I think that the best thing that can be done right now is Man Utd to offer Ronaldo an extension contract of 1 year after the 2022/2023 season, however with reduced wage and Europa League trophy as a target for that season+qualification for UCL in the 2023/2024 season. If I were Ronaldo and I got offered this deal in Man Utd right now, I would accept it, as it appears no other club that gets to play UCL wants me. It's a different story, however, if Ronaldo deserves this offer because as soon as the team was sinking, he wanted to leave. In general, teams should be built around young prospective talents, not old self-centered UCL-wanting-to-play-crybabies. At this point, even if Ronaldo plays UCL, he wouldn't be winning it, that's just my opinion.

Sports is sports. CR7 is too old and too expensive now. He doesn't want to be a bench player like Ibrahimovic too. He doesn't want lower wages. He play for personal glory.
