Messi was taking all the highlights bc ofc he was the face of braca and neymar with the talent he had he needed to be a hero in his team, he got that in PSG shortly after that mbappe arrived and took it from him. Every good player always been a hero in his team but Neymar ever had that time.

I remember Messi mentioned to Neymar that "if he stayed" , Messi would playmake for him , played a Xavi-Iniesta roll so Neymar would be the focus , and yet somehow Neymar still choose to go to PSG. Was it a good choice? Well , thing is that Neymar did screw up , and Barca did also screw up with the money they got from Neymar. So in the end , it was a losing situation for both sides. Perhaps , maybe perhaps had he stay a couple more years , maybe he would have won one more Champions League and could have won "the Balon d or" , and inherit the throne left by Messi and his #10. At first , Neymar was the Left Wing and Mbappe was into the Right wing , then when Neymar got injured , Mbappe went into the Left wing and then Di Maria step up for the Right Wing. When Cavani left PSG , Mbappe was given the "Left wing/ST" position and since Neymar got injured and lost a lot of his speed , he decided to play more on a CAM role were he would work as a playmaker or a second finisher. But yeah , had Neymar stay fit , he would most likely hog the Left wing and Mbappe would have to adapt himself on the Right wing or as a new Striker.
