@@castafioreomg Fr in Pakistan these masterpieces are worshipped by all age groups, from old people to out new geenration. These aren't amateurs or local music. It's classical music & ghazals. These songs' lyrics has really really deep meaning & it's pure art.
I think the main reason is in the roots of how music survive in both countries. Pakistani music scene was always about independent bands, pop music, underground music scene. Its always been like that. Indian music scene is different where majority of music comes from bollywood.
They have better music bro and that's it (Period), from the early 80s when Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was at his prime till the recent coke studio season 14. Even when they are covering their old folk songs, they are still doing so much better job then what bollywood does with just putting down unnecessary beats in those epic classic tracks

Thats true but India also has great singers but problem is people would much rather listen to main stream garbage like tony kakkar and thats why the unknown/underrated singers dont get a chance. I hope this changed soon and the ACTUAL singers come to the forefront instead of the useless one

Coke Studio Pakistan has 14 seasons but just 76 episodes whereas Coke Studio India ran for 4 seasons with 31 episodes. The main difference is Pakistan choosing quality over quantities.

Bcz Coke Studio 🇵🇰 is original and others all are copies of it. Coke Studio is not limited to the famous singers but invite the local singers and make em famous. Its a quality to be precise

Strings is not just one of the best rock bands, they are brilliant arrangers as well. Listen to Mujhe Baar Baar by Abbas Ali khan. Ufff
Theres one major point you missed here. Let me state it in detail. I was watching western channel documentory on Pakistani music some years ago, there Haroon Rashid (lead singer of Awaz band) mentioned about that unlike other countries(inc India), Pakistani music industry has always been sourced from raw talent, and not from training. This allows for more experimentation. Lack of local professional music training in Pakistan has actually been a strongest point. So we end up with people from garage type bands, people trained in music from western countries, people influenced by local folk music all together gives us the right blend of independant artists, and music. Just like a spicy mixed achar 😉. While india you have big commercialised industry by the name of bollywood, the commercial demand of which drives down creativity. This can also be observed with Atif Aslam, during the time he was in Bollywood he was churning out mainstream music, instead of experimenting with different stuff which he is really good at. Also look at Shaan and Sonu Nigam, the albums they released in late 90s were freaking amazing!!, buy they were absorbed back by bollywoof.

Problem with CS India is that their music is so mixed, whereas while listening to CS Pakistan you experience each instrument very clearly, technically I don't know the reason for CS Pakistan happens to be so good, but music clearality is a big difference between both CS's, you can feel that difference within this video CS India's vs Pakistan clip.

I literally commented this on Coke Studio India's youtube channel too. I wanted them to bring underrated artists, bands etc on this huge platform (for example The Local Train, The Western Ghats, Bombay Bandook). They could have gone for a different and fresh approach but instead they brought an already famous Kpop group and renowned Indian singer and Allu Arjun as a dancer. Coke Studio was known for its raw musical taste where every instrument played a unique role but nowadays, Instruments aren't even visible in the songs. This is more of a dance choreography than a live musical performance. Coke Studio India might appease to a younger generation of audience with these funky beats and kpop groups but they have lost the essence of what Coke Studio is all about. This is the reason Pakistan still holds the crown.

As a long time listener of Coke Studio, if you're gonna mix music post production and not live, then you can't call it Coke Studio live. That's just pure fact and logic. And it's not like I have anything against modern artists, but I have a problem with promoting people who are already famous. Yes Coke Studio Pakistan has had legends like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Amjad Sabri etc with occassional kawaali, but even then, they've featured people who were unheard of before. Singers like Mehdi Maloof, Ali Parvez Mehdi, Sanam Marvi, Kaifi Khalil, Eva B, Abdul Wahab Bugti etc and multiple other artists and bands only got famous after their performance in Coke studio. And one thing they did is to make their music live. This should be enough proof that you don't know much about the legacy of Coke Studio.

Coke studio has never given projects to southern musicians to conduct. It went to Bollywood musicians only. There are Massive musicians out there in southern who blow the minds of people through their music styles. And about Pakistani artists, they are always gems in terms of Songs, lyrics, melodies, and singing. In my music journey, Pakistani Music influenced me a lot. And in the end, I don't want people to divide music by saying Indian or Pakistani. It's music and we're all musicians. One language we know is music that's it.

Also the music Original Coke Studio is making is better than any coke studio franchise globally. It'll be definitely hard for south languages to make music that'll be popular globally. I'm talking about the language here not the music. Anyone who knows music production in depth can make music that'll reach the mass but what about the lyrics? Translation is there but listening to music in a language and reading the lyrics in another language is definitely not everyone's thing. Only people who are dedicated will pay that attention. , Pakistan has always produce good pop singers and solo artist as compare to India. India's Bollywood music is better than Pakistan that for sure but in solo album of artist they can do creative things instead of sticking to a pattern or concept in Bollywood movie. I believe instead of bringing Bollywood music directors in Indian coke studio they should put trust on solo artist or bands who can produce music for example Sanam Band, Euphoria or even they could try Sneha khanvel.. Sneha does deep research on folk music and tries new stuff . you can observe that on Gang of Waseypur album..

In southern states music directors are rocking blockbusters after blockbusters and many local singers , tribal singers recently gave superb songs .... so to all those people who blindly say Pakistani music is greater than indian music .. maybe u must say Pakistani music is greater than recent bollywood music .... Coke studio India died after 4 season's. Indian's music of today can't be original for long. They must add or "be inspired" other people tunes. That's what's indian music has become starting from the "mahan" music directors of Bollywood.
