearly says Moses is the only exception. Therefore, Jacob did not wrestle with God. Jacob wrestled with an angel. Angel represented God but not God Himself. Jacob thought he wrestled with God. That was just his unilateral proclamation not confirmed by any other Bible verses. In Hosea 12:4, Jacob's opponent is described as "malakh", which means angel.

Jacob didn't "steal" ANYTHING. Esau "sold" his birthright. You have not done your due diligence.

It was an angel that Jacob wrestled with He wrestles with him for Gods favor False teachers use this text to prove God became a man but it was an angel Bible doesnt contradict Jehovah told moses no man can see me and live

Except that Jacob himself said it was God and that Hosea says it was God. And that this was not the only instance where God revealed himself as a man (e.g. Gen 18). What God is talking about in Exod 33 is that no man can see him in his glory and live. He is not talking about seeing him in human form. Otherwise everyone that met Jesus would have had to die.

@@MasterpieceBible u think almighty God the creator of the universe can become a man? This earth would not be able to handle his power We would vaporize if we got close to him Jacob wrested for Gods favor so he wrestle with the angel that came as Gods representative Hosea said he wrestled with an angel

Correct. Unless God in his great mercy accomodated in such a way that we could handle it. If he is truly almighty he should be able to do that, right? And the Bible testifies that he did indeed do it. According to John 1 Jesus (1) is God, (2) is the creator of everything and (3) became a man.

@@MasterpieceBible no that voids the meaning of almighty. If he lowers himself as a man then hes not almighty God Bible says Jehovah has a dwelling place in heaven. He doesn't move from his dwelling place When one becomes a man then hes no longer God Almighty God does not change If God dies or cease being God then we would not live . Everything would go boom We live cause Jehovah God lives

@@AstariahFox When you say that if God became man He would no longer be God is a false assumption. The devil is lying to you. Ask God to show you the truth. God so loved the world that He became the suffering servant, the only solution, the only way to solve our sin debt. What a unspeakable gift to us is Jesus, our Lord and Saviour. ❤️🙏🏼✝️🙏🏾

Genesis 32:22-33 This verses of Bible the greatest lie in the History of mankind. Jacob beat God. God doesn't know the name of Jacob. Bible says no one had seen god of Bible.
