*”Comparison is the thief of joy”* - Theodore Roosevelt
My ex girlfriend ended up pushing me away because I was “too good for her”, cause I had my shit together and she didn’t. If you go on her social media, she’s always happy/her life is amazing. She’s a pretty girl and has thousands of followers but not a single one knows the behind the scenes. I love the girl but that alone showed me how fake social media is.

This is why I’m afraid of relationships. People will leave you just like that despite you loving them more than anything. It always starts of amazing but how can live with the fact that the person you fcking lived the most just walks out. I’d be suicidal and depressed bruh.

Comparison is one of the biggest problems of our society and the reason why so many people are depressed
@Crystal_G_1989
11 ай бұрын
The reason of that is because we are being mind condition in our environment circle its like matrix if you cant escape you will suffer.
Top things that helped me with comparison are: - Understanding that we all have such different lives and circumstances that comparison between you and another person can NEVER be a fair test. - You never truly know someone, so it's impossible for you to actually compare yourself to them. You're comparing your entire self to your outside perception of them. - Everyone's losing the comparison game. The people that make you feel like shit, have people that make them feel like shit. In that sense, we're all equals. - Even if comparison was completely valid, it still doesn't help you in any way at all. So there's no reason to do it. You have full permission to let go of those thoughts for this reason. - Comparison is a habitual way of thinking, and habits can be changed!

I deleted social media (still on KZread, obv) since August of last year. And I must say, I went from suicidal ideation with constant comparisons and negative thoughts to mental clarity and positivity. Watching videos like these and the like, has helped tremendously. Social media can be toxic for a vast majority, and if it’s got you down, just delete it and don’t look back. I’m so glad I did.
I find it sad that how our generation is suffering so much from mental problems including my self but I’m glad I found you’re channel
HEDONIC TREADMIL ever since i found out about this concept i noticed i've been significantly happier idk why im just less pessimistic, more understanding and accepting
Sometimes parents fault why we compare ourselves to others. After I discover and practice my mind not to compare myself to anyone. I'm more happy, and appreciate every small success i did. Comparing yourself to others is like a poison that slowly kills your personality, you become insecure, frustrated and depressed ... When somebody compares you to others just dont listen to them. I regret I didnt get this mindset during my college years those are depressive years of my life.
Recognizing your own self-worth exists outside of the opinions of others and striving only to compete with who you were yesterday, answering only to your own inner compass and looking at every imperfect venture as a 'process of elimination rather than a failure to acquire value
I don't compare myself to others so much because I accepted that I am different and everyone is unique 👍👍👍👍
This reminds such much of that scene in Soul where Joe finally became a musician playing in a band he always wanted to be in but for odd he didn't feel content nor happy he was asking himself "So now what ?" Which is something I relate to so hard.

This is very true measuring yourself to other peoples crooked yard stick while you’ll always fall short I tried that for years until I started just doing for myself and improved much more
Liked the video the second I clicked on it. Comparing ourselves with others happens automatically in our heads we don't even realize how that kills our mental health Btw keep up with the amazing videos Cole, I can really see that your obsessed with this yt stuff you really put a lot of effort into filming and editing and it really shows in the small details that makes the channel unique 💪
I like the part where you said to be happy in the present moment and to compare yourself to your past self to see how far you come. I’m trying to enjoy the present moment more. I even invited one of my coworkers to hangout. A year ago I would never have done that.
wow so true man amazing channel subbed!!
What a great inspiration!
Thanks for sharing! 👍🏼
COLE! What a critical subject to cover. And I think that you have talked about this before but not as in depth. This is something that I have struggled with and still do at times...... "good enough" Am I good enough? It's hard to see my growth at times it's kind of like when you plateau in the weightlifting world. But if you compare your body to 2 years ago and if I compare where I was at 2 years ago I see growth..... but if I compare myself to last week I feel stagnant sometimes
SKEEDOP! Love your videos!

Thank you for this video I always think about this quote by William Falukner, "Don't bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself."

Sometimes we compare ourselves to people on chapter 20 when we are on chapter 1. We need to realise that the people we compare ourselves with were where we are at today.

Sometimes people are in chapter 3, but reading a different book. You have the career, they have family etc.
Wish I could delete social media, but as a photographer, I can’t. Unfortunately, need it to get business….
I’ve been doing same thing over and over again. Not where i want to be in life. But deff not where I use to be. Seeing others my age doing the same thing winning. Getting noticed. Growing quick. Nothing for me. I compare so easily. Even with family… I never wanna just settle for 9-5 mon-Friday job. Wanna create content. The potential is there just always comparing my life to others even tho I’m not them and their not me…🤦🏽♂️
This dude is so underrated
Have you ever wondered how back in the early 1900s on up until the late 1900s there were so many advances in science and technology, so many inventions. Perhaps men and women back then weren’t nearly as distracted by what their fellow man or woman was doing, but were zeroed in on the task at hand. It seems like the more we consume ourselves with comparison and what others are doing it only stalls us and further paralyzes us from achieving goals.
