Denmark and Sweden actually hold the record for most wars fought between 2 countries, so that kinda shows how big of a rivaly it is.

We have overcomed this, though. After loosing a bit too many wars, denmark stopped fighting sweden, and sweden wary of dangerous neighbours, stopped figthing denmark, and started fencing of against the other neighbours, especially russia and germany.

@@SimonRaahauge1973 You really like to simplify it a lot, but a lot of Denmark’s enemies got beaten by Danish allies, and in a few Dano-Sweden wars, Sweden took heavy casualties with Denmark losing a bit less than 20 men, just like when the Swedes tried to take the Capital of Denmark, and let’s not even get started with how their empire ended up after trying to win to Russia

@@AlxzAlec True, however, losses are not what determines who wins and loses - in that case the Soviet Union lost WW2. In the case of Danish-Swedish wars, there have been 11 wars (since the unification of Sweden in 1523 mind you), of which Sweden won 7. Counting further back before 1523 there were a lot of scuffles between the two in one form or other, ending with about equal number of victories.

Sweden as we know it today is actually a lot younger than both Norway and Denmark, by almost half a millennium. This is because Sweden is a consolidation of three much older realms, (using their Roman names here) Westrogothia, Ostrogothia and Swēonia, which before the consolidation into Sweden actually were independent Kingdoms. Today they are the provinces of Västergötland, Östergötland and Svealand. Later on Norrland (Laponia) and Österland (now Finland!) were added to Sweden. And of course we stole Scania from Denmark, but that was much more "recently", historically speaking.

@@fredmidtgaard5487 First of, had to "go through Sweden" Implies you traveled through it by land. Having a destination outside the country. Now that's interesting as there is realistically no such trips to take unless you are already living in the Nordics. Secondly the largest group of now considered "endemic Swedish people" actually have roots in ancient Turkey. Fleeing North after the collapse of the hittite empire. And later in two waves after the defeat against Mongol tribes that got chased out of Mongolia. Second wave when the Mongols who chased out the other mongols, later United under Djingis and invaded the Mongols in Turkey. A lot of Turks said no thanks to fighting on the losing side of the second Mongolian civil war, Anatolia edition. Following their previous expats to the Nordics. Today, Swedish people have on average a larger Hitite genetic component in comparison to anywhere else in the world. Including Turkey. Now to the conclusion, does that mean you where right? No. Since you clearly are referring to a more modern version of Turkey, when those people are more the descendant of the Ottomans. Who came from Mongolia. (Stopping by for a while in modern day Azerbadjan, armenia, Syria, and perhaps most importantly. The Persian empire!) With whom they had great relations and is also why they converted to Islam. After that they took over Persia after the Persians lost to some other dudes. And after they found themselves the inheritors of the Persian empire. They figured, why not the Roman empire as well. And so, much like a modern day attack helicopter. The self annointed army of Rome marched from Persia on the capital of Rome. Constantinople! Interesting how different groups of people have moved around the continent's for millennia, isn't it? Anyhow, the point being that I assume you ultimately where trying to make is very likely true. The Swedish meatball is most likely a dish the Turkish expats brought with them, known today as the Köfte. And for that reason it's no wonder you drew the parallels! They are indeed clear as day. I hope you don't mind me expanding upon your brilliant theory. It's indeed both exquisite and accurate!

He, my uncle lost control, and put a fist down the radio, which fizzled and sparked!! Then silence. My aunt,:" But dear Kai, our guest!" He, red in face went into the Kicthen for a drink....We, I ...my brother, hid behind my mother Giggling. Yeah, it´s like I have the right to make fun of my siblings, I could say quite cruel stuff about them, and vice versa, and we all laugh about it, but if somebody else would dare to say such things about them, I would be like "What did you just say!?". It´s like if I insult them it´s totally fine, but if somebody else insult them, they're insulting _us_ , the Scandinavian family as a whole.
